Ch Nagshall I'm So Dizzy
We were blessed with lovely weather and luckily our ring was under a large tree which was much appreciated on the day. The grass was a little long which did hinder little legs but there was a very sporting atmosphere and all coped well with the very hot day.
As a non-breed specialist I really do not like the fact that the breed is no longer weighed and I feel that in the future ,if the breeders aren’t careful, the two sizes will be difficult to separate, there were definitely a couple of exhibits that were over the standard. I am sad the Royal Kennel Club has let this happen.
Very nice entry of 61 with very few absentees.
Veteran Dog. 1
1st: Broad’s ELDMOUR SEA LORD OF DINKIDUDLO
10 yrs very striking red, grand old man who is in top form, quality hound with a very handsome head and dark eye. Pity he stood alone but he is top quality and has a lot to like about him. Excellent front and hind co-ordination and super parallel movement. Correct size, good feet.
Minor Puppy Dog. 3
1st: Findlay’s HANBURYDAX LIFE OF RILEY
8 mths cream, lovely head and dark eye, super ears and set, nice puppy to go over with good overall balance , excellent length and depth with correct topline. More mature than classmates and when settled he moved soundly front and rear. Best Puppy Dog but was outmoved and lacked the maturity today of the excellent Puppy Bitch in the challenge. I am sure he has a promising future.
2nd: Brown’s DOLLYHARP ROSSINI AT GARBOSA,
Another cream and only just 7 mths , at first glance I thought he was going to be my winner, but still at that roly poly stage he just lacked the maturity and finish of above but a really nice youngster. Classic head and dark eye, has good size and excellent conformation, sound throughout with great style and presence.
3rd: Fairchild’s RESTINIM MR. PIP
Puppy Dog. 4 (1 abs)
1st: May’s SCRUMPTIOUS RED ON THE DOT
10 mths red, excellent head and dark eye, good length of neck into correct lay of shoulder, sound front and nice feet, Good depth of brisket, well ribbed back with the best topline in this class. Well co-ordinated front and rear with sound movement, just preferred the special style of the Minor Puppy in the challenge but he won this class with ease.
2nd:Bater’s ALL FOR SHOW
11 mths, mature red, slightly preferred the head of winner and would like more body and substance, not my style of hound but he really made the best of himself on the move.
3rd: Latham- Jackson’s REVOVICKI’S THEODORE BY URISHAY
Junior Dog. 2 (1 abs)
1st: Dalton & Beach’s ZARCREST RED IN THE ROOM JW
Super 15 mths red, top class hound who has all the style and presence that made me smile as he entered the ring. I like everything about him and although a little apprehensive at first standing in the long grass, he soon settled and absolutely made the ring his own. Superbly made throughout, although still a youngster he is mature and has that extra special quality that is difficult to explain. I did not hesitate to give him the CC and BOB amongst some very hot competition.
Yearling Dog. 3 (1 abs)
1st: Morrin & Barbi’s ZILCAN VANILLA ICE FOR ARLATDAX
15 mths shaded cream, another handsome mature youngster who has a lovely well balanced head and dark eye. Excellent overall construction with correct topline, standing and moving. Well bodied with great depth and length with good front and hind angulation. Good feet , stylish, easy sound mover. Looked good in the challenge but had to give way to maturity, another who will go far.
2nd: May’s HANISHAN FIRERY FOX
21 mths red, slightly heavier style than above, I liked his head ,dark eye and expression, good depth and length but rather overweight today which spoilt his topline on the move, not quite the feet or hind drive of winner.
Limit Dog.3
1st: Steven’s DOLYHARP AMADEUS AT SIDBURYHILL
Super b/tan, nearly 2 yrs and a very handsome, mature hound. Lovely to go over with super body, weight and size with flowing angles, all in the right place. I loved his head and expression, ears and set, looked good standing and moving, keeping his topline at all times. Excellent feet. So stylish and in great coat and presentation. Well deserved res CC.
2nd: Small’s MINARD DARQUE RED FOR DEVONDAX JW
22 mths red, I really like his head and eye, very nicely constructed throughout with excellent topline and side movement, good tail set and carriage. Not quite the reach in front of winner but he has a lot to like about him.
3rd: Broad’s BRONIA WOLFGANG PUCK
Open Dog 3
1st: Mitchell’s CH. BRONIA MAVERICK
2 yrs cream, well balanced head and dark eye, lovely front with good depth and correct feet, well ribbed back with correct topline, nicely set tail which is well carried on the move. Well angulated hind quarters , sound parallel mover with good drive front and rear. Just preferred the presence and style of my CC and res CC in the challenge but another excellent hound, well presented and handled.
2nd: McCarthy’s NAGSHALL DUTCH ODYSSEY
4 yrs more mature red, I did slightly prefer his head to above but although well bodied and has a lot to like about him he is not as well co-ordinated front and rear as the winner. He has good style but not as impressive on the move but his handler did get the best out of him.
3rd: Poole’s FINDOWRIE THE FUSILEER
Veteran Bitch 2 (1 abs)
1st: Mason’s CH. TOLBERG BEEZ KNEEZ AT TECKLETOWN
8 yrs red, very aptly named ,she is a lovely bitch, mature with super head and dark eye. Stands absolutely sound and a pleasure to go over, in excellent body ,weight and size, great topline at all times, moved soundly with correct feet. Good tail set and carriage. In great coat and well presented, pressed hard for the CC but just outmoved by the youngster today. Res CC and Best Veteran.
Minor Puppy Bitch 6
Very nice class with some promising youngsters.
1st: Poole’s FINDOWRIE ELANA ROSE
Very mature b/tan at nearly 9 mths, well balanced with a lovely outline and topline, more settled on the move than her classmates she is well constructed throughout, in the challenge for Best Puppy she was outmatured and not quite the drive and reach of the Puppy Bitch winner.
2nd: Steven’s SIDBURYHILL SONGBIRD
Absolutely gorgeous b/tan, only just 6 mths and I really loved her, so similar in style to her excellent sire who won the res CC today, she is definitely one for the future. At first my winner but she really did show her age on the move and was not as settled as the more mature winner but will watch her future with interest.
3rd: Cox’s DOLYHARP GRACE KELLY AT CHERITODAX
Puppy Bitch. 6
1st : Mason’s CROWNLAKES MILLION DREAMS
11 mth red, very pretty head and dark eye, long neck into well laid shoulders, excellent front and hind angulation with correct feet, sound front with great reach, good depth and length of ribbing. Lovely hindquarters which she used well on the move with excellent drive. Good tail set and carriage. Excelled in the challenge for Best Puppy beating some promising youngsters with her excellent style and presence and so settled on the move. Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy.
2nd: McSorley’s BARLAINE MIDSUMMER MAGIC
9 mths b/cream, lovely colouring with an excellent feminine head and dark eye. Well bodied with great depth and ribbing, very nice puppy who is less mature than above and not as settled on the move today but sound front and rear.
3rd: Bater’s DAXIEMOORS BLOOM OF TULIPS
Junior Bitch . 11 (1abs)
A very nice quality class the first 2 were very difficult to separate.
1st: Tubb’s WESTWILLOW SWEET PEA
Just 12 mths cream, excellent half sister to previous class winner and not dissimilar in style and type. Although still immature she is a lovely youngster and has great quality and presence, a super mover she won this excellent class easily but still looked quite a baby in the challenge for the CC. I liked her a lot . Excellent presentation and handling.
2nd: WESTAWAY MINARD WHISPERING ANGEL AT TRERANCH
14 mths red who at first glance was my winner but just slightly preferred the head and style of above; still a very well constructed hound who has a lot to like about her . Excellent sound , parallel movement with good reach and drive behind. Close decision, two promising youngsters.
3rd: Ham’s CISELSIG HEY THERE DELILAH.
Yearling Bitch . 9 (1 abs)
1st: Norris’ CRISCAN QUE PASO
21 mths red, very pretty girl with a lovely head , dark eye and correct expression. She oozes quality and type, loved everything about her and she never put a foot wrong, in fine body, coat and condition she moved so soundly and her side movement was superb, flowing effortlessly around the ring. Pleased to give her the CC. Very similar in style to the dog CC winner but he had that little extra pizzazz to win BOB.
2nd: Tubb’s WESTWILLOW SWEET PEA.
Winner of Junior B
3rd: Heather’s RAVENSBEECH FLORENTINE WHITEORCHARD JW
Post Graduate Bitch. 5
First two very difficult to separate.
1st: Brown’s DEVONCREAM MYSTIQUE JEWEL
Just 2yrs cream, pretty feminine head and dark eye. Well balanced with excellent overall conformation, well bodied with good substance , nice feet with correct front and hind co-ordination, sound throughout. First two were difficult to separate but just preferred winners outline and topline on the side movement on the final run.
2nd: Way’s RALINE WAYS AND MEANS JW
21 mths cream, slightly heavier overall than winner and was at first my winner but slightly preferred Jewel’s head. Quality bitch who has excellent style and presence, in fine coat and presentation she is sound front and rear with good reach in front and drive behind, just a little fond of her tail today on the move .
3rd: McCarthy’s NAGSHILL THE ODD EXCUSE JW
Limit Bitch. 3
1st: Findlay’s HANBURY DAX FLEUR JAC
3 yrs cream, I like her head and dark eye, feminine throughout with excellent flowing lines and correct front and hind angulation. Correct feet , great depth and length and well bodied with lovely topline which won her the class as I slightly preferred her sidemovement and outline on the final run . Sound front and rear.
2nd: McSorley’s BARLAINE GOLDEN HONEY
3yrs red, dam of the promising 2nd Puppy Bitch winner,Honey has a very pretty classic head and dark eye. Excellent overall type and size with sound, easy movement . These two were both classy ladies but just preferred the winner on the final run.
3rd: Davies & Burgess’ BIJOUXDAX ETERNAL DREAMS
Open Bitch. 8
Class of mixed styles
1st: Poole’s CH. FINDOWRIES FINESSE
Very stylish red and very mature at only 19 mths , lovely head and dark eye, long neck into excellent lay of shoulder , sound front with correct feet , good depth and length of brisket. Nice size and well bodied with correct topline. Hind angulation is excellent with sound , easy drive and front reach. .Lovely tail, set and carriage, very strong contender in the Challenge and at only 19 months and already having her title she really does have a great future .
2nd: Walter’s RALINES PROUD MARY
Nearly 3 yrs, mature cream, nicely constructed hound who looked standing with excellent type and substance. Nice to go over and in good body and size, just outmoved today by the very energetic youngster.
3rd: Mason’s CROWNLAKES QUEEN BEE JW
Jenny Dove ( Judge)
