My thanks to exhibitors at times the weather wet & blustery & the surface of the ring made it hard to assess some exhibits. Having said that I was disappointed by the males in general, having to make some allowances. There was much variation in heads & many lacked front angulation. The bitches gave me much more choice & there were number who I thought were of a lovely type & quality.
MPD (3,2a) 1 Buchan & Kerslake’s Devonwood Pippin at Helenium, nicely shaped overall with good head, eye & underjaw. Firm body, broad hindquarters, moved soundly. RCC. PD (2,1) 1 Shutt’s Star Gazer of Donadoon, head fairly narrow with slight stop, higher set with good ground clearance. Reasonable shoulder & fill in. Needs to come on in body maturity. JD (4,1w/d) 1 Bedford’s Eldmour Kango of Dinkidudlor, typy head, finer build but has good front & ribbing. Moved soundly; 2 Peel’s Boris Bear at Garbosa, preferred head type of 1, held good topline & shape overall. Moved well in profile; 3 Jury’s Bluebegin Pagen Moon at Torwood. LD (4,1) 1 Mortlock’s Metadale Leandros at Hertsmerry, more quality to head & expression than 2, adequate reach of neck, good body shape & topline. Moved well in profile; 2 Green’s Neertanauf Jack Jones, lacked a bit of type & was pushing in front, which unbalanced him. Moved reasonably; 3 Buchan & Kerslake’s Devonwood Cracker Jack at Helenium. OD (2,1) 1 Woodall’s Half Century at Rarewood, stood alone, not really my type but on handling has well balanced head. Well filled in front & nicely ribbed. Topline could be better & felt maybe coat didn’t help. Once he was moved with handler, he strode out covering the ground with purpose & for me looked the most typy in profile in the challenge. CC.
VB (3) 1 Green’s Eldmour Electra, best overall shape, preferred head type of 2 but nice body shape & rounded rear, moved well. BV; 2 Jury, Stephani & Fletcher’s Torwood Guns N’ Roses at Walnutfarm, not as well constructed & had a square look to rear, but nicely conditioned & moved soundly; 3 Mee’s Barlaine’s Black Princess. MPB (5,1) 1 Hall’s Cliffmere Levity, well boned youngster with feminine head & lovely eye. Won here on her construction & body shape, moved well; 2 Shutt’s Sanmik Magic Happens at Donnadoon, very typy but lacked the forehand construction of 1, reasonable body shape, moved quite well; 3 Murphy’s Dinkidudlor Petmar Purfect at Classidax. PB (3) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Port Alice, lovely puppy of quality & type. Made very well with feminine head, good underjaw. Super topline, good shoulder angulation, well boned. Nicely rounded hindquarters. Moved soundly. BP; 2 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Silver Lace, not as good in neck & shoulder as 1, nice head type. Moved OK; 3 Jury’s Torwood Tia Drop. JB (7,1) 1 Bell’s Tolberg Legally Blonde, completely filled my eye for type & quality. Lovely to go over, feminine head, well balanced with lovely dark eye, she has a lovely neck & shoulder with good return of upper arm. Well filled in thorax, body could still mature but she held a good topline & moved soundly. CC & BOB; 2 Allen’s Penparc Cinder Toffee, very similar in some respects to 1 as she has a quality head, just a little pinched in front of eyes. Lovely neck & shoulder. Light sound mover; 3 N Port Alice. PGB (5,1) 1 Murphy’s Classidax Liberty Belle, liked this girl for type & quality. Sweet head, a little unsure on the table but lovely to handle. Well shape front with good fill in. Well ribbed, nice spring. Strong hindquarters. Just lost her topline a little in profile; 2 McCarthy’s Nagshall Jus Fizzical, different type & not as confident. Nice head, reasonable length of neck, shade longer in body to 1; 3 Green’s Neertanauf Lucia Rijker. LB (8) 1 Cohen’s Raline’s Red Bouquet for Hutzpah, loved her quality & overall shape & soundest with the best fill in of thorax. Kept her topline on the move; 2 Mee’s Barlaine’s Red Splendour, another of good overall make & shape, liked her quality of Metadale Aphrodite. OB (9,1) 1 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Peach Fuzz, feminine head, well constructed & lovely shape, showed all in this class how to move. In the challenge preferred the head type & expression of the winner. RCC; 2 Rowell’s Ch Tolberg Tia Drop at Emajesk, heavier in head type, but overall well constructed with good body shape & topline. Moved a little wider in front than 1; 3 Shutt’s Longort Cassie Royale of Donnadoon.
