WIRE HAIRED
Thank you for the invitation to judge at this prestigious event. The breed is now fairly uniform in type, with some lovely specimens, especially in bitches. Vet (5) 1 Ch Silvae Pickwick. A dog I have admired and given a ticket to in the past. Beautifully balanced and at one with his handler in this class, still able to trouble the best. In the challenge didn't behave, which cost him the top awards. 2 Bonavoir Betty Rickard. Red bitch of good quality. Good head and eye, good front construction with good keel and excellent ribbing. Powerful quarters which she really used on the move. 3 Allfreys Genevieve. MPD (3) 1 Norriska Yellow Diamond. Lovely head and neck, good pro sternum, pasterns a bit flat and feet turning a little too much in front, but a baby yet. Roadwork would help. Good ribbing and quarters, moved well. 2 Chiselvine Surf Rider. Lovely head, eye and neck, well laid shoulders, forechest needs to develop more. Well balanced quarters but tending to be a bit 'bummy' at the moment. At 6 months has time on his side. 3 Salixian Eclat. PD (4) 1 Romanchi Mohican. Dark brindle with a lovely head and eye. Long neck, shoulders need to tighten. Lovely ribbing and well angulated rear. On the move has correct extension, but needs to tighten all round. 2 Aventine Tropic Thunder. Totally different type from the winner here. Nice head, neck and shoulder, excellent bone and ribbing. Would prefer more angulations in the quarters. Moved absolutely soundly. 3 Norriska Yellow Diamond. JD (4) 1 Ex Sentia I'm Bond James Bond (Imp Pol). Res CC. Very well balanced young dog of good quality. Excellent head and eye, long neck, decent shoulder, good pro-sternum and excellent ribbing. Well angulated quarters. Moved with good extension. A good showman. Best Puppy. 2 Derochaise Mutineer. Lovely head and eye. Good neck, shoulder a little steep. Excellent length of ribbing, good bone and balanced quarters. Sound on the move. 3 Reveldown Bright Prospect. PGD (4) 1 Ermewood Joint Effort. Biggish male who would look better a little slimmer, I thought! Nice head and eye, a bit loaded in shoulder with a short upperarm, good forechest and bone. Good ribbing, excellent quarters and he moved well. 2 Swincombes Darite. Good head and neck, could have a bit more pro-sternum. Shoulder fair. Good ribbing carried well back. Good quarters and sound on the move. 3 Monisi on the Town. LD (10) 1 Silvae Paradigm. Lovely head and eye, long neck running into well laid shoulders with good angulation. Good pro sternum, excellent length of ribbing and well angulated and balanced quarters. Loved him stacked but on the move didn't quite keep his outline. Beautifully sound fore and aft. 2 Chiselvine Sea Swell. Similar in construction to the winner but just lacking a little in forechest. Lovely head and eye. Good neck and shoulders, good ribbing. Well balanced quarters, moved well. 3 Abbydac Parsley with Andlouis. OD (5) 1 Liebling's Stormin Norman. Very well balanced red dog of good proportions. Good head and eye, ears well placed. Good neck and lay of shoulder, correct angulation, long ribbing and balanced quarters. Moved soundly keeping a good outline. CC. 2 Ch Aventine Rainman at Romanchi. JW. Dog I gave a class to last time I judged. Well balanced in all respects and similar in construction to the winner, but not in his best jacket on the day. 3 Ch Silvae Pioneer. MPB (4,1) 1 Boloria Anisia Bella. Chocolate puppy with lots of promise. Lovely head and eye, long neck flowing into well placed and angulated shoulders. Fair ribbing, lovely hindquarters. Moved soundly. 2 Salaxian Elise. Good head and shoulder, good ribbing and hindquarers. Did not extend properly on the move on the day. 3 Chiselvine Call of the Sea. PB (3) 1 Atahira Centissima. Very nice quality brindle. Good head and neck, good shoulders, ample forechest, excellent length and depth of ribbing. Lovely quarters which she really used on the move. 2 Kindeace See Emily Play. Good head and neck, good shoulder and excellent quarters. Back heavily stripped out in places which detracted from her outline. Sound. 3 Lowjinks Linga Longa. JB (5) 1 Derochaise Black Orchid. I thought this young bitch quite stunning in outline. Beautiful, dark black brindle in colour with a gorgeous head and a dark eye. Long neck, good shoulder placement and a prominent forechest and excellent ribbing. Balanced quarters Moved with correct reach and drive, keeping a beautiful outline. Res CC. 2 Sonic Fancy Free at Kindeace. More mature bitch of a different type to my winner. Well balanced in all departments, but not quite as good in hind angulation. 3 Ritlo Return to Sender with Ablebody. NB (1) 1 Ablebody Pulcinella. Fair head, good neck and shoulder and a good forechest. Ribbing could be longer. Fair quarters, sound on the move. PGB (6) 1 Barmaud Pandors. Very nice type. Good head and shoulder, excellent pro-sternum and ribbing carried well back. Good quarters with short hocks. She tended to stand with a slack topline, however on the move she pulled herself together and kept her outline, moving with correct extension fore and aft. 2 Ritterburg Against All Odds. Very long head, good eye and long neck running into good shoulders. Good forechest and length and depth to ribbing. Good quarters. A little unsettled on the move, tended to crab a little which spoilt her outline. 3 Chiselvine Born to Dance at Abbydac. LB (8,3) 1 Silvae Zest. Brindle of the usual lovely type bred by this kennel. Excellent head and eye, lovely neck running into shoulders of correct construction. Good forechest, ribbing carried well back and a good length of first and second thigh in quarters. Hocks well let down. Moved out covering the ground well. My CC and BOB and I was thrilled to see her get BIS. Well done. 2 Molloney Ann Other at Romanchi. Another good bitch of excellent quality. Good head and shoulders, excellent ribbing and quarters. Very sound on the move, a very close decision. 3 Ablebody La Traviata. OB (9,3) 1 Ch Silvae Mystic. Beautiful salt and pepper bitch. Gorgeous head with a small dark eye. Long neck, good shoulders and ample pro-sternum. Excellent length and depth, beautifully balanced rear. Moved well, one I have admired and could easily have given top awards. 2 Ch Bystock Pumpkin Pie. I was spoiled for choice, this is also a bitch I have admired in the past. Very well constructed in all departments. Just thought she looked a little heavy, moved well keeping her excellent topline at all times. 3 Ir Ch Barmaud Jessicva. Another good one I have placed well before.

MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED
We have moved house to Norfolk since I was honoured to judge your minis, and we are just finding our feet, but what an honour to judge. A bit of a hiccup regarding the weighing, but no major hazard, and only three dogs slightly overweight. Presentation on the whole is good, and temperaments were top class. Thank you all for the manner in which you accepted my decisions, which at times were close. My two stewards kept things rolling and smooth, and I thank them warmly. Vet (3,1) 1 Dance’s Dacatec Mindyapeasncues Emem. At 8 and a bit she is in fine fettle. Full clean dentures, nicely presented coat and she loved it. Moved well. 2 Boyne’s Ch Brindeckel Ballykay. I started him off 9 years ago and I still think he is the nicest of dogs. Moved well for his age, and a great pleasure to see him in the ring again. Sp Beginners (2,1) 1 Chugg’s Castlett Dream Maker. Stood alone, but she didn’t mind and after a bit of a wobbly start, she went round well. Houndy expression and well presented. MPD (5,1) 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Tigers Eye. A very nice little 8 month old baby, balanced and sound. Excellent presentation as are all this exhibitor’s dogs. Typy with a lovely head, correct shoulders, topline and hind end. Promising. Best Puppy. 2 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Love to Dance. He is well named, as he wanted to do the samba most of the time! Lovely forechest with a prominent prosternum, good shoulder and topline. At times difficult to assess the movement, but we got there in the end. 3 Macdonough’s Varriches Capercaillie. PD (2) 1 Presnail’s Taree Nelson. A nice balanced 11 month old dog. Good coat. He has a strong head, level on topline and good sweep on underline. Sound movement. 2 Sheridan and Williams’ Wyndsmoor Mr Chips. This dog was having a ball, and really enjoyed himself. He is very proud of his tail and it rather threw his front movement. When he gets the idea of what is expected he should be easier to judge. JD (5,1) 1 Moore’s Dannvichar Euphrasia. This little one is shorter type and has a nice shoulder set, also a fair front and hind end. Needs a bit of settling and training. 2 Young and Otter’s Tarkus Windy Miller Portalutra. Slightly out of coat. A high tail carriage tends to make him lose his topline on the move. Beautifully trained and he has a lovely head and expression. 3 Miller’s Bothlyn Black Raven at Sharplaw. ND (2) 1 Sheridan and Williams’ Wyndsmoor Son of Crinkles. This dog is very naughty when he moves and needs to learn his craft, because he has a lot to offer. Very nice outline, correct coat and a good head, movement was hard to assess. 2 Miller’s Bothlyn Black Raven at Sharplaw. I placed him 3rd in Junior. Poor angulation fore and aft, and hence his movement is affected. His saving grace is a good head and correct coat. PGD (9,2) A difficult class to judge, as there were very good dogs but various types. 1 Payton’s Marajo Harrision. A nice quality dog who was trying all the time for his handler, and her work paid off. Beautifully presented and in good coat. Top and underline correct, front quarters well assembled and hind end acceptable. 2 Price’s Samlane Tetley. Another dog who is presented so well. Correct and clean mouth, lovely head and expression. A well placed front and hindquarters, slightly on the leg compared to the winner. 3 Baxter’s Kapodach Love Me Tender at Hotwire. LD (8,2) 1 Wilberg’s Kanix Oscar. An outstanding dog with charisma in the ring. He goes round as if he owns the joint! A fine quality head, watching all the time and carried on good shoulders. Level topline all the time, correct underline and it all comes together when he moves. A great pleasure to award him the CC, hos second I believe, it should not be too long before the third comes along. 2 Hassal and McLeod’s Sidelock Formular One. New to me and a nice small dog, very balanced and in super coat. He could do with a little more forechest, correct shoulder and hind angulation. Topline correct and he moved well. 3 Moore’s Danvichar Bergamot Sh CM. OD (3,1) 1 Smith’s Dunnspitts Zakajak. A red brindle that is top class, presented in good coat and order. A neat, small dog with all angles in the right place. He moved well for his handler and it was my pleasure to award him the Res CC. 2 Kugow and Holt’s Waldmeister Henry. A dark brindle of similar description to the winner. I just preferred the hind angulation of 1. MPB (6) 1 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie clusive Love. A very pretty and well balanced youngster, with a particularly good front end. Good bone and well finished coat. Looked a picture and moved reasonably well for one so young. 2 Lancaster and Miller’s Pellismar Sno Big Deal. She is still very much a baby and needs time, but there is a lot to like about her. Lovely dark coat of the correct texture, not quite the topline or tailset of the winner. 3 Boyn’s Brindeckel Ballykissangel. An 8 month old promising puppy. Sweet head, shoulder set good, topline a bit erratic as yet, but should settle, as will movement. PB (10,2) A difficult class, as many of these puppies are worthy. 1 Presnail’s Taree Nevis. Litter sister to the PD winner and similar comments apply. A very attractive dark brindle with a lovely forechest, prosternum and correct, sound hindquarters. Good bone and coat, a worthy winner. 2 Hunt’s Marvelous Mischief at Earthsea. A different type, more on th leg here, but nevertheless a quality bitch. Good positioning of angles, excetionally good front assembly. 3 Rigby’s Waldmeister Mayd for Rigadel. JB (8,3) A great of type in this class. 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Jolo. A strong coated bitch who is as sound as a bell and her movement is a joy to see, Lovely head, elegant neck and correct front leading to topline and underline which are strong and copybook. Friendly temperament. 2 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Love of My Life. Black and pale tan bitch of much smaller type. She has all the essentials, very attractive bitch and sound in movement. 3 Howell’s Fallowmill India. NB (7) 1 Hassall and McLeod’s Sidelock Miss Deemena and 2, Macdonough’s Varrich’s Lilo Lil. Put together in critique as similar comments apply to both. Both of nice type, both small with nothing over exaggerated. Quality exhibits with good mouths and correct coats. The deciding factor on the day was that I preferred the movement of the winner. 3 Rigby’s Waldmeister Mayd for Rigadel. PGB (14,3) 1 Price’s Samlane Touch of Gin. A very balanced and sound bitch. Correct through from her pretty head, mouth, shoulder, topline and underline. Movement is excellent. I personally would have preferred slightly more angulation at the back quarters. 2 Dance’s Emem All Het Up. Balanced, sound and well fronted bitch of quality and type. Good conformation all round but the hind end was a little close when moving. 3 Moore’s Davichar Digitalis. LB (9) 1 Black’s Bassodon Dita von Teese. This bitch is beautifully presented, not a hair out of place. Lovely head, neck, shoulders and a great spring of rib with plenty of heartroom. Moved very wekk, worthy. 2 McLeod’s Sideloc Do I Look Bovvered. Love the name! Another lovely and well presented exhibit. Great coat, correct feet and a very pretty head. Correct construction. 3 Powell’s Bothlyn Singing the Blues. OB (10,4) 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Beau Belle. CC and BOB. Here I found an exceptional bitch with a lovely head. Her body is strong with an absolutely great front and yet elegant. Correct on the angles, which showed in her fluid movement. Sound and true coming and going, powerful. Perfect coat - a delight. 2 Fulton’s Ch Bothlyn Penny Black. Close up to the winner. Typy and most attractive black and tan bitch. Great angulation at the back end. These two gave me great pleasure to see. Res BCC. 3 Wilberg’s Stargang Coco at Kanix.
