I was surprised at the “up and down” movement on some top winning exhibits that I had long admired from ringside. Heads were very mixed, some small eyes creeping in. All mouths were correct scissor bites, but some a tad narrow in jaw. All exhibits with 2 exceptions were within the breed standard. Having said that, I was more than pleased with my main winners.
MP Dog. (2, 1 absent)
1. Stevens Dolyharp Amadeus at Sudburyhill. B/tan 7 months baby , sweet head and expression, decent neck, nicely constructed all through. Moved very well for his age, keeping his topline, feet could be a tad tighter.
P.Dog. (1)
1.Gordon’s Allerbach’s Tiger Moth, 10 months cream in excellent coat, head proportions ok with good pigment, would like a slightly larger eye to soften the expression. Decent neck, ok topline, moved reasonably well if a touch erratic !
Junior D. ( 4)
A very nice class, the first three will probably change places many times.
1. RCC, Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Maverick. Lovely cream, well balanced and excellent proportions. Attractive head, dark well shaped eye and excellent pigment. Good neck and well placed shoulders, balanced angulation both ends, excellent topline kept on the move, lovely tight well padded feet. Looks better for having a little less coat, moved out soundly and freely to win here.
2. Phillips Summerview Here’s Hugo JW. Lovely b/tan I have long admired, most beautiful profile and his profile movement takes some beating. Lovely rich tan, in gleaming coat and condition, good neck and excellent lay of shoulder, good ribbing, moving a touch close in front today .
3. Cox’s Dolyharp Fidelio completed a lovely trio.
P.Grad D (3)
1. Mc Carthy’s Nagshall Dyce the Ice, cream of good make and shape, liked his head and expression, good neck forehand and ribbing, scored in topline and very sound movement, free and easy on the move.
2. Mayson and Nichols Charpurdy’s The Viscount. Red, liked his head and expression, reasonable neck and good topline. Front assembly ok, hard to assess on the move, a touch erratic, perhaps more training would help!
3. Poole’s Findowrie the Fusilier.
Limit Dog. (7, 1)

2. Drady’s Tolberg Black Adder at Indigo, lovely b/cream ,excellent size, attractive head with well shaped eyes but would like them slightly larger. Lovely shape and outline, moved out well holding a good topline, moved freely and soundly.
3. Poole’s Findowrie Mister McKye.
Open D ( 3)
Really strong class.
1. CC & BoB. BV. Wood’s Ch Wildstar Wrobinson. Lovely rich red, just oozes breed type, excellent make and shape all through. Loved his head and expression, excellent neck shoulder and keel, well held topline, moved as though he owned the ring, which today he did. In good coat, has excellent well padded feet, free and sound on the move, just a touch of elegance which I loved. Delighted to see him shortlisted in a lovely strong hound Group.
2. Lockett Walters Ralines McIntosh, another attractive red with excellent shape and balance, decent head, neck and forehand, well sprung ribs, lovely bone and substance. free and sound on the move, just lacks the chutzpah and touch of elegance of the winner. Close up for the RCC.
3. Weston and Johnson’s Ecotyne Devil’s Advocate. Completed a very good trio.
Veteran D. (1)
1, BV, Wood’s Wildstar Wrobinson.
MPB. (4,2)
1. Wallace Ralines Tina Peaches. Lovely clear red baby at her first show. Good coat for age, attractive head, dark well shaped eye, excellent pigment. Good overall shape, nice well padded feet. Showed and moved well even though a touch overawed in the noisy hall, promising baby.
2.Mccarthy’s Nagshall Di Maria, sweet cream baby, lovely bone and substance, attractive head, good dark eye and pigment, she moved well although running slightly uphill at the moment, i’m sure this will improve with age
Puppy B. (1)
1, BP, Mccarthy’s Nagshall the Odd Excuse, 11 month rich cream, lovely feminine head and expression, good reach of neck, loved her overall shape and balance. Free easy mover, kept her topline at all times, feminine with a touch of elegance, very promising.
Junior B. (4)
1. McCarthy’s N The Odd Excuse.
2. Dalton’s Zilcan Creme Caramel, another lovely cream, lots to like. Another with lovely head and expression, has substance and balance, liked her overall shape and make, free and sound on the move, unlucky to meet 1 in such good form.
3. Holton’s Aimee Rivendell Osha.
P.Grad B. (8, 3)
1. Siggee’s Essigynes Glacarium. Sh/cream, good head and pigment, liked her overall shape and make, decent forehand, well held topline, free easy and sound on the move.
2. Poole’s Findowrie Jessica Rose. Shaded cream of lovely type, loved her overall proportions, thought she would be my winner. Super on the move, beautiful shape and outline, moved really well, threw it away as she lacked confidence today.
3. McCarthy’s Nagshall Mystic Oddessy.
Limit B.(4)
1,CC, McCarthy’s Nagshall I’m so Dizzy JW. Super cream, well off for substance yet still feminine and a lovely slight touch of elegance. Sweet head and expression, lovely neck and forehand, decent length and spring of rib, well held topline. She moved freely and easily, very sound all through, topped with a good coat, she looked a picture. Pleased to hear this was her 3rd CC, she thoroughly deserves her crown.
2. RCC. Wood’s Wildstar Wrolanda, sweet red of lovely proportions, another out of the top drawer. Lovely shape and outline, excellent bone and feet, in good coat, she moved freely and soundly, just a tad narrower in front than 1 on the move today.
3. MCSorley’s Barlaine Golden Honey.
Open B ( 7,3)
1. Butler’s Ch Minard out of the Darque at Drymoor. well known B/t in gleaming coat and condition. Sweet feminine head and expression, pigment a little off today. Lovely profile movement, she holds her topline well at all times, uses her hocks on the move to drive round the ring, a little untidy up and down today, overall a worthy champion.
2. Drady’s Tolberg Cream Surprise at Indiko. lovely feminine cream, loved her shape and outline. Excellent head and expression, good forehand, lovely free sound mover. Probably due to the long wait she had just switched off, such a shame, moved soundly but without enthusiasm, but a bitch of great breed type, out of the top drawer.
3. Mason, Tolberg Beez Kneez at Teckeltown.
