MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED
Many thanks to the committee for the invitation.
Correct harsh double coats are in the minority but some judicious trimming would
improve some exhibits along with cutting nails, cleaning teeth and some exercise
to build up muscle. PGB and LB were the 2 most difficult classes.
MPD. (1). 1. MacDonough’s, Varrich Ben Lui. Nicely shaped brindle whose
back coat was harsh but had soft leg hair. Good head and eye. Needs a touch more
forechest. Good hindquarters, ribbing ok. Held a level topline. Rather worried
exhibit.
PD. (3). 1. Russell’s, Russteck Fillibeg. Longer cast b/t with super
coat. Lovely tight leg hair and tight feet. Prominent forechest, well laid
shoulders. Could perhaps do with ribs a shade longer. Good hindquarters. Level
topline. Tail a touch high. moved out well. BPD. 2. Hunt’s, Tysar Secret Agent
at Earthsea. Brindle. Head ok. Has enough forechest and shoulders are ok. Short
in ribbing which made him cut up underneath and he is a little straight in the
hindquarters. Moved a touch erratically.
JD. (2). 1. Thorn-Andrews’, Drakesleat Cheeze Doff. CC and BOB. Brindle.
Most lovely shape, beautiful head with correct eye. Prominent forechest, well
laid shoulders with corresponding upperarm. Good ribbing. Correct hindquarters.
Good underline, excellent bone. Moved soundly coming and going. 2. Robertson’s,
Soletrader Dennis the Menis. Dark brindle. He is the most lovely dog. He is
correct in all departments. Fabulous head and eye. Prominent forechest with
probably the best shoulder of the day. Good top and underline. Well angulated
quarters. Super coat. Sadly lacks confidence and this affected his movement.
PGD. (2). 1. Hadden’s, Wellbury Nijinsky. Excellently coated brindle. Lovely
head, enough forechest, touch short in the keel and ribbing so a shade cut up
underneath. Good hindquarters and correct tailset. Level topline. Moved well. 2.
Boythlyn Timemaster at Shardlaw. Softer coated brindle. Head ok, adequate
forechest, enough ribbing. Hindquarters ok. Rather nervous and didn’t move as
well as a consequence.
LD. (4). 1. Kugow and Holt’s, Waldermeister Jackson. Honest dog. Brindle,
good coated. Masculine head, well laid shoulders. Good bone and feet. Good ribs.
Well angulated hindquarters. Level standing and moving. Best mover in the class.
Needs a touch more forechest. 2. Morton’s, Molloney Terra Fried. Good coated
dark brindle. Has a lovely shape with good forechest and shoulders. Level,
enough ribbing. Moved a touch close in front. For my personal preference would
prefer him with an ounce or two more on his frame.
OD. (4). 1. Wilberg’s, Ch. Kanix Keith. Brindle with best temperament of
the day. Lovely outgoing chap. Masculine head and good eye. Well laid shoulders.
Good bone and feet, deep bodied with excellent ribs. Well angulated
hindquarters. Moved out soundly with confidence. A close decision for the CC.
Just preferred the winners forechest. RCC. 2. Allan and Dick’s, Ir Ch. Auchans
Roger the Dojjer. Superb coated red brindle. Didn't;t care for his head. Good
forechest. Excellent leg hair. Touch short in upper arm and ribbing. Good
hindquarters. Level.
MPB. (5). 1. Price’s, Samlane Rosealeen. Delightful temperament on this
baby. Feminine head. Good topline, enough forechest. Good hindquarters. Well
ribbed and good underline. In the brief moment when she moved with her handler
she moved very nicely. 2. Kugow and Holt’s, Waldermeister Guillemot. Superb
coated dark brindle. Good bone and feet. Needs touch more forechest and would
prefer shade more angulation behind. Good ribs and level. A bit overawed by the
occasion.
PB. (5). 1. Blackburn-Bennett’s, Stargang Kasino Kween. Super coated red
brindle. Head ok. Excellent forequarters. Good bone. Well ribbed. Well angulated
hindquarters. Level and moved out soundly. BP. 2. Hatzi and Sexton’s, Molloney
Nelly Fant. Dark brindle that would benefit from a harsher coat. She is the
loveliest shape with super head and eye. Lovely forequarters and hindquarters.
Level. When she gets in sync with her handler she will be a winner. My notes say
that she is ‘just a bit mad’ which at her age she is entitled to be!
JB. (6). Two lovely bitches. 1. Smith and Moon’s, Drakesleat Bahn Anna.
B/t with the most gorgeous head. Lovely shoulders and forechest. Good ribs. Well
angulated quarters with an excellent tailset. Level with good underline. Moved
soundly, well schooled. RCC. 2. Hutchings and Waite’s, Molloney Sue Flay at
Pedach. Brindle. Another with a beautiful head. Lovely bone. Excellent
forechest. Well ribbed. Good hindquarters. Level topline. Moving a touch
erratically with her tail up which cost her the class.
PGB. (4). 1. Miller’s, Scotmariner Sea Beebie. Brindle. Head ok. Prefer
touch more forechest. Front angles ok and would benefit from shade more
angulation behind. Ribbing ok. Good underline. 2. Shand’s, Bothlyn Sweet Time.
Brindle, lighter all through. Head could be better. Better hindquarters and than
winner. Level, touch short in ribbing.
LB. (7). 1. Price’s, Samlane Norma Jean. Brindle. Beat angles fore and
aft in the class. Prefer a touch more forechest. Level, ribs ok. Would prefer
more bone. Benefit from a stronger temperament. Kept best shape when moving. 2.
Holgate’s, Drakesleat Bahn the Bomb. Lovely shape stacked. Lovely head. Good
bone. Good forechest and ribs ok. Moved out well out lost topline when moving.
OB. (5). 1. Hutching’s, Ch. Molloney Zena Ghost. Good coated brindle that
won this class and the CC with something to spare. Most beautiful feminine head
with correct eye, good mouth. Prominent forechest with well laid shoulders. Good
bone and feet. Well ribbed, correct hindquarters angulation. Level topline and
good underline. Moved with purpose. Expertly handled and a lesson in
presentation. Splitting hairs for BOB with an equally lovely dog, but just
preferred the dog coming towards me. 2. Thorn-Andrews’, Drakesleat En Croot.
Brindle of similar type. Slightly softer in coat. Lovely head. Good forechest.
Well angulated hindquarters. Level and good tail set. Not as positive in
movement as winner.
