It was an honour to be invited to judge at The Dachshund Club 125th Anniversary Championship Show. It was an enjoyable day and thanks go to all the committee and exhibitors for their hospitality and kindness. MPD 1 Baldwin’s Komobo Copyright. 9mo well made youngster having a smart outline and pleasing balanced profile. Typy well shaped head with alert expression. Firm true front with tight elbows. Body of good length and topline. Well angulated hindquarters of good width and Well rounded. Moved out well and free. 2 Hipkin’s Metrella Wots On. More mature 9mo. Promising male more on the leg than 1st. Pleasing head and expression. Well made forequarter but needs to tighten and firm up. O/a body of good length with firm level topline. Moved out with enthusiasm but not as settled as 1st. 3 Brekin & Herbert’s Stargang Max Factor. PD 1 Brekin & Herbert’s Stargang Paco Rabane. 8mo well shaped male, having good coat and furnishings. Pleasing head shape and expression. Good length of neck. Well made forequarters and shoulders but would prefer tighter elbows. Good level topline, body having the right qualities with well angulated hindquarters of good width behind. Moved out well but needs to settle to give of his best. 2 Walker’s Roselle Lord Of The Dance. Typy 10mo not the o/a length in body of 1st but nonetheless is well made in front and behind. A little reticent but looked good when settled. Pleasing well shaped head with an attractive expression. Good furnishings. V. promising and will improve with maturity and tightening up. 3 Schutze’s Frank’s Giving Day To Doubledax. JD 1 Howell’s Fallowmill Nutz About Toffy. 12mo well grown Brindle youngster having a commendable balanced profile. Praiseworthy head and expression, dark eye. Firm long neck carried well. Long low body with good angles front and rear. Hindquarters of good width with parallel well spaced hind legs. Impressed on the move with extension in front and parallel driving movement behind. 2 Rees’ Norbach Hellow Mr Wispa. Mature 14mo good coated Red having lovely make and shape. Long and low to the ground. Firm tight feet. Well constructed in front, body and hindquarters. Would like elbows to be tighter and to be more settled in movement, although moved out well and free. 3 Kugow’s & Holt’s Waldmeister Jackson. PGD 1 Hassall’s Charnealis Costa Lota Money. Nearly 2yo well constructed typy male having an eye-catching balanced profile. Pleasing head and eye with good head furnishings but would prefer a harsher coat. Body of good depth, length and width. Good prominent sternum. Well let down hindquarters. Moved out freely. 2 McDowell’s Waldmeister’s Morgan At Aristodax. 12mo promising youngster, not the maturity of 1st and a bit up on his legs. Needs to mature to complete the picture. Good coat and condition. Attractive well shaped head. Pleasing o/a with well made hindquarters. Moved out well with good width behind but was unsettled in front. LD 1 McDowell’s Waldmeister’s Brook At Aristodax. Mature quality male of good type. Super profile, proportions and balance. Impressive typy head and expression. Broad well angulated shoulders. Good front and forequarters. Well bodied of good length and depth and spring. Sound angulated hindquarters and good width. Good furnishings and coat. Moved with extension, drive and purpose. Needs to be stood over more ground to present the ideal picture. 2 Wright’s Rotella De La Hoya. 2yo looking the part in profile and condition. Of good make and size. Typy head and expression of good shape and proportions. Sound body long and low with balanced angulation front and rear. Lost out in this class by being apprehensive and so did not give of his best, especially when moving. 3 Punter’s Welcumen Top Hat. OD Thorn-Andrew’s, Iwama & Dollar’s Ch/JAP. Ch Drakesleat JP Jest Dis Once. Quality plus. Has all the breed attributes. Super head, expression and carriage. Impressed in profile and balance. Soundly constructed in front, body and hindquarters. Firm level topline and pleasing underline. Moved and stood so well in this class and in the Challenge for Dog CC but would not settle and show of his best when challenging for BOB with a different handler. A commendable Dog CC winner. 2 Wilberg’s Kanix Keith. Another quality male. Although not a year old yet is so mature and well made. More substantial than 1st but he has a super profile with ideal proportions and balance. Admirable typy well shaped head with pleasing furnishings. Clean lengthy neck set on to well angulated sound shoulders. True front firm tight feet. Body of length, depth, spring and just enough substance. Well rounded and angulated hindquarters. Moved out free and true with good width behind. My Reserve CC today. 3 Barney’s Verrami Brown Doff. VD/B 1 Schutze’s Larklinn’s Ruby Tuesday At Doubledax.Very typy 8.5yo mature bitch. Well made and well covered. Pleasing shaped head and eye. Good o/a shape and profile when settled. Had her mind on other things today both standing and when moving out. MPB 1 Allen & Moon’s Drakesleat Bahn Anna. Nearly 8mo quality Dark youngster with plenty of promise which is so essential in a puppy. Super type, make and shape. Attractive head of good shape. Alert expression, good pigmentation. Well made true front with good forechest. Body of length, well ribbed back. Firm level topline. Strong hindquarters of pleasing width. Moved especially well for one so young. 2 Holgate’s Drakesleat Bahn The Bomb. Sister to 1st and similar comments apply but this one needs to tighten and strengthen in front and behind which hopefully will come with age and maturity. Pleasing balanced profile with good angles front and rear. Moved out with free gait but was unsettled. PB 1 Wilberg’s Stargang Coco At Kanix. 9mo quality youngster. Super profile. She is balanced and has good angulation front and rear. Good prominent sternum and well made forequarters. True sound legs. She has good length with ribbing well back, spring and depth. In good coat, condition with typical coat texture. Appealing typy well shaped head and eye. Good furnishings. She moved out with purpose and true action in front, drive and width behind. 2 Kugow & Hott’s Waldmeister Mischka. 11mo attractive young bitch having an eye-catching profile and o/a proportions. Lovely head shape and expression. Full of personality. Sound true front. Good length body with firm level topline and good spring and depth. Hindquarters firm, well angled and of good width. Moved out with enthusiasm and tended to be fond of her tail which for me spoilt her side profile picture. Nonetheless plenty of quality and promise. 3 Whitehouse & Evill Rioban Lady Guinever. JB 1 Angear’s Ridgegrove Sugar Doll. Eye-catching G/Brindle 15mo. Typy feminine well shaped head and expression. Sound true front with good tight elbows. Pleasing length and set of neck. Good length and depth of body. Firm loin and well angulated strong hindquarters of width. The make and shape I like. Impressed on the move and was the best mover of this class. 2 Presnail’s Taree Hawkes Bay. 14mo. Another v. typy quality youngster. Pleasing profile. Good coat and texture. True well made front. Desirable o/a body length, spring and depth. Hindquarters of width and angulation. Free moving but would like more extension in front. 3 Howell’s Fallowmill Clarissa. PGB 1 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Hannah’s Love. Mature typy bitch having a pleasing profile. V. typy attractive head and expression with a keen eye. Neck of good length. Well made body which is firm in topline and has good spring. Could be a tad longer to complete a lovely picture. Soundly constructed front but needs to settle into herself behind. Moved out well and true and was the best mover of this class. 2 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Liberty. Appealing 2.yo mature exhibit having a desirable profile. Not as low as 1st. Good head shape, eye and expression. Front and hindquarters of good construction. Body of length and good depth, firm topline. Not the precise movement of 1st but did move out well and free. 3 Kemp’s Metcroft Some Like It Hot At Vossmed. LB 1 Wilberg’s Manix Kalinka. 11mo full of breed qualities. Today she was showing of her best. Stood and moved impressively. She has a super profile with balance. Has length and is low enough to move with freedom and accuracy. Gorgeous head of good shape and proportions. Alert in eye. Neck of length ideal shape and set. Sturdy body of desirable length and depth and spring of rib. Disciplined in standing and moving giving of her best the whole time. Well deserved Bitch CC and won BOB by continuing her great showmanship. 2 Dunstall’s Metcroft Haley Berry. Mature 4yo. Similar make and shape to 1st. Pleasing head qualities and expression. True well boned front, tight in elbow. Well angulated front and rear. Well bodied good length and proportions. Moved free and well especially in side gait.Unfortunate to come up against 1st.today. 3 Wright’s Rotella Sometimes An Angel. OB 1 Hutching’s Ch Molloney Zena Ghost JW. Impressive quality well constructed mature bitch. A lovely example of the breed and today made up a quorum of exhibits winning the top honours to be proud of. Smart eye-catching profile. Strong typy head and expression. Desirable front and forechest. Well bodied of good length. Pleasing topline and underline. Strong hindquarters of good parallel width. Moved out true in front and drive behind but not the purpose of the CC winner – Reserve Bitch CC. 2 Wright’s Rotella Sometimes An Angel. 2yo Good quality exhibit with a profile and balance I liked. Not as low as 1st but has length and balanced front and rear angulation. Good construction in forequarters and hindquarters. Pleasing head shape and expression. Lengthy neck and body with good ribbing and spring. Moved freely but needs to settle to impress. 3 Thorn-Andrew’s Drakesleat Tea Leaf.
