Many thanks to the exhibitors for giving me a lovely entry to judge, with many exciting youngsters that show a lot of promise for the future of the breed. When looking through the pedigrees of my principal winners, many of them were sired by the same stud dog or had him as a grandsire and it was no surprise to see many of his qualities coming through. With just one or 2 exceptions mouths were good and tooth hygiene slightly improved on last time I judged which was good to see. Some were too long in body and too low to ground for my liking and these were placed accordingly as were the small number of dogs that were shown too lean for my liking irrespective of what the scales said.

Special Beginners Dog - 4 entries

1. Grose’s Belvydach Proper Job – Very smart B/T dog of a good type. Excellent size. Lovely masculine head with adequate length of neck. Well laid shoulders and correct prosternum. Adequate ribbing. Balanced rear angulation. Moved true both ways and showed enough reach and drive in profile. Out of coat today but a smart little dog. Shame he didn’t stay to challenge for best special beginner.

2. Fairchild’s Restinim Torandot – Red dog with a good head and front angulation. Would prefer more ground clearance. Well angulated behind. Moved ok.

Minor Puppy Dog – 3 entries

1. Mitchell’s Bronia King Crimson – Red dog in excellent condition with a correct flat straight coat. Good length of neck and well laid shoulder. Very good well padded feet. Held a good outline both stacked and on the move. True coming and going and had good reach and drive in profile.

2. Latham-Jackson’s Hanishan Neapolitan Urishay – 6 month old red with a beautiful head and good coat, good length of neck leading into well laid shoulders. Decent ribbing, well angulated behind. Needs to tighten up on the move which will come with time. Promising baby.

Puppy Dog – 3 entries

1. Boyle’s Zarcrest See in Red – Beautiful pale red dog who is just my cup of tea. Loved his head and length of neck, leading into correct shoulders with a good length of upper arm which allows for his excellent front movement. Well ribbed back and has excellent rear angulation which he uses to advantage. Has that bit of extra ground clearance that I like which helps to give him the free and easy ground covering stride that is just so lovely to watch. He is only young and still needs to develop in body but he surely has a bright future ahead of him. Couldn’t be denied the CC, BOB & BPIB today.

2. Wallace’s Ralines Just Jiles – Lovely puppy, excellent red coat. Good head and length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders, not quite the upper arm of 1. Good length of ribbing. Well angulated behind. Moved true coming and going with plenty of reach and drive in profile. Considered for the RCC and I’m sure he also has a bright future ahead of him.

Junior Dog – 3 entries

1. Poole’s Findowrie Mister Mckye – Smart shaded red, well angulated fore and aft, excellent ribbing extending well back. Compact body. Moved well. Would prefer him a little more masculine in head.

2. Crow’s Drymoor Friars Luxury Among Martinks – B/T boy with plenty of substance! Good head, balanced angulation fore and aft, good ribbing. Preferred his more compact body over 3rd.

Yearling Dog – 4 entries

1. Lockett-Walters Hutzpah Heathcliffe at Ralines – Cream dog of an excellent type. Lovely masculine head, good length of neck leading into well laid shoulder. Would prefer slightly more length to his upper arm. Correctly angulated rear which he uses well on the move. In excellent coat and condition. Moved true coming and going with good reach and drive in profile.

2. Belvydach Proper Job

Novice Dog – 3 entries

1. Belvydachs Proper Job

2. Drymoor Friars Luxury Among Martinks

Graduate Dog – 1 entry

1. Broad’s Dinkidax Dionysus – Red dog in good coat and condition. Reasonably angulated shoulder with good length of ribbing. OK rear. Moved well.

Post Graduate Dog – 3 entries

1. McCarthy’s Nagshall Dutch Odyssey – Shaded red with an excellent head and length of neck. Good shoulder and decent prosternum. Better length of upper arm than 2nd. Well angulated rear. Would prefer longer ribbing.

2. Drady’s Tolberg Black Adder at Indiko – Black and cream dog with a lovely head and neck. Good length of ribbing. Balanced angulation. Move as true going away as I’d like, but good profile movement.

Limit Dog – 6 entries

1. Woodvine-Shone’s Hanishan Fire Cracker – Shaded red dog of a useful type. Good head, reasonable length of neck, balanced angulation both ends. Moving out well coming and going and in profile. In excellent coat and condition

2. Dunhill’s Zarcrest Flash Gordon at Gellijam – Silver dapple dog of good type. Lovely masculine head, reasonable length of neck, well angulated front. Ok ribbing. Well angulated read. Moved well. Would like better feet.

Open Dog – 3 entries

1. Woodvine-Shone’s CH Ralines Sazerac – Lovely red dog with a good head and length of neck. Well angulated front and back, decent ribbing and holds a lovely outline both stacked and on the move. Moves so well, really driving from his neat rear. In excellent coat and body condition. Well deserved RCC

2. Hall’s Cliffmere Woodman – Lovely Shaded red dog with an excellent head and front. Good ribbing. Decent rear. Moves well with good front extension. Preferred the rear drive of 1st.

Veteran Dog – 2 entries

2 lovely boys who are a credit to their owners

1. Broad’s CH Neertanauf Sea Magic JW ShCM – 11.5yr old with a lovely head and length of neck. Good ribbing. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well. In excellent coat and condition for age.

2. McCarthy’s Nagshall Just Santana JW ShCM – Cream dog with a good head and an excellent set of teeth. Well angulated front and rear. Slightly over long in body for me.

Special Beginners Bitch – 2 entries

1. Steven’s Urishay Ambrosia by Sidburyhill – Black and cream 9 month old puppy with a food head and an excellent temperament. In good coat and condition and well handled to get the most out of her. Would prefer more angulation. Best Special Beginner

2. Aneke’s Sanmik Little Beautiful Lady – Shaded red with excellent front construction. Excellent coat and condition for age. Tending to pull on the move which makes her movement difficult to assess.

Minor Puppy Bitch – 6 entries (2 absent)

1. Butler’s Minard Out Of The Darque from Drymoor – Lovely B/T 6 month old baby showing lots of promise for the future. Excellent feminine head. Well angulated shoulders with good length of upper arm. Very good ribbing extending well back. In super body and coat condition. Rear angulation matches front. Moves soundly both coming and going and showing good extension and drive in profile. Pushed the much older and more mature puppy bitch hard in the challenge.

2. Hall’s Cliffmere Edith – Lovely type, red bitch. Beautiful head and neck, good shoulder angulation. Decent ribbing. Good angulation behind. Just running up slightly on the move today but another good prospect for the future.

Puppy Bitch – 9 entries (1 absent)

1. Boyle’s Zarcrest Black Diamond - Litter sister to BOB and many similar comments apply. Black and cream with a lovely head and excellent length of neck. Good lay back of shoulder but could use slightly more prosternum. Good ribbing. Well angulated rear. Really lovely on the move showing correct ground covering strides. Has more ground clearance than 2nd which is to my liking. BPB

2. Cox’s Cheritondax Chardonnay – Red in excellent coat and condition. Well proportioned head, decent length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Good ribbing extending well back. Very good rear angulation. Moved well holding a good outline. Would prefer better pigment on a red.

Junior Bitch – 4 entries

1. Mason’s Crownlake’s Queen Bee – Quality black and tan with an excellent head and length of neck. Super front construction, well ribbed back and in excellent body condition. Moves well from all angles with correct ground clearance.

2. Shutt’s Starlight Angel of Donnadoon – Black and cream that looks a picture stacked. Good head, would prefer a less round eye. Well angulated both ends. Good ribbing and body condition. Needed to settle more on the move to properly assess her movement.

Yearling Bitch – 4 entries

1. Walters’ – Ralines Lemontini – Cream bitch of a lovely type. Decent head with a good length of neck. Well angulated shoulders and good length of ribbing. Excellent rear and really good feet. Moved well. Looks a picture stacked just needs a bit more confidence so she relaxes more on the move.

2. Cox’s Dolyharp Sweet Harmony – Shaded red in excellent coat. Ok head, decent shoulders. Excellent ribbing extending well back. Good rear. Moved well showing good reach and drive in profile. Preferred the length of neck of 1st.

Novice Bitch – 2 entries

1. Burrows’ Urishay Amaryllis at Revdvicki – B/T with a lovely temperament. Lovely head, ok front angulation but could use more angulation behind. Animated on the move.

2. Norris’ Urishay Amandine at Criscan – B/T with an excellent head, ok front angulation and decent rear. Tucks up a bit too much underneath for me. Moved well.

Graduate Bitch – 2 entries

1. Cox’s Bronia Jelly Baby – Good head on this well coated red bitch. Well angulated front, decent ribbing. Could have more rear angulation. Moved well with better front extension than 2nd.

Post Graduate Bitch – 3 entries (1 absent)

Correct body length with good long ribbing. Balanced rear angulation. Moves well covering the ground. In excellent coat and condition.

2. Drady’s Tolberg Cream Surprise at Indiko – Lovely headed cream bitch. Good neck leading into good shoulders. Balanced rear angulation. Moved well from all angles. Preferred the length of ribbing on 1.

Open Bitch - 2 entries

2 really beautiful bitches who gave me a real headache as each excels in different points and I would have liked to have awarded them both the CC for different reasons.

1. Goddard’s Minard Quiet Reflection – Cream bitch with a beautiful head and expression, she has a profuse coat which you really need to get under to appreciate how well made she is. Best of shoulders with good length of upper arm and prominent prosternum. Ribbing that extends well back and short loin. Balanced hind quarters. Strides out with positive movement from all directions. After much deliberation I was delighted to award her the CC, her 3rd, congratulations.

2. Lockett-Walters – CH Ralines Party Politics – Black and Cream bitch who was presented to perfection and has the type of coat I much prefer to 1st. Excellent reach of neck leading into textbook shoulders, ribbing that extends well back, slightly longer in body than 1. Excellent hind quarters which she uses so well on the move. In hard condition and moved round the ring with purpose. Just preferred the head of the cream bitch today so she had to settle for the RCC

Veteran Bitch – 1 entry

1. Weston & Johnson’s Ecotyne Firewitch 7yr old bitch who is very much my type of mini long. Lovely head, could use slightly more length of neck but well angulated shoulders. Lengthy ribbing, short loin and well angulated rear. Moved well and in excellent coat and condition. Best Veteran in Breed
