Excellent entry numerically and I was delighted to see improvement in type and coat. Movement particularly length too stride, still hard to find. Presentation better but still too many that have been attacked by blades of some kind or dare I say it “clippers”. Hard work with finger and thumb is the only way to achieve the natural look as distinct from that of a toy terrier. Quite a few were soft in feet and muscular condition which road work would sort out and would have altered my placing. Delighted the wires achieved not only BIS but PB too.
SPECIAL UNDER 10lb. (4). 1. Mcleod and Formstone’s, Curtisel Quality Thyme at Janjac. Neat and well made with a harsh jacket. Strong topline standing and moving. 2. Bathelor’s, Cairo’s Lusy Lastic of Algiestone. Delightful Sound Cheery Character. Nice head with dark eye. Not the coat of winner. 3. Rathbone’s, Brialind Fenella.
MPD. (6). 1. Wood’s, Wildstar Wedgewood. BP and BPIS. Outstanding! Correct Dachshund outline he keeps at all times. Long ribbing which was hard to find in later classes. Many had barreled short ribbing and some even had flared ribs. Very powerful quarters. 2. Blackburn’s, Stargang Xcalibur. Promising. Nice head, dark eye. Good top and underline. At the moment gives the illusion of being short but think this will resolve itself when he loses his puppy fat. 3. Seidebusch and Schulz’s, Loretto Prince of Spades to Doubledax.
PD. (8). 1. W.Wedgewood. 2. Waters’, Stargang Bolt from the Blue. I just loved this dapple. Sweetest head, strong good sized teeth. Far too many exhibitson the day still had tiny front teeth. He has lovely lines at all times and moves so well in profile. Just needs to tighten in front to trouble the best. 3. Wilberg’s, Stargang Xacutive at Kanix.
JD. (6). 1. Thompson’s, Nordach Jack of Diamonds with Sprengetta. Lovely head on strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Nice legs and feet. Good length of ribbing. He is well muscled and this must contrubute to his excellent movement. 2. Thorn-Andrew’s, Drakesleat Spaghetti Juntc. Classy exhibit, good length. Strong legs and feet. He moves well but lacked the purpose of Jack which affected his topline at times. 3. S.Bolt form the Blue.
PGD. (4). 1. Welcumen’s, Red Shadow. RCC. Nice coated red. Excellent front construction which resulted in really free true front movement which was hard to find on the day. He has equally good quarters. Good top and underline. Very well presented. 2. Holmes’s, Cyrtisey Sweet Basil at Cazzdan. Lovely dog to go over. Nice head, dark eye, excellent legs and feet. Well muscled. He moves truly but not the length of stride of Red Shadow. 3. McDowell’s, Bulliff Ruffle.
LD. (6). 1. Dunn’s, Cairos Tight Lastic. Really nice dog of excellent size. Super head and neck, well laid shoulders, good forechest. A little more muscular condition would have made him a strong contender for top honours. 2. Hassell’s, Sanmiks What ya Knowjoe. Masculine dog with strong topline. Moved out well and truly both ways. Nice legs and feet. Nice body jacket but a little soft on head and legs. 3. Presnail’s, Dacatec Jackoozee.
OD. (5). 1. Wilberg and Lampero’s, Freckle-Face Kind of Blue. CC. Really smart brindle dapple put down and shown to perfection. In hard condition. He is well balanced with good neck and the best of legs and feet. Strong top and underline at all times but it is his true ground covering movement is where he excels. Interested to learn he is Finnish import but out of a Stargang dam. 2. Horswell’s, Drakesleat Surely You Just. Lovely to go over on the table. Strong head, neck, topline and very good quarters. Very true coming and going. Carrying rather heavy jacket but of good texture. 3. Morris’s, Bretarario Adagio.
MPB. (12). 1. Presnail’s, Taree Xanthippe. RCC. Oh how I fell for this baby! One’s hands just flowed over on the table. Sweet head, good neck and excellent front condition. She moves truly and freely keeping her lines at all times. Excellent harsh red jacket with really dark pigmentation. 2. Sharp’s, Axstera in the Red. Another cracking baby. Half sister to winner and shares so many of her virtues. Lovely profile at all times. Excellent temperament and again a free true mover. 3. Blackburn’s, Stargang Xquisite.
PB. (15). 1. Presnail’s, Taree Winnonah. Very dark brindle with good harsh coat. Good legs and feet. True ground covering movement. . Good top and underline. 2. Summers and William’s, Whitewebbs Contralto at Metokaf. Small red with pretty feminine head. Good forechest, ribbing. Strong quarters. 3. Dunstall’s, Metcroft Just For Fun.
JB. (6). 1. Wilberg’s, Magical Finnish at Kanix. Neat brindle with really harsh jacket. Quality head, good neck going into well laid shoulders, prominent forechest. Nice legs and feet. In the challenge was a strong contender for top honours but although she moved truly covering ground lacked enthusiasm. 2. McLeod and Formstone’s, Segunda Feira at Janjac. Nice outline at all times and moves soundly. Not the coat of winner. 3. Rathbone’s, Brialnad Fenella.
PGB. (8). 1. Hallett’s, Loretto Festive Bizniz. Pretty head, good neck. Strong topline at all times. Excellent quarters resulting in strong hind action. Shown in her vest so nothing was hidden. 2. Squire’s, Wirehall Winnie Walpole. Neat brindle with good jacket. Nice front and quarters. Inclined to fly her tail which spoils her topline. 3. Allen’s, Gold Penny for Araura.
LB. (10). 1. Horswell’s, Drakesleat See Voo Play. Carrying a heavy jacket which gave the impression she was too low but when I went over her on the table found she was in fact well balanced height to length. Good legs and feet. Prominent forechest. She moved well. 2. Hardy’s, Kushwin Aphrodite. On the first run round thought her my winner. Lovely profile on the move. She is so well balanced,. Nice coat. Winner just had that bit truer coming and going. 3. Blackburn’s, Stargang Mystical Finnish.
OB. (10). 1. Thorn-Andrew’s, Drakeslate Lettuce Pray. CC and BOB and BIS. Her third CC after 10 reserves. Probably she has been the bridesmaid becuase she is not a flashy eyecatcher instead a really honest well made sound Dachshund in Miniature. Going over on the table I found her hard to fault and her movement true and ground covering. 2. Easte’s, Kommombo Misty Day. Lovely outline standing and moving. Excellent head and neck going into well laid shoulders. Nice coat. Not as true behind as winner which might be helped by more muscle. 3. Giles’s, Gayavec Daisy May.
VB. (5). 1.
Gorton-Barker’s, Kotchs Smartypants. In excellent condition. Good head and
expression. Well ribbed. Strong topline at all times. Free mover. 2. Seidenbusch
and Schilze’s, Welcumen Jennifer of Doubledax. Nice head and neck. Good body.
Moved well for her age. 3. Price’s, Samlane Xanthe.
