Firstly I want to say thank you to the Longhaired Dachshund Club for inviting me to judge at their championship show, and to the hardworking committee for facilitating a fabulous day with a great atmosphere, which felt like a traditional show. Now that so many shows have joined together with championship shows we do seem to have lost that. I want to thank all exhibitors who gave me a great entry, with many lovely examples of the breed to go over, and my two ring stewards for keeping me organised. Special mention also to Clare McDonald for a lovely lunch!

Red boy not showing his age at all, in good condition. Nice size, good head, eye and length of neck, moved proudly and freely.
2nd: WESTON & JOHNSON Ch Ecotyne Devil's Advocate
Another nice boy that doesn’t look to be a veteran, in good coat and condition. Preferred the overall elegance of 1 on the move.

Happy baby puppy who was enjoying his day out. Good front and rear quarters, level topline on the stance and moved well for a baby of his age.

Nice baby who has true movement both fore and aft. Good head, length of neck into well placed shoulders, kept a level topline both on the stance and the move, moved well. Lovely coat and condition. I’m sure will have a promising future.

Another baby in excellent coat and condition, of nice size. Good shape overall however preferred the rear movement of 1.

Good size and type, with enough bone and substance, with good ground clearance. Really strode round the ring with his true movement. Nice head, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and correct in hind angulations. Best Puppy in Breed.
2nd: POOLE Findowrie The Field Marshal
Another nice boy. Good head and neck with prominent forechest and overall nice shape. True movement fore and after. Another promising puppy.

Superstar of the day and a great example of the breed. Lovely size and type, cream in excellent coat and condition. Correct in all proportions, with good ground clearance and true, free movement, really using his correct hind quarters to power round the ring. Complied well with his handler and really stood out in the line-up. Pleased to award him the CC, which gave him the well deserved title of champion. Best of Breed and Best in Show.

Loved this boy. Lovely head and expression in outstanding condition. Nice size
and type, all in proportion, prominent forechest, correct keel, good length of
ribbing and correct hind quarters. Moved soundly with drive, and worked very
well with his handler. I hope there are a lot more top wins for this boy. RCC.

Lovely temperament, very friendly boy. Nice size with plenty of coat. Kept a level topline both on the stance and on the move.

In good condition, moved well. Correct front, howeverslightly long in hock which meant he slightly lost his topline on the move.

Two nice boys, both of good size however I preferred the movement of 1. Good head and reach of neck, b/t with nice markings in good condition. Correct hindquarters moved freely.

Good head, coat with clear markings , keeping a level topline at all times. Slightly narrow in front movement and not quite the elegance of 1.
