Firstly, I would like to thank the Committee of Leeds Championship Show for the invite to judge the mini long dachshunds and for the warm welcome I received.
I was pleased with my winners however; I have to say that standard of males is not what it used to be. Most exhibits were well presented however a few could have benefited from being bathed !! and it does not take much to keep canine teeth clean.... please check them before you show them some missed awards due to lack of presentation and dirty teeth. Weights do need to be watched and even without scales some bitches were exceedingly well covered. It would have been nice to have Minor Puppy classes as there is a big gap between 612-month-old pups and some at 11 months are very mature.
PUPPY DOG 2 (0)
1ST Bronia Wolfgang Puck Mrs S Broad. Clear red boy pleasing head and eye, good length of rib and loin. Good coat and moved well.
2nd Hutaka Hot Shot Ms A Beckett-Bradshaw. Fabulous dark shaded red boy. Masculine head, nice almond eye and correct ear set. Good size, nice shoulder placement flowing into correct ribbing and loin. Nice rear angulation moved well. Just lost the class today as he was unsettled.
JUNIOR DOG 2 (0)
1st Abydach Alpha Centauri Miss E Geeson. Super masculine head although kept the soft expression. Nice tight feet, well ribbed with good rear angulation. Kept his topline from start to finish and covered the ground with purpose. Good coat and presented well others could learn from this kennel.
2nd Hanishan Neapolitan Urishay Mrs A Latham-Jackson. Lovely red dog of correct coat and size. Good head and expression. Correct ribbing and loin, nice rear angulation. Movement was a little erratic due to external factors which was a shame. One to watch.
POST GRADUATE DOG 3 (2)
