MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED:
My first time awarding CCs in this variety and I thank all the exhibitors for such a quality entry. I was impressed with the quality and temperament, but felt that too high a percentage had incorrect action and this affected the placings of otherwise quality exhibits.
MPD (5,1) 1 Robertson’s Soletrader Denis the Menace. Stylish pup who caught my eye immediately. Beautiful head and eye, reachy neck with good shoulders and front. Best of toplines. A happy shower with sound movement. Impressive outline which would have been enhanced by a slightly longer tail. 2 Moates’ Kanix Leonard to Dianamo. Very sound balanced little bridle with a pleasing head and eye. Good overall construction with a well developed front. Excellent spring of rib carried well back. Strong firm quarters, moved correctly but could have shown more verve. 3 Oram’s Rosswell Luciano.
PD (4) 1 Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat Cheez Duff - Best Puppy. Very shapely boy of lovely type with excellent head and expression. I liked his balance and good length. Impressive outline with a reachy neck, firm topline and well extended keel. Moved well with plenty of drive, should have a bright future. 2 Baldwin’s Kombombo Copyright to Beckel. Quality sound and compact little brindle. So well constructed with a lovely firm body and excellent strong quarters. A close decision but I preferred the length and front action of the winner. 3 Oram’s Rosswell Luciano.
JD (6,2) 1 Smith’s Dunns Pitts Zakajak. Top quality brindle with a good head piece and a harsh jacket. Of excellent construction with good depth and robust ribcage. Strong topline and good keel giving a gentle underline. Good action and covering plenty of ground and holding his topline. Best mover in the class. 2 Howell’s Fallowmill Nutz About Toffy. Darker brindle but another good exhibit of sound construction with a well angulated front and rear. Pleasing overall shape with a strong topline and well sprung ribcage. Moved freely but I preferred the action and outline of the winner. 3 Powell’s Bothlyn Making Time at Forbell.
PGD (5,1) 1 Kugow and Holts’ Waldmeister Jackson. Super headed brindle who had all the essentials. So well put together with strong, well angulated quarters. Good width all through. Firm body with a level topline. Moved very soundly with a lovely profile. 2 Glue’s Brindeckel Furrari. Another attractive brindle with a good head and dark eye. Correctly constructed front with prominent forechest. Reachy neck with good shoulder and strong topline. Did not have the positive movement of the winner 3 Punter’s Welcumen Top Hat.
LD (6,1) 1 Wilberg’s Kanix Keith. Res CC. Grand dog shown in beautiful condition. So lovely to handle and very sound and well angulated. Looked a picture when stacked with a nicely arched neck and impressive topline. One of the best movers with very good ground coverage. 2 Price’s Samlane Manilow. Very sound exhibit. Good overall construction with a strong front and good forechest. Strong topline and good underline with keel well back. Shapely quarters with excellent turn of stifle. Moved steadily and soundly to deserve his placing. 3 Moore’s Danvilhar Bergamot.
OD (3,1) 1 Thorn-Andrews, Iwama and Dellar’s Ch Jap Ch JP Jest Dis Once. CC. Impressive dog and very much my type. Good breadth all through with the best of fronts and good depth, oval shape and tight elbows. Well sprung ribcage and good sweep of keel giving a lovely underline. Super hammy and well let down quarters. Moved soundly with drive, maintaining a good outline. Unfortunately in the run-off for BOB he did not give of his best. 2 Allan and Dick’s Ir Ch Auchans Roger the Dojjer. Very sound and neat dog of smaller and different type. Good front with prominent forechest and correct length of upperarm. Firm and level topline with strong, well angulated quarters. Moved soundly and with drive. Good textured coat, just preferred head and overall type of the winner.
MPB (9,1) 1 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Kasino Kween. What a little cracker with such assurance for one so young. Built on classic lines, long, low and level. Beautiful head with a sweet expression. Good front and rear angulation, moved so freely with such co-ordination. One to watch out for. Congratulations to her young handler. 2 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Love Academy. Lighter brindle of taller type than the winner but nevertheless very sound. Has all the essentials. Good head with a dark expressive eye. Good construction all through with a well angulated rear. Sound and free mover. 3 Fraser’s Cumtru Kid Gloves.
PB (9,1) An excellent class and the first three could change places. 1 Miles’ Gunnrange Ophelia with Jaybiem. Strong and well constructed girl of great substance and balance. Good head with nicely arched neck and correct shoulder. Firm topline and excellent ribbing with short loin and well rounded, strong quarters. Moved soundly both ways. 2 Blackburn’s Stargang Le Classique. Another eyecatching and quality exhibit with the best of heads. Well constructed front with correct oval shape and good depth with keel carried well back. Impressive outline and a good mover, but just preferred the overall action of the winner. 3 Blackburn-Bennett’s Kasino Kween.
JB (12,1) Another good class and I was splitting hairs. 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Coffee Renoir. Yet another stunning exhibit from this kennel. Of smaller compact type but so strong and well assembled. Excellent front and forechest, with feet well placed underneath body. Well rounded and strong quarters with short hocks. Powered effortlessly round the ring with correct driving action. 2 THorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat On Croot. Another eyecatching exhibit of excellent type. Very shapely with good length and a superb outline. Beautiful head, neck and shoulders. Full of substance with good width, firm body and well ribbed with strong well angulated quarters. Moved well but not the fluency of the winner. 3 Kugow and Holt’s Waldmeister Mischka.
PGB (11,2) I found this class difficult to assess as so many did not move correctly. 1 Brechin and Herbert’s Stargang Ilex. Attractive dark brindle with a pleasing head and expression, I liked her shape and outline. Good firm front with prominent forechest. Strong coupled body with good ribbing and a lovely turn of stifle. Best mover in the class. 2 Young’s Tarkus Mystical Moon. Sound little girl who does not immediately stand out. Good front construction and breadth with firm compact body and a level topline. Moved well but not the hind angulation of the winner. 3 Hayward’s Foxearth Fine Blend.
LB (11,4) 1 Price’s Samlane Norma Jean. Lovely sound girl of good length and balance. I loved her head and expression. Good front and rear construction with correct angulation. Very correct parallel movement which won her the class. Could carry a little more weight to advantage. 2 Wilberg’s Kanix Kalinka. Beautiful girl of excellent type and in lovely condition. Close up to the winner. Good front construction with plenty of depth and well sprung ribcage. Impressive outline and good harsh coat. Free and stylish mover with good ground coverage, I preferred the hind action of the winner. 3 Poxon’s Kapodach Sakura Blush.
OB (4) 1 Blackburn’s Ch Stargang Xquisite. CC and BOB. Delightful exhibit in tip top condition, who sparkled the entire time. Completely balanced and of sound construction. Always standing four square with a grand front and lovely oval shape. Deep solid keel carried well back. Good top and underline. Has strong quarters and powered around the ring with great driving action. On the day she owned the ring and I was delighted to see her win Group 3. 2 Hutchings’ Ch Molloney Zena Ghost. JW. Res CC. Loved this top class girl of excellent type. Looked a picture standing and has the best of fronts with adequate forechest and tight elbows. Good neck and topline with well muscled and angulated rear. Unfortunate to meet the winner in such cracking form and on the day did not match up to the drive and extension of the winner. 3 Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat Tea Leaf.
