A very good entry for all three varieties of Dachshund, and some very top notch exhibits. Some were more disappointing and I have to say that some bites were a bit of a surprise. I was disappointed that one exhibit was presented in its respective Group quite lame

Dachshund Miniature Long-Haired

Quite a few necks were on the short side, not unusually, and there were a few struggling with the weight, though not in an unhealthy amount either way.

P D 2

Two lovely pups with lovely qualities.

1st Paskins’ Dinkidax Sandrayana at Kindeace.- eleven months red , dark, almond eye, just could do with slightly less stop but filled in under eye. Shoulder placement pretty good though a shade more ribbing would help, still a baby and time to fill out. Lovely flat wavy coat and moved out with activity and confidence. B.D.

2nd Boyle’s Zarcrest Black Brewer- 7 months black and tan who just couldn’t hold himself up today. Little short in muzzle just now but otherwise lovely head. Showing good length and with a super coat, his movement was erractic, but really promising.

PG D 2

1st Woodall’s Rarewood Siver Commander- silver dapple, head of conical shape, flat enough over skull. Rather short in upper arm I thought, so a little out at elbow, but well enough off for bone. Quality coat with just enough of it and moved with drive.

2nd Shutt’s Star Gazer of Donnadoon – Black and tan, attractive headpiece and I liked his front assembly, which had good length of upper arm. Unfortunately unable to hold his topline, and not that keen on the move.

L D  3(1)

1st Shutt’s Dragonsteeth Cream Cracker at Donnadoon- cream mature male, no bother with the weight, dark almond eye, good head shape, though could do with a stronger jaw. Decent prosternum and keel and enough ribbing. A little flat in front pasterns but moved true front and rear and purposefully.

2nd Mortlock’s Metadale Leandros at Hertsmerry – red also matching the requirements, conical head , good eye shape, just lacking in keel and roaching a bit. Beautiful coat and flag like tail.

O D 2

1st Woodall’s Ch Half Century at Rarewood- silver dapple, strength in jaw and conical head shape, well off for bone and strong feet. I thought him rather short in upper arm and keel  though he seemed well ribbed up and short enough in loin. He moves with drive and purpose, holding topline and in lovely order.R.B.D.

2nd Connew’s Fennellafleur Zorro – older dapple, just struggling a little with his weight like a lot of us. Otherwise of reasonable proportions and decent coat. Moved out quite well too.

V D 1

1st Connew’s Fennellafluer Elvis – the first thing that hits you about this chocolate and tan dog is his problematic, curly coat, however his head shape is good , he has a pronounced forechest and his proportions are in keeping. But where he excelled was on the move. Without doubt this dog was the best mover in this variety today, out and back parallel and moved round the ring with vigour, a pleasure to watch.

P B 4(1)

1st Rowell’s Emmajesk Masquerade – eight months cream in super coat and condition. Big strong teeth, almond shape to dark eye set head of good shape with flattish skull. Pleasing proportions and strength to well knuckled feet. Moved out well showing rear pads, though puppyish at times.R.B.B. and B.P.

2nd Cohen’s Lilac Blossom for Hutzpah – seven months red bitch, again coat flat and enough for age. Promising , though eye could do with a little more slant, may come.Plenty of forechest  and shape is fine, just bum high today. Happy mover.

3rd Fitzgerald’s Harlilsun Harrybo Summer

J B  6(2, 1 W/D)

One exhibit withdrew as she became very unsettled.

1st Oxley’s Pearl Our Pride And Joy at Dinkidax – attractive cream, feminine head, and coat in good order.Just enough front, though could do with a bit more keel. She has a tendency to roach slightly now and again, but holds her topline when she relaxes. Moved fairly well though I would like to see her showing more rear pads as she matures.

2nd Shutt’s Sanmik Magic Happens to Donnadoon – another with an attractive head , plenty of front and  a good length of upper arm. For me though, the rear end was not as good as the front, which was reflected in her movement.

3rd Harlilsun Harrybo Summer

PG B  5 (1)

1ST Woodall’s Rarewood Coco Mist – chocolate dapple, one dark, one wall eye as per her very pretty markings.Won on her classic head proportions, strong jaw. Of correct length to height I felt, and reasonable length to upper arm, but a bit lacking in keel. Super coat, moved fairly well.

2nd Murphy’s Dinkidudlor Petmar Purfect at Classidax – Just too much of dome to skull on this dark brindle, I thought. Flat and wavy coat in good order.Perhaps a little short in body proportions, but moved with drive and purpose .

3rd Drady’s Jumanda’s Silver Sparkle at Indiko

L B 5

This was a really strong class, all spot on for weight and condition

1st Mee’s Barlaine’s Red Splendour- red gleaming coat on this mature bitch, beautifully set eye of correct shape, although just a little broad in back skull. Her body shape was just right with a good length of keel, and ribbing extending well back, giving a short loin. Moved with drive.

2nd Bell’s Tolberg Legally Blonde – lovely cream bitch, who has grown up to be just a little narrow under the eyes and could do with slightly stronger jaw for me.However her body proportions are good and her topline is held well. She moved well too.

3rd Oxley’s Dinkidax Cyenna Satin.

O B 4(1)

1st Mee’s Barlaine’s Golden Delight – and she really is a delight in a  gleaming golden coat of the right quality and quantity. Litter sister to Limit winner. Big strong teeth in a houndy, feminine head.  Super prosternum, plenty length to keel and well ribbed, with short loin, but still maintaining the correct length of body. Moved freely and purposefully, showing rear pads. B.B. and B.O.B. Sad not to see her in the Group ring.

2nd Pearl Our Pride And Joy at Dinkidax

3rd Murphy’s Classidax Limited Edition

V B  2

1st Drady’s Larkhund Russian Queen- very black and tan with plenty of coat,  well shaped conical head. Decent length of keel and full ribbing. Balanced angulation and moved pretty well. B.V.

2nd Barlaine’s Black Princess- black and tan who also moved well but inclined to roach at times.A little too much stop for me which did detract from her otherwise good head shape.
