DACHSHUND - MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED
There is so much to like about this variety. I love
their bushy eyebrows and old mens' beards. Temperaments were mainly good
throughout. A few had short ribbing, making for a less than ideal loin. I'm not
a mouth fanatic, but some had rather crowded lower incissors, although the bite
was correct. Toplines remain a problem in this variety and I was a little
forgiving in this respect.
MPD(3, 1) 1 Jones' Bimini King Of Swing. Very smart brindle, 7 months,
kept a good balanced outline on the move, very good proportions, super coat, was
a bit lower to ground than second. 2 Hayward's Foxearth Flash News. Dark
brindle, also 7 months with super coat, pleasing head and neck, a bit leggy as
yet and I preferred the underline of first.
PD(4) 1 Phillips' Curtisey Boogy Woogy. Brindle, lovely head and arched
neck, level and smart in profile with beautifully balanced side gait, stood
under behind in stance, handler can correct this, nice forehand construction and
correct front movement. 2 Kugow &Holt's Waldmeister Johnson. Super type all
round with excellent proportions, lovely head and eye, long neck, moved with
verve, tight shoulders, good ribbing, well angulated behind and stood four
square, a budding hunter without doubt, lots to admire, but for me lacks
prosternum. 3 Hardy's Kushwin Incognito.
JD(4) 1 Puckett's Foxearth Free As A Bird. Black and tan with dense
harsh coat, big built, lovely head, neck, bone and feet, good ribbing, nice
quarters with good length of second thigh, was the soundest on the move. 2
Young's Portalutra Mr Thomas Of Tarkus. Lovely topline, ribbing and hind end,
liked the basic proportions of this one but preferred the front movement of
first coming towards. 3 Warren's Grackles Starry Eyed.
PGD(1) 1 Kugow &Holt's Waldmeister Samuel. Super brindle and tan, harsh
coat, lovely head, eye and length of muzzle, neck, topline, ribbing and quarters
all to admire, moved with precision and alacrity, well angled fore and aft with
good follow through, a shade high on the leg and for me lacks prosternum, but
his qualities are obvious and his first place well deserved.
LD(4) 1 Dance's Deepdax Overdraft Too Far Emem. A dark brindle of great
quality with good bone, legs and feet, super masculine head, lengthy neck into
well laid shoulders, body and ribbing good, overall balance in profile won this
small, but not easy class. 2 Howells' Fallowmill Back And Fetch JW ShCM. Brindle
of smaller type, liked his head, neck and front construction, tight elbows, very
good prosternum, well covered body, proportions most pleasing, moved very well
and was close up to first. 3 Moore's Danvichar Euphrasia.
OD(3) 1 Thorn Andrews' Ch Drakesleat Win Alot. Two cracking dogs in
this class. I was a taller type with lovely long masculine head, reachy neck,
super forehand and shoulder, good forechest, legs, bone and feet all good, super
topline and ribbing, good hind angulation with decent second thigh, moves with
precision with balanced side gait, keeping his outline at all times. I've always
admired him. CC and BOB. 2 Blackburn-Bennett &Kuranova's Multi Ch Stargang
Tigers Eye. Different type, lower to ground but just as nice, loved his head,
neck and forehand, lovely curve of forechest, liked his hindquarters and turn of
stifle, both dogs had correct hard coats, the winner may have had more reach and
arch to neck, I've no doubt this quality dog will gain a UK title. RCC.
MPB(6, 1) 1 Daykin's Ashridge Dun Danzin. Very dark brindle, full of
promise all round, of chunky compact build with excellent ribbing, very good
shoulder placement, giving good front movement, nice turn of quarters, long
second thigh, outline kept at all times, super close hard coat of the easy care
type I'd say. 2 Lancaster &Miller's Pellismer Deals A Winner. Lighter brindle,
loved her too, thought might be the winner but threw her front around, very good
profile shape, good topline, lovely hindquarters, used well in profile. 3 Hunt's
Earthsea Chocolate Tear.
PB(6, 1) 1 Blackburn's Stargang Fudge Cake. 10 month tan brindle,
substantial, well bodied pup of lovely type, dense, plush, harsh coat, lovely
shoulder layback, upper arm and curve of forechest, good bone and feet, moved
out well with drive and purpose, rather bushy tail was the only distraction,
everything else was to admire including a wonderful temperament. BP. 2 Feetham's
Kimbleholme Solitaire. B/tan, neat and sound with nice head, lengthy neck and
level topline, keeping a good outline, preferred the bone and feet of first. 3
Powell's Forbell Maisy May.
JB (7) 1 Thorn Andrews' Drakesleat Rupee Wax. Loved her head,
neck and forehand construction, good bone and feet, good shoulder, ribbing and
follow through, most promising, one for the future. 2 Stancliffe's Standach
Reasons Unknown. Brindle of more compact type, correct forechest, pleasing
topline and ribbing, preferred second thigh and hindquarters of first. 3 Price's
Samlane Zaffiro.
PGB(7, 1) 1 Poxon's Kapodach Izzi Miyaki. Dark brindle with good lay of
shoulder, correct curve of forechest (which quite a few lacked), kept topline
standing and moving, super hindquarters and curve of second thigh, short hocks.
2 Walker's Deepdax In The Red At Roselle. Lighter brindle, most pleasing head,
eye, neck and flow into topline, good bone and feet, moved well, two very nice
bitches. 3 Settle &Ashwell-Carter's Verrami Kitsch N'Devil.
LB(9, 1) 1 Meredith's Deepdax Credit Crunch. The third member of this
impressive litter, substantial body of neat, correct conformation all round,
head, neck, topline and ribbing to admire, lovely outline moving, good shoulder
lay and upper arm, pleasing forehand and prosternum sweetly flowed into follow
through to good quarters. 2 Horswell's Drakesleat No Stone Unturn'd Liked her
head, eye and expression, reachy neck into level topline, well angulated
shoulder, lovely curve of forechest, well ribbed, short loin, nice turn of
quarters, moved true with drive, profile was impressive, but I preferred the
underline of first. 3 Jones' Bimini Rhapsody In Blue.
OB(5) 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Ch Stargang Lady Gaga. Red brindle of
lengthy proportions. I've admired ringside. Super head, eye and earset, elegant
neck, good shoulder into super forehand construction with good prosternum, bone
and feet just right, super turn of second thigh and short hocks, lovely outline
and sidegait, moved a bit wide behind but her overall type and quality well
outweighed this. CC. 2 Thorn Andrews' Drakesleat Sally Forf. Taller type
brindle, more compact in make and shape, nice arch to neck, pleasing shoulder
angles and lovely curve of prosternum, tight elbows, good well sprung ribbing
and follow through to nicely turned quarters with neat hocks, looked lovely in
profile with the winner. RCC. 3 Lancaster &Miller's Drakesleat Stone Me With
Pellismer.
