Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds - Judge: Pauline Kerslake
It was a privilege to judge at this well run and friendly championship show. Thank you to my efficient stewards Mr & Mrs Sidgwick. All exhibits were clean and well presented but unfortunately a few had dirty teeth. I was very pleased with my main winners who all had substance and style.
Puppy Dog (2)
1. Siggee’s ENSIGYNES STERLINI 11 month Brindle. Excellent head. Good reach of neck. Well placed shoulders. Front developing nicely. Firm quarters which he used to drive himself round the ring with ease. Very in tune with his handler.
2. Oxley’s DINKIDAX RIGHT ON CUE 8 month Cream. Close up on 1st. Similar comments apply. In good coat. Unfortunately not co-operating well with his handler today.
Junior Dog (4, 1 Abs)
1. McCarthy’s NAGSHALL LOVE TO BE 8 month black/tan. Well sprung lengthy ribbing. Good head and eye and reach of neck. Well angulated fore and aft. Covered the ground well keeping a level topline.
2. Oxley’s LOKMADI RIO BRAVO AT DINKIDAX 16 month cream. I liked this young dog but he was not as developed in forechest as 1st. However, he was a sound exhibit with a pleasing outline and moved out well
3. Bedford’s ROTHMIA CASSIUS CLAY OF DINKIDUDLOR
Novice Dog (1) 1. McCarthy’s NAGSHALL LOVE TO BE
Post Graduate Dog (2) 1. Irvine’s BRONIA THE DUTCHMAN 2 year old red. Well proportioned. Masculine head. Good length of neck. Firm, positive movement. Would have preferred longer ribbing.
2. Heiser’s POLINARD KIMBER 4 year old sh/red of good type . Shorter coupled than 1st. Well sprung ribbing with good depth of keel. Unfortunately his movement was rather erratic today and therefore difficult to assess.
Limit Dog (2) 1. Brown’s DOLYHARP PUCCINI WITH GARBOSA 13 month black and tan. Extended well on the move which impressed me as he entered the ring. Lovely masculine head. Well placed shoulders with tight fitting elbows. Prominent forechest. In super coat. Pleased to award him the RDCC.
2. McCarthy’s NAGSHALL JUST LUCAMAC JW ShCM Another quality exhibit that was pleasing to go over. Good pigmentation, which is so often lacking in the creams. Well angulated. Loved his houndy head and good reach of neck. Positive mover.
Open Dog (7, 1 Abs) 1. Harris & McLachan’s CH/SZ/DK CH ZARCREST BLACK SMITH W18 ALPENSIEGER 2018 Beautifully prepared in gleaming black and tan coat and so well handled. Masculine head and good eye. Well laid shoulders. Good spring of rib. Extends well on the move keeping a level topline at all times. Pleased to award him the DCC & BOB. Went on to be awarded Hound Group 4.
2. Wood’s CH WILDSTAR WROBINSON JW Well balanced red who strode out confidently round the ring with proud head carriage. Pleasing outline. In excellent coat. Expertly handled.
3. Kennedy’s HANISHAM BLUE DIAMOND
Veteran Dog (1) 1. McCarthy’s NAGSHALL JUST SANTANA JW ShCM 7 year old cream of substance. Well ribbed. Firm quarters. Good head and eye. Another positive mover from this kennel. In super coat. BV.
