MINIATURE WIREHAIRED
I have to say I was very disappointed with the quality of the males exhibited today. I counted the good ones on one hand, this does not auger well for the breeds future. On the whole heads, eye shape and ear carriage were good, but that is where it stopped, upright fronts, lack of neck, sternum and keel went with short ribbing and short humpy backs, to name just a few problems. The males in any breed are very important, they must have breed type, soundness and good construction to pass on to their progeny, along with temperament and quality. There is no doubt that this breed's strength is in its bitches, there were some lovely ones exhibited today. These are such charming and endearing little dogs. I would ask that you strive to breed a lot more really good quality males. MPD (2) 1 Blackburn's Stargang Tigers Eye. This lovely brindle baby was one of the good ones, exceptional movement fore and aft, balanced outline both stacked and on the move, excellent front assembly, pro-sternum and ribbing, level topline, good length, well turned stifles, sound all through. BPIB. 2 Marston-Teal's Lordscairnie Love To Dance. This was also quite a nice baby, however, he was a little anxious and I felt his handler could have been a little more sympathetic. Nice head and expression, good length with firm topline, well bent stifles, good overall balance, not moving as well as one. PD (3) 1 Presnail's Taree Nelson. Promising brindle, masculine head, good eye shape, reachy neck, good keel and ribbing, level topline, good length and bend of stifle, lovely harsh jacket, nice baby. 2 Phillips' Molloney Andy Man. I felt that this chap was too thin and needs a little more confidence. Good head and eye, nice ear leathers, good length of neck and back, a little short of upper arm, sound quarters. JD (4) 1 Young & Otter's Tarkus Windy Miller Portalutra. Quite a smart young man, well presented and shown, firm level topline, good sternum and ribbing, adequate hind angulation, would like better layback of shoulder and front to complete the picture. 2 Way's Sudasam Mayisujest. Close up to one but not his confidence, masculine head, good length of back, reasonable forehand and good quarters, well ribbed, unfortunately humping his topline today. 3 Miller's Bothlyn Black Raven At Sharplaw. PGD (5) 1 Shaw's Cilnant Happy Harry. Taller male but soundest in class. Neat front, tight elbows, fitting nicely against ribbing which meant his front movement was totally true, good length but lacking depth, level topline, sound quarters, moving true, harsh jacket. 2 Young & Otter's Nordach Mr Muffin Of Tarkus. Lower to ground but not tight front of one, good pro-sternum, level topline, sufficient hind angulation, moved happily with confidence. 3 Price's Samlane Tetley. LD (4) 1 Black's Bassodon Bilbie. Nice young man, masculine head, long neck, good front assembly with tight elbows, well ribbed, good length, level topline, well bent stifles, moved true fore and aft, good coat. 2 Hooper's Starhill Kings Rhapsody. Masculine dog, quite a big chap but nice type, good ribbing carried back, level topline, good turn of stifle, front could be tighter, lovely harsh jacket. OD (4) Two very nice males that surely could be very useful. 1 Kugow & Holt's Waldmeister Henry JW. This dog is certainly "fit for purpose". I loved his active movement, he really extended and could easily do a days work, super head and eye, excellent front assembly, firm level topline, ribbing carried well back, sound quarters, moved totally true fore and aft, balanced outline both stacked and on the move, his free, active movement and happy temperament won him the Dog CC. 2 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Winalot. This is also a lovely dog, however, today he did not move with the verve and purpose of the winner, lovely head and expression, long neck, good keel and ribbing, tight elbows, level topline, well bent stifles, moved true, balanced outline. A quality dog that was a pleasure to go over. Res CC. MPB (8) 1 Marston-Teal's Lordcairnie Xclusive Love. Attractive baby, more confident than her brother in minor puppy dog, nice outline with good length, sound front, tight elbows, well turned stifles, moved well, promising pup with good overall balance and sound movement. 2 Blackburn's Stargang Fire Opal. Quality baby with super harsh jacket, super front assembly, level topline, well ribbed, rounded quarters, really neat sound pup, just needs to firm up in hind movement. 3 Otter's Portalutra Sasha Imi. PB (7) 1 Dunn's Barratini Bumble At Ashridge. Very nice young lady, sweet head and expression, good eye shape, reachy neck, good shoulders, tight front, ribbing carried well back, nice bend of stifle, balanced outline with level topline, just needs to gain that extra confidence to trouble the best. Best PB. 2 Presnail's Taree Nevis. Another promising puppy, fairly similar to one in many ways, good depth of keel and length of back, neat front and feet, well turned stifles, in good coat, moved well. 3 Settle & Ashwell-Carter's Verrami Kitsch N Devil. JB (7) 1 Kugow & Holt's Waldmeister Steffi JW. I see is sired by my Dog CC winner and very nice she is too, like her sire she is also an active mover and holds her outline both stacked and on the move, lovely head and eye, long elegant neck, sound front, good ribbing, strong quarters, moved true fore and aft, excellent coat. 2 Marston-Teal's Lordscairnie Love Of My Life. Pretty little bitch, neat forehand, level topline, good length, low to ground, well turned stifle, preferred hind movement of one, nice outline. 3 Blackburn's Stargang Jolo. PGB (7) 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Diamond Star. Like this one, she has a lot of quality, lovely head and expression, long neck, well laid shoulders, tight front, good keel and ribbing, slight tendency to drop her topline when stacked, but levels out on the move, free and active, true fore and aft. 2 Dance's Emem All Het Up. Attractive girl, low to ground with nice length, good ribbing carried back, sound forehand and quarters, happy temperament. 3 Price's Samlane Touch Of Gin. LB (9) 1 Horswell's Drakesleat Knot On Yer Nelly. Extremely nice girl, super head and expression, excellent front assembly, tight elbows, well ribbed, good bend of stifle, sound true movement, lovely balanced outline, not quite the showmanship of the CC winner but fairly close up for quality and construction. Res CC. 2 Black's Bassodon Dita Von Teese. Another lovely girl, well balanced all through, super forehand, all fitting well together, good length of back, sound quarters, level topline held well on the move. 3 Kugow & Holt's Waldmeister Guillemot JW. OB (6) Good class, the first 4 were lovely girls. 1 Dance's Emem Sunny Smidpells. I thought this girl was a really sound and honest bitch with no exaggeration anywhere, she moved with real purpose and drive and has a lovely happy temperament, she and her handler had a real rapport, couldn't find anything I didn't like, very elegant with good length and depth, super forehand, strong quarters that enabled her to power round the ring in excellent coat and condition. CC and BOB. 2 Fulton's Ch Bothlyn Penny Black. Very attractive b/t, lovely head shape, neat front, good keel and depth, low to ground, ribs carried back, well bent stifles, really pretty girl, moved true fore and aft. 3 Blackburn's Stargang Beau Belle.
