A satisfactory entry of 85 with a few absentees some of which I know the owners were at the Smooth-haired Dachshund Champ show which clashed with Hound day here. Such a shame that the KC cannot use computers to avoid these clashes that seem to happen so frequently. I enjoyed my day despite the torrential rain and the atrocious ground condition which really taxed some of the dogs. My top winners were superb and there were others that could easily have taken top honours. Thankyou for showing your lovely dachshunds under me.

MINOR PUPPY DOG. 3 1 abs. 1st Woodvine-Shone’s Ralines Elstar. Baby only 6 months 4 days. Pleased to find he is the son of my DCC winner. Lovely head and eye, pleasing construction with good angulation fore and aft. Coped well with the ground for one so young. Very promising. Best Puppy Dog. 2^nd Bedford’s Dinkidudlor Webba Wundah. Another baby only days over 6 months. Shaded red, well off for bone. Couldn’t cope with the ground. Rising slightly at the rear on the move.

PUPPY DOG. 5 1 abs. 1^st Broad’s Eldmour Sea Lord of Dinkidudlor NAF TAF. Most beautiful flat coat on this glamorous boy. Very nice head with dark eyes. Moved soundly in this class keeping a good out line. He had had enough by the time the challenge for Best Puppy Dog but one to watch. 2^nd McCarthy’s Nagshall Port Au Prince. Couldn’t decide whether this boy was dark cream or pale red but whatever he was a lovely colour with very dark points, most attractive. He moved fairly well to take 2^nd place. 3^rd Bedford’s Eldmour Kango Kajali of Dinkidudlor.

JUNIOR DOG. 6 3 abs. 1^st Norton’s Halunke Pure Magic. The first of this owner’s dogs which were all of similar type. Loved this clear red boy. Super head and eye, good length of neck, well constructed body. Moved soundly keeping a good topline. 2^nd McCarthy’s Nagshall Justintime. Shaded Cream, well shaped head and eye with lovely dark points. Good forechest, a little too long in body for balance but held his topline well on the move. 3^rd Pitfield’s Luna Capres D’oroed’argento of Follyfield [Imp Ita].

YEARLING DOG. 2. 1^st Brooks’s Inkums Chilli Pepper at Lyndarlea. Loved the construction of this shaded red boy. Just a bit too much of him but couldn’t deny him 1^st here. He moved so soundly coping with the ground really well. 2^nd McCarthy’s Nagshall Digby Mac. Another of similar type to the others from this kennel. Cream with dark points. Couldn’t match the 1^st on the move particularly in front action.

POST GRAD DOG. 4. 1^st Brooks’s Obdax Lynn’s Badger JW. Substantial Silver Dapple boy. Another with very good construction overall. Moved soundly both ways coping well with the conditions. Held his topline both standing and moving. 2^nd Breese’s Silkdown Phoenix Rising. Very attractive clear red. Would like tighter elbows. Didn’t hold his topline on the move as well as 1^st. 3^rd N. Digby Mac.

LIMIT DOG 5. 1^st Lockett-Walters’ & Walters’ Ralines Bright Future. Was delighted to award this super young dog the CC which I was told was his 4^th so already a Champion. Extremely smart Black & Cream. Lovely to go over. Excellent in head & eye, good length of neck, forechest, ribbing and angulation. Moved soundly keeping a good profile. 2^nd Brooks’s Lyndarlea Kenny. Dark B/T. This boy needs going over to appreciate. Well shaped conical head with correct eyes. Good ribcage and correct angulation. Moved well. 3^rd Weston & Johnson’s Galrhia Twice As Nice at Ecotyne.

OPEN DOG 6. 1^st . RCC Norton’s Halunke Going Dutch. Super rich red boy. Love the type this breeder is producing. Ideal length to height proportions enabling him to cope well with the uneven ground. Attractive in head and eye, good length of neck, ribs carried well back and correct angulation fore and aft. To be hyper-critical, and it is nit-picking, I would like a touch more forechest. 2^nd Broad’s Neertanauf Sea Magic JW SHCM. Liked this boy a lot. Very well constructed. Lovely head and eye. Coat needs to grow in to finish the picture. 3^rd Bedford’s Rossdach Cream Of The Crop.

VETERAN DOG 3 1^st Woodage’s Totonian Toscannini. B/T brindle. Pleasing head and outline. Coat and topline better than 2nd . 2^nd Pitfield’s Andynromadax Dave of Follyfield SHCM. Black & tan. Lovely to see the old dogs enjoying their day out. He has a good head and is sound. Carrying a bit too much weight for his size today.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH. 2 1abs. Murphy’s Dinkidudlor Petmar Purfect. Brindle baby just 6 months. Sweet head. Really nice feet. Good bone. Should mature into a nice one.

PUPPY BITCH. 7 1abs. 1^st Mitchell’s Metadale Coco Chanel of Bronia. Lovely black & cream puppy. Loved her head and eye. Good neck into correct shoulders. Pleasing body with ribs carried well back. Good angulation. Moved well to win the class and Best Puppy in Breed with ease. 2^nd Cooper’s Jumanda’s Silver Lace. 10 months silver dapple. Pretty head, good forechest, compact body. Correct angulation. Moved well. 3^rd D Petmar Perfect.

JUNIOR BITCH. 9 2 abs. 1^st Bell’s Tolberg Legally Blonde JW. Very pretty cream girl with the darkest of eyes and nose. Good construction with correct angulation fore and aft. Moved soundly. Just lacking marurity which will come. 2^nd Oxley’s Dinkidax Cyenna Satin. Another really nice exhibit. Rich red flat coat. Liked her head and expression. Good construction throughout. Close decision. I liked both of these girls. 3^rd Drady’s Indiko Silver Charm.

YEARLING BITCH. 5 2 abs. 1^st Weston & Johnson’s Ecotyne Firewitch. Very pretty B/T girl with coat in good condition. She is very well constructed and moved soundly keeping a good topline. 2^nd McCarthy’s Nagshall Hey Kari Ann JW. Lengthy light red . Lots to like about this girl. Pretty head, good forechest, well angulated. Preferred front action on 1^st. 3^rd Chappell’s Gleneddee Miz sweet Bee.

GRADUATE BITCH. 4 2 abs. 1^st Nagshall Just Fizzical. Cream bitch was 4th in JB. Pretty girl who moved well holding her topline. 2^nd Drady’s Jumanda Silver Sparkle at Indiko. Sturdier type silver dapple girl. Coped ok with the conditions.

POST GRAD BITCH. 12 2 abs. 1^st Bell’s Tolberg Dazzling Daisy. Pretty small black & cream bitch. Stands four square at all times. Lovely body, good hammy hindquarters. Moves soundly keeping a good profile picture. 2^nd Brook’s Willott Astra at Pauntley. Silver dapple bitch with lovely head, good front construction, good strong body and hind angulation. Moved positively in both directions with a level topline. 3^rd Craddock & Whitnall’s Cankasper Myss .

LIMIT BITCH. 7 1 abs. 1^st Woodvine-Shone’s Hanishan Little Red Madam. Really pretty red bitch. Good shape to head and eye, good length of neck, correct amount of forechest. Well constructed body topped off with a gleaming jacket. Moved really well. 2^nd Coopers Jumanda’s Silver Slipper JW. Very well constructed Silver Dapple bitch. Good head, strong bone. Moved soundly coping well with the ground. 3^rd Chappell’s Gleneddee Miz Cool Chick.

OPEN BITCH. 9 1abs. This was my class of the day. All 5 placed were potential CC winners. 1^st CC and BOB Norton’s Halunke Dutch affair. Apparently this CC gave her her Crown. So well deserved. Where do I start Lovely rich red colour, Stunning head and neck, body that just flowed under my hands. Moved so Arrogantly around the ring knowing she owned it. I loved her. 2^nd Geeson’s Ch Abydachs Absolutely. RCC. Black & Cream with text book construction. She is so eyecatching and so sound but just couldn’t cope with the ground as good as the winner. 3^rd Mitchell’s Bronia Peach Fuzz.
