The circumstances of taking up this appointment cast a shadow over the day. Our thoughts were with Mrs. Maureen Poole and her family.

I was disappointed to find a lot of upright shoulders and poor rear drive.

VD 4(1 abs)

1st Peel’s SUMMERVIEW MAKE WAY FOR ROO Few teeth missing but could see the bite. Nice head with dark oval eye, good reach of neck and length of rib. Moved well.

2nd Pitfield’s FOLLYFIELD FIRECRACKER Good head and neck. Strong ribbing. Better teeth than 1 but not as good on the move.

MPD 8(2 abs)

1st Barnsdale’s DOLYHARP SOUL MAN AT CHRISKIM Good head and neck. Nice oval dark eye. Well ribbed and good rear angulation. Drove well keeping topline.

I would like to thank my very efficient steward for his sterling job keeping my ring going fluently & making my day an enjoyable one. Thank you.

I was pleased with my line up for the BCC, but there is some concern in some points in the breed. Toyish heads are creeping back in, some with very round eyes, bad front angulation, weak quarters with no muscletone due to lack of exercise.

On the plus side I was very pleased with all my winners who were presented well & moved with drive.

V (8,1a) 1 Ch Charpurdy Just Iss, 10 year old b/t in super condition. Lovely head & expression. Good length of neck into excellent shoulders. Front assembly correct & good feet, topline strong with good quarters, kept her lovely balance when moving, stands well on a loose lead with excellent temperament. BV; 2 Dolyharp Gypsy Music, s/cr of 9 years, pleasing head & expression, presented a very nice balanced outline when stacked on the table, excellent topline & quarters, enough neck & good ribbing, was presented in good condition & moved true; 3 Rossdach Dark Side Of The Moon. P (12) 1 Wildstar Wynnona, stunning 9 months red with the most beautiful head, lovely to handle on the table, long crested neck, beautiful front with tight feet, excellent top & underline, well turned quarters, beautifully presented coat just shone, she looked good from all angles, moved sound round the big ring & was pleased to award her RCC. BPB; 2 Dolyharp Salut D’Amour, very pleasing 9 month s/cr, not the headpiece of 1, but lovely to handle on the table, lots of quality with good neck, front, topline & quarters, presented well & moved very sound with excellent drive; 3 Nagshall Just Be Lucky. J (10,3) 1 W Wynnona; 2 Cliffmere Levity, pretty s/r with pleasing head & expression, would like a little more neck to improve her elegance, but has a good front, tight feet, good topline & well turned quarters, liked her attitude & temperament & was very sound when asked to move; 3 Ralines Hole In One. Y (6) 1 Eldmour Nettle Omoro at Chriskim, very pleasing little cream of excellent shape, looked lovely on the table & was lovely to handle, she has a pleasing head, dark eyes, good mouth & good pigment, front angulation is correct, topline & quarters strong, moved sound & well handled & presented to win this class; 2 Barok’s Blue Moon Rising, sparkling coat on this b/t girl, pretty head with black eyes & keen expression, enough neck, good front, nice feet, topline strong, quarters OK, kept a good outline moving, excellent temperament; 3 Nagshall Port Alice. PG (11,2) 1 Dolyharp Bizet’s Carmen, liked this b/t a lot on the table, she has a stunning outline & is lovely to handle, her head is pleasing, would like a more almond shaped eye but they are jet black & she looks well at you.
