As some of you will know I have loved Dachshunds in general for many a long year and first started judging them back in 1979 at Cleveland County Show. I never thought the day would come when I was first allowed to award CC's in one of the varieties of this breed. I was disappointed with the overall quality of some of the exhibits. For me many were too short in body and with poor in rear ends. There was also a number that carried their tails too high on the move. I had 2 that were over weight which I appreciate is hard to maintain the 11 lbs. I was also surprised at the number of exhibits that had had their coats chewed by kennel mates.

V (5,2) 1 Broad Neertamuaf Sea Magic Sh.CM JW. 7 and a half year old dog with pleasing head and neck. Correct topline and forechest. Pleasing on the move for his age. 2. Edwards Barok Blonde Bombshell. Only just into veteran and not really looking her age. Nice little bitch but lacking her coat on the day. Good body, front and topline. Good on the move. 3. Green Eldmour Electra.

MPD (2) 1 & BP. Mitchell Bronia The Wizzard. A really lovely young tidy dog at 8 mths and all in proportion. Excellent head for his age with good with good long arched neck. Well shaped eye and good ear carriage. Correct hindquarters and pleasing on the move. 2. Brace Xemxija Ice Warrior. This 7 mth old young man still needs time to settle on the table. He just has not got his act together yet. Moving is not a problem. Good head and neck with correct topline would just like slightly better in front movement.

PD (2) 1. Hall Cliffmere Folk Art. 11 mth old with excellent head and neck and good front movement. Correct topline. He is still tending to sit on the stand and needs plenty of encouragement. Excellent on the move. 2. Xemija Ice Warrior.

JD (5) 1 & DCC. Phillips Summerview Yogi Bear. This young chocolate man is only just a fortnight out of puppy but for me he fit's the bill correctly. Excellent head and long neck flowing into his excellent shoulders. Good front and feet with the very best of toplines and correct hind quarters. Lovely jacket for his age. I was delighted to award him his first CC and feel he has a very bright future ahead of him. 2. Bedford Dinkidudlor Kintango Dinka. Pleasing head and neck and quite a bit smaller than the winner. Good front and depth of brisket. Correct topline but would just like slightly better in hind quarters, 3. Hall Cliffmere Patrick Sway Zee.

YD (2) 1. McCarthy Nagshall Just Lucamac. Lovely head and neck with correct front and topline. Good depth of brisket and correct rib cage. Pleasing on the move. 2. Poole Findowries Franchise. Good head and expression with correct front. Would prefer better in topline. Good depth of brisket. Needs to tighten in rear movement. PGD (3) 1. Broad Eldmour Sea Lord Of Dinkidudlor. 2 and a half year old red with good head and neck. Good topline. Would like to see him stronger in hind quarters and his movement was poor for me both front and rear. 2. McCarthy Nagshall Port Au Prince JW. Good head and expression. I think this dog was having an off day as I found him to be poor on the move and wide in the front. 3. Earley Yelva King Of The Road.

LD (4) 1 McCarthy Nagshall Justintime JW. Good dog of the correct size and shape. Correct length of topline and well carried head and strong in neck. Correct front and depth of brisket. Would have just liked him slightly better in his hind quarters. Ok on the move. 2. Bedford Eldmour Cinnamon Spice. Good dog but just a tough short in his topline for me. Good head and neck and correct front and feet. Pleasing on the move. On the day he was humping his back when on the stand which made him appear even shorter. 3. Green Neertanauf Jack Jones.

OD (5) 1 & Res DCC Wood Ch. Wildstar Wrobinson JW. Lovely red rising 2 year old of the correct size and shape. Pleasing in head and neck with correct topline and good hind quarters. Excellent jacket and pleasing on the move. 2. McCarthy Nagshall Just Santana JW. Another nice dog of the correct size and shape. Pleasing head and neck with correct front and feet. Good topline. Pressed hard for top spot just messed about on the stand. Pleasing on the move. 3. Bedford Dinkidudlor Mandinka Myo.

GC (2,) 1. Eldmour Sea Lord of Dinkidudlor. 2. Eldmour Electra.

SB (1) 1. Neertanauf Jack Jones. Larger dog than I prefer. Pleasing head and topline. Good depth of brisket. Like to see him moving better front and rear.

MPB (5) 1. Mitchell Bronia Withcraft. Littler sister to the minor puppy dog. Pleasing head, neck, front and body. Good topline and hind quarters. Pleasing on the move. I think in time she will be better than her brother. 2. Brace Xemxija Ice Sundae. Needs more time for her to mature. Pleasing head and expression. Good topline. Would like slightly better on the move. 3. Brown Devencream Myrtle.

PB (4,1) 1. Shutt Donnadoon Moondust. Lovely Tri colour with excellent head and neck. Good front and feet and quality topline for age. Strong in hind quarters and pleasing on the move. 2. Brown Devoncream Crystal Tiara. This little bitch needs plenty more time to settle on the table. Good head and neck. Would like slightly better in front and hind movement but could improve with age. 3. McCarthy Nagshall Sukimac.

JB. (5) 1 & Res BCC. Bedford Dinkidudlor Malizy Yaisa. Classy dapple of the correct size and shape. Correct shaped head and good length of neck. Good shoulder placement, correct front and rear. Pleasing on the move. 2. Baker Cliffmere Frollick. Good head and expression. A tough short in the body for me. Good front and feet. Would like to see covering more ground on the move. 3. Johnson Charpurdy's Dandy Dutchess.B

YB (2,1) 1 McCarthy Nagshall Just Be Lucky. Lovely 21 mths of the correct size and shape. Pleasing head and expression. Good length of neck and correct topline. Pleasing on the move.

PGB (4,1) 1. McCarthy Nagshall Cristobel. Correct size and shape and yet another nice one from this kennel. Good size and shape with pleasing head, neck, front and depth of brisket. Good rib cage. Pleasing on the move. 2. Phillips Serena's Song Of Summerveiw. I liked this bitch when she come into the ring but in the end she wasn't moving as well as the winner which cost her top spot. Excels in head and topline. Good tail set. 3. Edwards Barok's Blue Moon Arising.

LB (3) 1, BCC & BOB Mitchell Bronia First Impression. This bitch lived up to her name and made a big impression on me. At just 19 mths this red bitch had all that I was looking for. Correct size and shape, excellent head, and long neck of the correct proportions. Good front and feet and the very best in toplines. Moving well and excellent jacket. 2. McCarthy Nagshall Just So JW. This bitch just had a big ask and couldn't come close to winner for me. Good head, neck and topline. Would like better in front. Good in hind quarters and on the move. 3. Edwards Barok Honey Bea.

OB (4) 1. Hall Cliffmere Levity. 2 and a half year old of the correct size and shape with pleasing head, neck and feet. Good topline and hind quarters and excellent on the move. 2. Graham Devoncream Lilty Luna At Jadag. Good on the stand with pleasing head and neck. Good topline and hind quarters. Just a tad short in body for me. 3. Bedford Eldmour Kiwi Kalilu Of Dinkidudlor.
