Dachshunds
MIN WIRE HAIRED
I enjoyed this variety and thank exhibitors for the wonderful entry and the
sporting way in which my decisions were received. I think the breed has improved
quite a lot and we are losing the straight stifles that were so prevalent. Many
were too narrow in front - something to watch out for.
VD. (6). 1. Fulton’s, Ch. Bothlyn Master Craftsman. A grand fellow rising 12 years. Good forechest and shoulders. Correct hind angulation. He moved with drive. He was obviously enjoying his day out. 2. Mueller’s, Ch. Drakesleat Fred Bare at Rabymere. A well balanced dog. Soundly constructed. Level topline. Moved well. Losing teeth. 3. Dunstall’s, Ch. Samlane. Zingaro of Metcroft. A bright lad. Was running up on the day and tail appeared high set. Moved out well.
SpPD. (4). 1. Blackburn’s, Stargang Micky Finn. A very promising youngster who will, no doubt, get his title. Excellent forechest, with good layback of shoulder. Well ribbed, firm topline, good hindquarters, good harsh coat, moved well. Res CC. 2 Wood and Hardy’s Wildstar Webster. Another first class exhibit, liked him a lot. He had all the good points of the winner, but not quite so settled. 3 Morton’s Freecloud Kwikly Does It at Cotherstone. Good forechest, well ribbed body, well angulated hindquarters. Moved soundly.
SpJD (4) 1 Fulton’s Jonkaths Time Traveller to Bothlyn. Good head, strong neck on well placed shoulders. Excellent forechest, well ribbed body. Parallel movement front and rear and moved out with great style. 2 Gaunt’s Bigglesmere Ron Weasley. Dark brindle. Good ribbing and hind angulation. Moved out well. 3 Fletcher’s Spiredals Winnats Pocket. A top weight youngster, he was disinclined to move out, but appeared sound.
SpYD (6) 1 Jonkath’s Time Traveller to Bothlyn. 2 Dunk’s Loretto Snuffbox. Very nice type. Good coat, masculine head and well placed shoulders. Good hindquarters, moved soundly. 3 Fraser’s Stargang Clown Prince of Donlaynes. Very pleasing to go over. Good forechest and shoulders. Firm topline, moved out well.
PGD (12) 1 Hassell and McLeod’s Janjac Costa Pack It. Will do a lot of winning. He is so sound and well balanced. Good length with long ribbing. Very good hindquarters, parallel movement coming and going. 2 Miller’s Scotmariner Skua. Another very nice sound dog. Good front and shoulders. Good ribbing and firm topline. Moved well. 3 Fraser’s Stargang Clown Prince of Donlaynes.
LD (9) 1 Gorton Baker’s Axters Bindaree Von Kotch. Gave a good outline. Nice head, good length of body with excellent ribbing. He moved out very well with good hind thrust. Well handled. 2 Horswell’s Drakesleat Von Der Full. Smaller type, would like a little more of him, but is very well constructed throughout. Not the easiest dog to show. 3 Russell’s Kevocklea Twelfth Knight. Good head and shoulders. Nive length of body and moved soundly.
OD (11) 1 Dance’s Ch Ir Ch Emem Nipper in the Air. LOng and low and very well balanced - catches the eye immediately. He is so good to go over. Prominent forechest, excellent ribbing, very good hind angulation. Firm topline, moved absoluately true. CC. 2 Horswell and Kubota’s Jap Ch Drakesleat JP Baro Trier (Imp). A very sound dog. Good front with correct width between the forelegs. Well ribbed body, good topline. Taller type than the winner. 3 Wilberg’s Ch Stargang Xcaliber at Kanix. Very nice type. Good harsh coat. Good ribbing, firm topline and moved well. A worthy Champion.
Good Citizen D (3) 1 Loretto Snuffbox. 2 Seidenbusch and Schulze’s Loretto Prince of Spades to Doubledax. Good shoulders and hindquarters. Sound mover. 3 Dunn’s Ir Ch Cairo’s Tight Lastic. Very nice shape, but lost on movement.
Vet B (2) 1 Price’s Ch Samlane Ariadne. I have judged her before and she is still as good to go over 2 years later. Long, low and level. Good all through and a sound mover. 2 Forrest’s Clannad Supa Dupa among Morailmadadh. Not the front of the winner, or so strong in the head, but has a well ribbed body and good hindquarters. Moved well.
SpPB (9) 1 Kennedy’s Moonshe Modesty Blaze. Well coated. Good head and eye. Well placed shoulders. Nice forechest and excellent ribbing. Moved well and kept a very good outline. 2 Curtis’ Curtisey Rough at the Top. Nice well made bitch, close up to the winner. However, on the day she was roaching her back, otherwise little to fault. 3 Presnail’s Taree Campbells Creek. Well balanced. Good front and rear, but still at that sloppy puppy stage. Just needs to firm up.
SpJB (14) 1 Gaunt’s Bigglesmeres Kate Weasley. Very sound, I liked her overall construction. Excellent hindquarters which she certainly used on the move. Parallel movement coming and going. 2 Horswell’s Drakesleat Why Knot. Lovely type, liked her a lot. She has everything you want, but needs to firm up in hindquarters. 3 Crossman’s Janter Jen Tillmans Relish. Similar type with good front, nice spring of rib, well angulated hindquarters. Moved soundly.
SpYB (16) 1 Wilberg’s Stargang Picket Line at Kanix. Liked her when I awarded her Best Puppy at the Great Joint, and she is maturing well. Keeps a super outline at all times. Harsh coat, lovely head and good length of neck. Good front and ribbing, firm topline. Was on her toes the whole time. Super parallel movement. Litter sister to PD. What a successful litter. Res CC. 2 Blackburn’s Stargang Blue Frackles. Dapple, a little lower to the ground than the winner, but has all her qualities. I think she is very promising. The use of a Finnish import has certainly worked for this kennel. 3 Hadden’s Wellbury Kalinka. Was so good to go over on the table. So soundly constructed, but the handler needs to have more control on the move.
PGB (15) 1 Fulton’s Bothlyn Blue Mist. Very good forechest and shoulders, as did the other exhibits from this kennel. Good spring of rib and short loin. Strong, well angulated hindquarters. Moved very well, as one would expect with such sound construction. 2 Hutchings’ Molloney Unique Recipe. Another lovely exhibits. Good coat, good length of body and excellent ribbing. Good top and underlines, and another good mover. 3 Hadden’s Wellbury Tears of Angels. Very nice type. Litter sister to 3rd in previous class, and again so sound and well constructed. I am sure they will do a lot of winning.
LB (19) 1 Barney’s Varrami Vera Right. The star of the day. What a showgirl, super temperament. You would find it hard to fault her construction. She is strong and well muscled, and looks as if she could work all day. Parallel movement front and rear and she really drives around the ring. I was pleased to award her her 2nd CC and Best of Breed. 2 Blackburn’s Stargang Karaoke Queen. A quality bitch, so good to go over on the table. My only critisism was that she was moving close. 3 Amos’s Taree Zoya. A nice type. Good front and shoulders, but not the ribbing of those above. Moved out well.
OB (15) 1 Horswell and Kubota’s Jap Ch Drakesleat JP Simon Holly (Imp). A confusing name on a very sound bitch! Good front and shoulders and good top and underline. Good length of ribbing and short loin. Moved well. 2 Horswell’s Drakesleat See Voo Play. An equally good bitch. Good head and eye. Harsh coat. Well filled front and good layback of shoulder. Short loin, strong hindquarters, moved out well. 3 Vincenzi and Bavchal’s It Ch It’s Me Del Gotha. Completed a trio of lovely bitches. Very good all through, I am sure she could gain her English title. Was very well presented and handled.
Good Citizen B (2) 1 Seidenbusch and Schulze’s Larklinns
Ruby Tuesday at Doubledax. Nice little bitch, but was being difficult for her
owner.
