DACHSHUND (MINIATURE LONGHAIRED) - No CCs
BEST OF BREED : COX Cheritondax Chardonnay
P D/B. 1st; Dunhill and Knight's Calgreg Glory at Gellijam. 7 month old black and cream bitch with a very pretty head and expression, a good bite and well shaped leathers. A nice length of neck is set into a well laid shoulder and return of Upper arm, she has sufficient width in front with straight legs and a decent keel, elbows held tightly to the body. A level topline in stance and held well on the move, leads to a nicely angled hind end with good width and decent hocks. BP
2ND; Grose's Belvydach Queen of hearts. Another 7 month old bitch with a very pretty feminine head, dark almond shaped eye, good length of leather and excellent pigment. She holds a nice shape when she is cooperating but looks to be a bit stubborn sometimes. She has a nicely angled front with sufficient keel, elbows held tightly to the body. A lovely topline leads to strong hocks and she moved soundly and with verve. Just lacking a little in maturity compared to 1.
3rd; Bullis’ Summerview Blushing Beauty.
PG D/B 1st; Cox’s Dollyharp Sweet Harmony. Here is a 2yo pale red bitch of some style, a nice head with soft expression, good pigment, bite and leathers, a reasonable length of neck is set into well laid shoulders and return of Upper arm with a good keel and her front legs are straight, elbows held tightly to the rib. A level topline both in stance and on the move leads to an excellent tail set, well angled through her hind end with strong broad hocks that are used well on the move.
2nd; Grose’s Belvydack Proper Job. 3 yo B & T dog, thought he would be my winner on entering the ring, but he does himself no favours sometimes. A lovely head and dark well shaped eye, good bite and length of leather. A good length of neck is set into an excellent front assembly with a good keel and elbows tucked in to rib, but front leg could be a touch straighter for perfection. He has a lovely topline in stance but it could be stronger on the move, a nice hind end is complimented by strong hocks. Moved out well, but has a habit of carrying his tail a little high for me at times.
3rd; Westaway’s Abbilis Maleficent at Treranch
OD 1ST; Belvydach Proper Job. As above, however his tail had settled by the time he came back into the ring for this class . BD.
OB 1ST; Cox’s Cheritondax Chardonnay. A very pretty 19 month old pale self red with decent pigment for her colour. Lovely dark eye, excellent bite with large sparkling white teeth and good ear leathers. A decent length of neck, though to be hypercritical I would like an inch or two more, is set into a lovely lay of shoulder and return of Upper arm. She has a good keel and her front legs are as straight as a die, with her elbows tucked nicely into the rib. A strong and level topline with excellent tail set leads to a well made rear with strong broad hocks with a decent width between them. Moved out well when motivated, but again another who was giving her owner a bit of a hard time on occasions. All that said her quality won her BB & BOB.
2nd Pain’s Cwmdarhian Radio Gaga Ravensbeech. Here is a 3yo B & T of a lovely type. Her beautiful head with dark almond shaped eyes, excellent bite and good leathers is set onto a well shaped neck of good length. Super lay of shoulder and return of Upper arm with elbows tight to the body. Personally I would like a touch more width in front for me but that is being really picky. She has a level topline in stance but she has the habit of dropping behind the shoulder when she is bored, rather spoining her outline. A strong well muscled hind end is complimented by good broad hocks which she uses well on the move. Would love to meet her again when she is in a better frame of mind. Res BB.
