Thank you to the committee of Paignton for this appointment for Mini Long haired Dachshunds, to the exhibitors for their entries and excepting my decisions with good grace. Although there was quite a bit of variation in type I found that mostly the quality was very good, condition and weight on the whole was very pleasing, mostly the dentition on the examples today were good. Being critical one or two heads would have been more pleasing to me if they were a little longer and hound like rather than short and broad. Temperament displayed today was also very good. It was a pleasure to judge the breed and I was delighted with my winners on the day. Special congratulations the BCC winner & BOB shortlisted in the Hound group and my special beginners and RBCC winner, winning the Special Beginners Hound group – Well done

Church Mrs K, Chriskims Golden Ticket at Floxie, Beautiful cream bitch, presented in lovely coat and condition and expertly handled, stunning head, dark almond eye, long muscular neck graceful lines into well laid shoulders, balanced body of correct length for build, deep chest with lovely keel, ribs well back, sufficient ground clearance to see the excellent movement, upper thigh set at correct angle and sufficient muscle, standing she’s a picture and moving she came into her own in tune with her owner.- loved her, RBCC well done and group 1 special beginners.- a bright future ahead for both owner and dog.

2. Parrott K A & Clifton A, Davydon Ocean Dawn, Pretty red bitch, in lovely coat and condition, nice legs and feet , balanced body, nice moderate neck and clean shoulders, good tail carriage, however was rather nervous hence the movement was a little erratic today, I’m sure this can be overcome with some practice and she’s worth putting the work in..

Brace Mrs CG, Allforus Vanilla Ice for Xemxija, 8 months old cream, beautiful coat and condition, masculine head, good pigment, moderately long body with well set legs and feet, deep keel, with good length of rib beautifully angulated and sufficient muscle tone, straight and parallel rear legs allowing good straight movement. Tail held well and good topline an move. Promising puppy.

2. Phillips Mrs J & Mr P, Dizzydaxs Storming Norman at Summerview 6 ½ months cream, stunning head good front assembly with deep brisket, nice body length in proportion good neck and well laid back shoulders, good rear quarters firm and muscular, excellent topline on the move holding his tail well, just lost out on lack of cat which he needs to complete the picture, still very young and very promising.

1. `Woodvine-Shone Miss H, Hanishan Starlight Express, Black & Tan, beautifully put together all in correct proportions, good head and dark almond eye, correct ear set, moderate neck into well placed shoulders, ribs extending well back and good length of sternum, firm muscular hind quarters, stood well on all four legs, in tiptop coat and condition handled expertly, sufficient ground clearance, allowing him to move out like a dream covering the ground like he meant business. Fit for function boy. Pushed hard for CC however, loved him RDCC

Grose Miss O S, Belvydach Cupids Chokehold, Black and cream, stunning boy lovely masculine head, quality boy unfortunate to meet 1 today , good legs and feet nice length of body excellent angulation good neck and shoulders, in lovely coat and condition , moved out well around the ring, adequate ground clearance allow movement to be viewed from all angles

Bater Miss J, All for Show, Shaded red, Nice balanced type of boy with no exaggeration, excellent front assembly, good Keel, nice placed ribs , loin short and strong, good muscle, , nicely angulated good neck gently arched to correct sloping shoulders, good legs and feet, nice in profile and on the move, striding our well around the ring.

2. Turton Mrs K, Cornwalldaxs Midnight Star at Damoradaxies, In lovely coat and condition and handled well, masculine head of correct proportions, good front and straight legs closeknit feet, good neck, firm muscular hind quarters body balanced and adequate ground clearance, moved well around the ring.

Thompson Mr L, Rivandell Sirrius Black Jw, Cream , lovely type so balanced throughout, stunning masculine head correct shape nothing overdone, lovely deep almond eye, displayed the correct Dachshund faithful good temperament, Excellent coat, lovely fore chest and depth, ribs well extending back, short loin good big rump and well muscled quarters good angulation, good neck and shoulders, all came together when he moved out so well a fit for function boy and owned the ring so eye catching, DCC.

2. Latham Jackson Mr P & Mrs A, Revdvicki’s Theodore By Urishay JW, Black & Tan with more substance than 1 , a different type, however, balanced all over, and in proportion, excellent front assembly with good chest and depth, good legs and close knit feet, , good neck and sloping shoulders, moved well around the ring holding his topline.

Drady Mrs K M, Ch Indiko Fire and Ice,JW, Cream boy, with a super hound head, lovely pigment and good dark eye, in excellent coat and condition, super neck gentle arched into sloping shoulders, loved his front assembly with good keel. Well back ribs and shout loin, nice ground clearance legs and feet with sufficient bone, nice angulation and well-muscled quarters allowing him to drive from behind and stride out , nice example to the breed.

2. Stevens Mr A & Mrs K, Ch Dolyharp Amadeus At Sidburyhill , another lovely balanced dog, Black & Tan, super in front with depth of chest and straight legs close knit feet, 1 & 2 could easily change places today, good angulation good ground clearance moved well, nice neck and shoulders, used his firm rump and muscled quarters to his advantage on the move.

Woodvine-Shone, Ch Hanishan Fire Cracker, 7 years old shaded red, in superb coat and condition he was not showing his age at all and gave the younger dogs a run for their money a typical example of the breed displaying the lovely qualities, lovely temperament that is desirable, good front and depth of chest, well back ribs short in loin, straight legs and close knit feet, good masculine head that screams hound, good dark almond eye, lovely neck and shoulders free flowing movement, considered for top honours, a worthy BVIB

1. .Latham Jackson Mr P Mrs A, Urishay Netsuke, Black & Tan girl of 7 months, sweetest of heads with correct dark eye and ear set, lovely in front standing on good legs and feet , lovely length of ribbing and short loin, nicely angulated for one so young, lovely rear quarters allowing her to propel her around the ring head held high and good topline.

2. Cox Mrs P, Cheritondax Riesiling very pretty cream girl just 6 months old, much to like from this very young baby, I think she has much to give for the future, nice body length, good neck and shoulders balanced throughout, good neck and shoulders, moved well enjoying her day at the show.

Drady Mrs K M, Bronia Celestial At Indiko, lovely cream girl of 9 months so mature for her age, beautiful feminine head god almond eye, moderate neck gently arched and flowing into well placed shoulders, super front, nice pronounced oval keel, good body length neatly tucked elbows adequate angulation front and rear, excellent topline on the move as she strode out around the ring so confident. BPiB.

2. Poole, Mrs M E, Findowrie Forget Me Not 10 months old Black and Tan, unfortunate to meet 1 today, however nice type with a lovely head and eye, excellent front assembly, good legs and feet, nice depth and length of rib, good angulation front and rear well placed shoulders, moved well.

Woodvine – Shone Miss H, Hanishan Solar Express beautiful shaded red in nice coat and condition, balanced throughout from nose to tail, good neck and shoulders in correct proportions, well muscled in her rear quarters which she used to her advantage when she moved around the ring, holding a good topline, nice legs and feet, adequate ground clearance.

Dunhill Mrs R A & Lockett-Walters Mrs R, Gellijams Wildest Dreams, nicely put together cream, lovely construction good body length excellent front assembly stands well on all fours, lovely substance, good length of ribnice neck & shoulders, sweet head with good pigment, moved out well just lacking her furnishings to complete the picture.

Cox Mrs P, Dolyharp Grace Kelly at Cheritondax JW, wow , loved this lady when she stepped into the ring, delightful cream fit for function, yet the grace of a showgirl screaming Look at me, , sweetest of heads, excellent dark oval eye, excellent front assembly elbows tucked, deep chest , in excellent coat and condition, super neck gentle arched into sloping shoulders, loved her well back ribs and short loin, nice ground clearance super legs and feet with sufficient bone, nice angulation and well-muscled quarters allowing her to drive from behind and stride out using the whole ring, could not take my eyes off her, BCC & BOB shortlisted in a large group well done

2. Holtom Miss A, Rivendell, Osha, cream girl balanced all over, good head nice eye with good pigment, nicely placed shoulders and moderate neck, lovely firm muscular quarters, nice length of rib, used the ring well moving and striding out, holding a good topline.

Poole Mrs M E Findowrie Elana Rose, Black and Tan girl, different type to 1 but nothing to dislike, well put together and a close up decision , excellent front assembly nice oval chest good legs and feet, balanced construction, good angulation, good neck and laid back shoulders, good mover around the ring.
