I very much enjoyed judging this pleasing entry of 24 with no absentees. A few were a little bigger than ideal, but not one lacked the necessary weight & condition.
PD (2) 1 Whitehouse’s Alshtadt Kinder Surprise, very promising, pleasing head & eyes, nice neck, shoulders & front, firm topline, well made hindquarters, moved & showed steadily & soundly. BP; 2 Morrison’s Benzden Armani, good head, pleasing neck & shoulders, well bodied, good thighs, particularly good coat. Bigger than 1 & not yet as settled either standing or moving. JD (0). PGD (1) 1 Jones’ Shantallah Black Diamond among Corlita, pleasing head, eyes & nose, nice outline, good hindquarters. Carrying a little too much weight over the front & girth at present, but is a true Dachshund who enjoyed himself moving out freely. LD (0). OD (5) 1 Fulton’s Bothlyn Brigadoon, lovely head & expression, good neck & shoulders, neat legs & feet, nice outline, good hindquarters, drove well in movement, very nice coat condition. CC which I was delighted to hear was his third; 2 Dances’ Deepdax Overdraft Too Far Emem, made on very nice lines, 1 had the edge on head & slightly in movement, but he had a little more ground clearance. Good coat, very shapely, appealed a lot. RCC; 3 Patton’s Ir Ch Wentwood Over To You Lesandnic.
PB (2) Two very pleasing babies. 1 Morrison’s Benzden Prada, a true Wire Dachs in miniature & should always make the weight, pleasing neck & shoulders with good forechest, good topline, nice coat, well made hindquarters, moved well; 2 Miller’s Trelanis What’s The Craic, attractive, nicely balanced to size & weight, ribs well back, nice over the loin & croup. Not as pleasing on the move as 1. JB (1) 1 Kelly’s Rioban Felt Finnish for Kmai, beautiful youngster only just out of puppy, pleasing head, good neck, shoulders & outline, very good front assembly, good hindquarters, moved & showed well, full of quality. I loved her. CC & BOB. PGB (5) 1 Dance’s Emem Candy Sunshine, very nice shapely bitch, pleasing head, good neck, shoulders & topline, good firm hindquarters, moved & showed well; 2 Blackburn’s Stargang Fudge Cake, not just the ground clearance of 1 & not as pleasing in ribs. Nice neck & head carriage, very good thighs, good coat condition, showed well; 3 Jones’ Carlita Bewitched. LB (3) Rather a contrast in movement in this class. 1 Whitehouse’s Rioban Firm Favourite, very typical pleasing bitch, good topline, nice hindquarters, true front, moved well to & fro, nice coat; 2 Ellrich’s Ashridge Dun Dustine with Malrich, very nice head & eyes, well bodied, excellent side movement. Not as accurate to & fro; 3 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Czarina. OB (5) 1 Whitehouse’s Ir Ch Rioban Fine Finnish, neat & unexaggerated, lovely head, good neck, shoulders & topline, well made hindquarters, good coat, well ribbed, good over the loin. RCC, half sister to my BOB; 2 Dance’s Ir Ch Emem Sunny Spells, very pleasing overall but not quite as good as 1 in hindquarters or coat here. Pleasing outline, good neck, shoulders & ground clearance; 3 Blackburn’s Stargang Moll Flanders.
