MINIATURE WIRE-HAIRED
Small but high quality entry. I found that coat texture has improved tremendously with the introduction of the Scandinavian lines. I was delighted to be told that both the dog and bitch CC winners were gaining their crowns, congratulations. After the rain for the Min Longs, I decided to come inside under canvas, the grass was longer inside than out, but at least it was drier.
PD. (8). 1. Morton’s, Molloney Terra Fried at Cotherstone. Most promising class of youngsters all the way down the line. Very dark brindle lad, who must have a promising future. Held an excellent outline. Appealed in head, neck and topline. Balanced angulation front and rear. Excellent coat coming through. 2. Blackburn’s, Kanix Hugo to Stargang. Another exciting youngster of slightly different type. Perhaps more masculine in outlook. Again excellent harsh texture coat. Appealed in outline. Did not have the width of winner. 3. Robertson and Pettit’s, Soletrader Dax Factor.
JD. (2). 1. Allan and Dick’s, Auchans Roger the Dojer. Very smart harsh coated lad with good bone. Well filled front with width. Appealed in outline. Moves out smartly and soundly. Would like to see more furnishing to face but this is the price you pay for such an excellent coat. Close up in challenge. 2. Russell’s, Russteck Orsino. How pleasing to be able to say that this was another harsh coated lad (coats have improved in leaps and bounds). Unlucky to meet the winner, not the shoulder placement or outline of winner.
PGD. (3). 1. Fulton’s, Stargang Crafty Finnish at Bothlyn. Super outline on this lad. Again of excellent type from this kennel. Coat, especially leg hair, was excellent. Moved soundly but a bit reluctant on this uneven surface. 2. Dunk’s, Loretto Snuffbox Sh CM. Not the coat or outline of winner. 3. MacDonald’s, Lordscarnie Knight in Love.
LD. (2). 1. Fox and Gadsby’s, Laicsyde Napoleon Solo with Afterglow. Pleased for type. Good width through the front. Excellent coat, kept outline on the move. 2. Dunk’s, Bothlyn Knight Dreamer at Bronia. Not the coat or outline of winner.
OD. (3). 1. Thorn-Andrews’, Drakesleat Otto Bahn. Super young lad of 17 months. D/br, lovely head, neck and topline. Balanced angulation front and rear. Good coat. I feel that the best is still to come with maturity should be stunning. Was pleased to be able to award him his third CC. Well deserved. 2. Wilberg’s, Ch. Kanix Duncan. This lad was so very close up. Much more mature in his body width and ribbing and like all this affix, coat texture was excellent. I preferred the length and upperarm of winner. Can carrry his title with pride. Res CC.
PB. (4). 1. Blackburn’s, Kanix Hilda at Stargang. Lovely headed young bitch. Reachy neck. Well filled front with good width. Pleasing length of upperarm. Snug fitting elbows, very mature and well developed body. Well sprung ribs, extending well back, firm loin into well developed hindquarters. All wrapped up in a superb jacket. Must have a great future. BP. 2. Scott’s, Wolferlow Slack Alice. Very pleasing youngster of top quality. Lovely width and body. Coat of good texture. Pleased in top and underline. Just failed in upperarm to winner. 3. Richards’, Wentwood What If.
JB. (6). 1. Thorn-Andrews’, Ch. Drakesleat Lettuce Owt. Clear winner. D/brindle litter sister to DCC. What a super litter this must have been, of the highest quality and typical of the Drakesleat affix. Attractive in head and expression. Good forehand assembly. Balanced angulation front and rear. Shapely body with good length ribbing. Pleased in top and underline. Still to reach full maturity. Res CC. 2. Fulton’s, Bothlyn Singing the Blues. Attractive youngster in a tiny package. Lots of body length and reachy neck. Pleasing outline. Stripped out, but harsh coat coming through. Needing to mature in body. 3. Fox’s, Summer Chantilly Lace at Laicsyde.
PGB. (6). 1. Thomson’s, Larklinn Star of Destiny. Very attractive d/br with lots to like. Balanced outline with lots of body length. Prominent well filled oval forechest. Mature body. Pleased in top and underline. Another with excellent coat. 2. Brechin and Herbert’s, Stargang Ilex. Smaller, good coated, pleasing well filled front. Not the outline or length of body to match winner. 3. Whitehouse and Evill’s, Ubu Abi.
LB. (2). 1. Wilberg’s, Stargang Picket Line at Kanix. High quality light brindle with superb outline, double coat of excellent texture. Attractive head, arched reachy neck to level topline. Shoulders well laid back and with good length to upper arm. Elbows close fitting. Well filled oval front with good turn of stifle and short hocks, enabling her to power around the ring with good reach and drive. She is such a showgirl, loves every minute in the ring. Maturity and showmanship tipped the scales in her favour. CC her third and BOB.
OB. (4). 1. Blackburn’s, Ch. Stargang Xquisite. R/brindle of excellent type. Typical of this kennel. Gave her puppy class the last time I judged her and can only reiterate what I said then. Well balanced in outline, good head carriage. Well filled oval front. Coat texture excellent. Has matured nicely. Well deserves to carry her crown. One niggle, please keep those nails short! 2. Thorn-Andrews’, Drakesleat I Rest my Case Rabymere. D/br of pleasing type. Appealed in outline with reachy neck and length body. Preferred the front of winner and she appeared to be a bit unsettled. 3. Thomson’s, Larklinns Destiny.
