MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED
I haven't judged Mini Wires for sometime and was surprised at how much better the quality was in the bitches compared to the dogs. On the whole type was very mixed. Some exhibits had weak heads that lacked foreface and the strong jaw combined with correct ear set that you would look for in a Dachshund. Exhibits generally were presented in good overall condition. PD. (3). 1. Huckerby's, Norwilbeck Dark n Dashing. Excellent head with strong foreface and good eye shape. Holding topline both standing and on the move. Moving with drive. Nice tight feet which many lacked. Good coat. BPD. 2. Thorn Andrews', Drakesleat Win a Lot. Close decision and similar remarks apply. Just felt that the winner was tighter in elbow and had better coat. 3. Barney's, Verami Sean Canary. JD. (7). 1. Wilberg's, Kanix Oscar. Good coat on this dog with nice head and neck flowing into correct shoulders with good depth of body. Topline held better than most in this class. Moved out with purpose. 2. Price's, Samlane Tetley. Nice dark brindle. Reasonable topline on the move but not co-operating with handler in the stack which spoilt outline. Steady mover. 3. Young and Otter's, Nordach Mr Muffin of Tartus. PGD. (4). 1.Barney's, Molloney and Again Verrami. Stood away in this class. Excellent head with good strong lower jaw. Good neck and shoulder placement. Topline was well held and he moved true fore and aft. Better ribbing than many on the day and well handled. Still very much a raw baby and can only improve with time. 2. Robertson's, Winston Bryn. Won over third on better movement. 3. Young's, Barney Rubble of Tarkus. LD. (3). 1. Kugow and Holts', Waldermeister Henry. Nice overall balance with clean outline. Good head and neck with secure topline held at all times. Moved with purpose and drive. 2. Thorn Andrews', Skootamota Sukka of Drakesleat. Lovely headed dog with good shoulders and ribbing. Good angulation at both ends. Not as positive on the move as winner. OD. (6). 1. Horswell and Iwamas's, Ch. Drakesleat JP Trier Winshoten. Excellent type with no exaggeration. Beautiful head and expression with good ear set. Nice length of neck flowing into better shoulders than most. Moved out with drive and purpose holding topline well. CC. 2. Blackburns', Ch. Stargang Malachite. Nice overall balance. Again strong head with good eye shape and good topline. Not as positive behind as winner. RCC. 3. Kugow and Holts', Waldermeister Jackson. V. (2). 1. Schulze Loretto Price of Soades to Doubledax. Very harsh coated brindle boy enjoying his day. MPB. (3). 1. Haywards', Foxearth Fee' Ling. Beautiful balanced dark brindle bitch who I really fell for. Very babyish but good shoulder placement with correct pro sternum developing. Held topline and kept same shape standing and moving. Moved out well for such a baby. Very sympathetically handled to get the best from her. 2. Blackburns', Stargang Jolo. Another nice puppy that wasn't holding it together as well as winner. Lovely type and can only improve with maturity. PB. (5). 1. Billinghurst's, Drakesleat Russia About to Jiljac. Slightly longer in body than many but held outline at all times. Nice head and expression and good shoulder placement. Moved out very steadily to win the class. More mature and finished than second. 2. Horswell's, Drakesleat Knot On Yer Nelly. Nice balanced puppy with lovely head and neck with good topline. On the day was rather unsettled so not showing her many good points as well as she could especially on the move. 3. Marston Teals Lordscairnie Dream of Love. JB. (9). 1. Billinghurst's, Drakesleat Russia About to Jiljac. 2. Presnail's, Taree Lemonis. Good coated bitch. Good front assembly with good pro sternum and lay back of shoulder. Compact in body and moved out well. 3. Lordscairnie Enduring Love. PGB . (2). 1. Kugow and Holt's, Waldmeister Guillemot. Good coat as had all from this kennel. Well balanced. Good reach of neck with good bone and good angulation at both ends. Moved out with purpose. 2. Probert's, Oggyland Zundees Cheal. Appeared to be nice type of bitch but wouldn't be handled on the table. LB. (10). 1. Kugow and Holts', Waldermeister Mischka. Won class on balance and movement. Again nice type from this kennel with excellent coat and presentation. Good topline and positive straight hind action. RCC. 2. Blackburn's, Stargang Beau Belle. Lovely stamp of bitch that was beautifully presented. Just felt she lacked purpose in hind movement compared with winner. 3. Marston Teal Lordscairnie Love Academy. OB. (7). 1. Blackburn Bennett's, Ch. Kasino Kween. Beautifully presented bitch with lovely type and balance. Good front assembly with layback of shoulder combined with pro sternum to give the true Dachshund front combined with good length of ribbing with excellent underline. Moved out well holding shape at all times. CC and BOB. 2. Wilbergs', Kanix Mary. Different type to winner but nice overall quality. Moved with drive and purpose holding her outline at all times. Lovely feminine head and expression. 3. Thorn Andrews', Drakesleat Miss Suebishy.
