Some lovely quality dogs to go over. Presentation on some could have been better, dirty teeth, long nails, some had flat feet that roadwork could have helped, there is always room for improvement on coat texture, shoulders & hindquarters but the majority here were of good quality. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there has been some improvement to the breed. On the whole it was very nice to have hands on some good quality dogs & I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment.

MPD (4) What a lovely start, some very nice youngsters. 1 Kelly’s Kmai Chq Me Out, 6 months raw baby, just needs to drop through in his front & settle. Nicely balanced throughout, has plenty of time on his side, lovely head with good depth to muzzle, furnishings still to finish, enough reach of neck into good shoulder lay, enough body & length of ribbing well sprung into sound hindquarters. BPD; 2 Fulton’s Bothlyn Brigadoon, another puppy with time on his side, very well presented, well balanced throughout, a lot to like about this boy. It could have been either way between 1 & 2, preferred 1 on movement. This boy should do very well; 3 Hunt’s His Terricle. PD (2) 1 K Chq Me Out; 2 B Brigadoon. JD (3) 1 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Johnson, quite a little showman, moved very well & covered the ground, masculine head with furnishings on his muzzle & eyebrows, dark eyes, correct scissor bite, correctly set ears, lovely reach of neck into reasonably laid shoulders. Would have liked more to his front, ribbing carried back into good loin & reasonable hindquarters, could certainly move well; 2 Phillips’ Curtisey Boogy Woogy, nice dog, nice head, good reach of neck into reasonable shoulders, good body coverage, well sprung ribbing, sound hindquarters. Just needs to settle. Moved & showed well; 3 Whitehouse’s Drakesleat Otto This World. PGD (6) 1 Hassall’s Stargang Vegas Strip, nicely balanced compact dog, kept level topline on the move, nice head, good depth of muzzle, correct scissor bite, conical head with dark eyes, ears set obliquely, lovely neck flowing into good shoulder lay. Would like slightly better front construction. Good depth of keel, well sprung ribbing, sound hindquarters used well on the move; 2 Otter’s Portalutra De Fi Ant, slightly longer in the loin than I’d like with similar remarks as 1. Preferred the front construction on 1 to this boy. Good masculine head, good reach of neck into reasonable shoulder lay, ribbing carried back with good hindquarters, slightly high tailset, covered the ground well; 3 Baxter’s Hotwire Didja Ever. LD (4) 1 Howell’s Fallowmill Back And Fetch, best mover in this class, very nice masculine looking dog, good strong head & scissor bite, enough depth to muzzle with furnishings, dark eyes, correct earset, nice reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Needed slightly more to his front, good depth of keel with well sprung ribbing, nice topline kept on the move, sound hindquarters. RCC; 2 Young & Otter’s Nordach Mr Muffin of Tarkus, slightly longer than 1, similar remarks apply, was a little unsettled on the move, preferred 1’s hindquarters; 3 Moore’s Danvichar Euphrasia. OD (4) 1 Thorn Andrews’ Ch Drakesleat Win Alot, his name is very well thought of, very nice masculine head, enough depth to his muzzle, strong scissor bite, has all his furnishings, strong head with dark eyes, correct earset, lovely reach of neck into correct laid shoulders, good prosternum & enough depth to keel, well sprung ribbing carried well back into sound hindquarters, moved with drive front & rear. CC & BOB, learned this was his 31st CC; 2 Kuranova & Blackburn-Bennett’s Multi Ch Stargang Tigers Eye, very similar remarks to 1, preferred hindquarters on 1. Still a very pleasing dog to go over; 3 Whitehouse’s Drakesleat Ottoff The Press.

MPB (5) 1 Shone’s Hanishan Eau Classique, superb spec of the Min Wire breed, very nice feminine baby, just could not take my eyes off her, lovely head, correct scissor bite, ears set correctly, lovely coat, enough reach of neck into correct shoulders. Front still to develop. good keel, well sprung ribbing carried back, kept level topline on the move with super quarters, moved true with good drive, shall have a very good future. BP; 2 Jones’ Carlita Bewitched, nice raw puppy, just needs to settle, preferred the front on 1. Still a nice girl to go over, moved & showed very well; 3 Stephenson’s Berryrudd Mrs Pepperpot at Wistex. PB (5) 1 Black’s Drakesleat Cheez Der One for Bassodon, nice feminine bitch, lovely head, enough reach of neck, well laid shoulders. Would have liked a little more to her front. Good depth of keel & sprung ribbing, good angulated quarters. Just needs to settle on the move; 2 Daykin’s Ashridge Dun Danzin at Barratini, nice bitch, similar remarks to 1. They could have been either way round, just lost out to 1 on her movement; 3 B Mrs Pepperpott at W. JB (11) This class had a lot of good quality bitches, it was a pleasure to judge. 1 Marton-Teal’s Lordscairnie Love Life, very nice bitch of quality, lovely head with furnishings, nicely set ears, lovely reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good full front & nice depth to her keel, ribbing well sprung & carried back, nice underline & kept level topline on the move using her angulated rear; 2 Barney’s Verrami Domestic Goddess, very similar to 1, just needs to stop sinking into her shoulders; 3 Dunn’s Ashridge Dun Dustine. PGB (5) 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Moll Flanders, mature bitch of quality, nicely balanced throughout & well built, lovely head with furnishings, nicely set ears, lovely reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good front, nice depth to her keel, ribbing well sprung & carried back, nice underline & sound hindquarters, moved well; 2 Moore’s Danvichar Digitalis, liked this bitch, lost out to 1 on movement, seemed unsettled. Very nice to go over & similar remarks apply; 3 Otter’s Russteck Clover. LB (4) 1 Dunn’s Barratini Bumble at Ashridge, lot to like about this bitch, nicely balanced throughout, lovely head with furnishings, scissor bite, dark eyes, nicely set ears, lovely reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good full front, nice depth to her keel, ribbing well sprung & carried back, nice underline, kept level topline on the move, extended using her rear. Just was a little unsettled to what I’ve seen her perform before; 2 Horswell’s Drakesleat No Stone Unturn’d, another nice bitch, lost out to 1 on her topline & preferred the hind movement of 1. Still pleasing to go over; 3 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Love Diamond. OB (7) First three were very nice bitches to have gone over, I was nitpicking between them. 1 Fulton’s Ch Bothlyn Penny Black, worthy ch, very elegant & well presented, lovely head, correct scissor bite, ears set correctly, lovely coat, enough reach of neck into correct shoulders, good keel, well sprung ribbing carried back, kept level topline on the move with super quarters, moved true with good drive. CC; 2 Thorn Andrews’ Drakesleat Mass Wisteria, very nice bitch, similar remarks to 1, if she was settled & moved better would have had CC, I’m sure when she retains her confidence will soon be made up.
