It certainly was touch & go up until the last minute to get the go ahead for Crufts 2020. Thank you to everyone who entered & those who exhibited on the day, surprisingly we had very few absentee's. At the end of my appointment I can honestly say that this was the best quality entry of Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds I have ever had the pleasure to judge. As most of you will know I have over the years bred, owned & exhibited Miniature Longs (& indeed still have one as my bed bug!). A variety that I dearly love & know only too well the challenges that breeders face in producing a good one. I thoroughly enjoyed my day so much with plenty of very good dogs throughout the classes. I felt there was no problem in consistently finding the type that appeals to me & without doubt both my Dog & Bitch line ups where exceptional & a credit to you & your variety. Judging without scales has its challenges & decisions have to be made in seconds. Having judged Miniature Dachshunds around the world many times without weighing I can honestly say that the dogs under me today remain Miniature Dachshunds & my hope is that we continue weighing here just to give us all a guide & help retain the desired size. On the day I had no lean dogs exhibited under me & in some cases a few where extremely well covered!. Looking back through my notes I see I had just three exhibits with a kink in their tails & one monorchid. Mouths where exceptional & teeth beautifully clean. I take notes on each individual dog so I have a record on how that exhibit performed at that moment in time. We had a super sized ring which showed the movement of each exhibit & in many cases it was the final circuit that split the first & second in each class. With an enthusiastic ring side, my wonderful Stewards Paul Hayes & Lisa Gudgin, together with a collection of Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds that where pure quality, my Crufts 2020 experience will remain with me forever, thank you to everyone who made this possible

Happy & outgoing, so well handled & presented

OB (8,2); 1 & BCC, Goddard's Minard Quiet Reflection, absolutely stunning 3 yr Cream in the peak of condition. Ultra feminine in outlook & beautiful to look at from any angle. Most gorgeous head & melting expression, dark points throughout, long well arched neck that leads into Sayers description of correct shoulders, tightest of elbows on first class legs & tightly bunched feet. Her breast bone is prominent & the width through her front is correctly filled. Her ribbing is long & well sprung with correct top & underlines. Loins are short & thick, her quarters are correctly angulated with correct bend of stifle and length to her second thigh. Good strong hocks that are neat & parallel. Coming & going she is so very sound, in profile she is sheer poetry in motion clearly displaying correct reach from front & follow through from behind retaining a natural overall outline. Absolutely dripping in coat which was perfectly presented. Today was certainly her day, she certainly filled my eye & left me with no doubt she should top this excellent bitch entry. The very first time I awarded CC's in Min Longs my BOB winner was Minard Kittyake At Maudaxi, all these years later I was delighted to find the same beautiful type of bitch. One that I would very much like to look at every day at home. Congratulations on consistently producing the same beautiful type!. 2, Cohen's Ch Ralines Red Bouquet For Hutzpah, So well made & so beautifully presented.
