BEST OF BREED: THORN ANDREWS' CH DRAKESLEAT WIN ALOT
MINIATURE WIREHAIRED
I enjoyed judging this breed, but a few things I had noticed since I
last judged. Feet are not at their best, many with flat and weak pasterns and
very long toe nails which spoilt the shape of the foot. Ribbing is becoming too
short and many were short in keel. I also noticed there were soft coats
appearing, so jackets were fluffy and not harsh. Teeth need to be cleaned, as
tartar stained teeth are offputting. I was pleased with my principle winners.
PD (9) 1 Kugow &Holt’s Waldmeister Samuel. Immature puppy, but so nice
to go over, lovely head, neck and well filled front, excellent coat and
presentation, good outline which he keeps at all times, when he matures I am
sure he will have an interesting future. Best PD. 2 Blackburn’s Stargang Daniel
De Foe. Lovely puppy, very excellent masculine head, well filled front, moved
out well but prefer the coat of first, keeps a good outline on the move.
JD(2) 1 Banks &Douglas’ Kmai Razzle Dazzle Of Torabbi. Alone in
this class, has a lot to like but I would like a more almond shaped eye,
excellent ribbing, moved out ok.
PGD (4) 1 McDowell’s Waldmeister Charlie Brown At Aristodax.
Brindle, the best mover in this class, pleasing head, neck and front, keeps a
pleasing outlline. 2 Young’s Tarkus Harvest Gold. Red carrying far too much
weight that spoilt the picture, pleasing head but was very lethargic today on
the move. 3 Puckett’s Molloney Willy Wayme.
LD(3) 1 Blackburn-Bennett’s Wyndsmoor Mister Chips At Stargang.
Smart mini wire, lovely head, neck and front, excellent spring of rib, well
angulated hindquarters, moved out well, keeps a pleasing outline at all times,
moved with purpose. 2 Price’s Samlane Tetley. Dog of a different type to first,
presented in excellent coat, pleasing head, neck and front, preferred
hindquarters of the first.
OD (3) 1 Thorn-Andrews’ Ch Drakesleat Win Alot. A very smart male who
I have often admired from the ringside, masculine head with coarseness,
excellent front construction, well placed shoulders, excellent spring of rib,
keeps an excellent topline at all times, well angulated hindquarters which give
drive on the move, pleased to award him CC and BOB and was delighted he was Gp
3. Congratulations. 2 Horswell &Iwama’s Ch &Jap Ch Drakesleat JPTrier Winshoten.
Different type to first, masculine head, neck and front, keeps a level topline
at all times, moved out well but today preferred hindquarters of first.
PB(5) Excellent class of babies. I could have awarded a first to most
of them. 1 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Lady Ga Ga. Pretty bitch, sweet head and
expression, correct well filled front, excellent ribbing, moved out with great
style and purpose, should have a great future, pleased to award her BP and the
RCC, delighted that she won the Puppy Hound Gp. 2 Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat
Sally Forf. Different type to winner but one out of the top drawer, well muscled
bitch, correct head, neck and front, moves out with purpose and drive, sure to
have a great future. 3 Horswell’s Drakesleat No Stone Unturn’d TAF. A super baby
who looks a picture stacked but when she comes together on the move she will hit
the high spots.
JB (4) 1 Otter’s Portalutra Sasha Imi. Smart brindle presented
in excellent coat, sweet head and expression, nice well filled front, keeps a
good outline, moved with drive. 2 Dunn’s B~arratini Bumble At Ashridge. Dark
brindle that needs time to relax, correct head and nice expression, well arched
neck, moved out well but needs more confidence to finish the picture. 3 Mobley’s
Samlane What Else Of Jakanem.
PGB(9) 1 Rigby’s Waldmeister Maud For Rigadac. Nice bitch with
a lovely temperament, correct head, well arched neck, keeps a pleasing outline,
the best mover in the class. 2 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Enduring Love. Larger
type to winner, scores well in all departments but today I preferred the outline
of first on the move, covered the ground ok. 3 Hooper’s Starhill Lady Of Shall
Ott.
LB(7) Interesting class of mixed types that all have different
things to offer the breed. 1 Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat Winsum Losesum. Brindle,
loved her head and expression, super neck, correct shoulders, well muscled
hindquarters, moved out well keeping a lovely outline at all times. 2 Barney’s
Verrami Ava Nuvver Romaunt. Brindle, pretty bitch, sweet head and expression,
well filled front, moved out well, keeps a good topline at all times. 3 Kugow
&Holt’s Waldmeister Steffi JW.
OB(5) 1 Baldwin’s Beckel Pent-House Baby. Smart brindle who I have
judged before, she has matured nicely, lovely head, neck and front, well placed
shoulders, excellent ribbing, well angulated hindquarters, covered the ground
with ease, pleased to award her the CC, her second, I hope her third comes soon.
Congratulations. 2 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Diamond Star. Nice type, scores
well in all departments, moves out well but today I preferred front movement of
winner, sure they will change places another day. 3 Roberts’ Drakesleat
Win’Ertakeall To Swansford.
