Many thanks  to the Birmingham Show Society for inviting me to judge their  national dog show. Also big thanks to all the exhibitors for giving  me such a nice entry. A special thanks to my stewards for their  smooth efficient help during a most enjoyable day. On the whole I  thought the quality was of a good standard, coats were at various  stages and I noticed, that a few exhibits were scissored which did  spoil them. I was slightly disappointed with some mouths, but most  exhibits showed a lot of big strong teeth. I was very happy with my  principal winners and feel confident they would also be successful on  the continent.

MPD 1 Payton's Marajo Krinkle. Typical head and expression, very good  topline for this age, promising pup. Has time on his side. 2 Hunt's  Earthseas Dark Shadow. Very nice head and good beard, moves well for  the age but needs to gain confidence with maturity. PD1  Billinghurst's Jiljac Tsar Very Much. Dark Wildboar, excellent type  and head, moved well with drive. 2 Hunt's Earthseas Pocket Rocket.  Good head with nice beard, good coat, needs time to develop in  movement and topline.

JD 1 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Neil's On Wheels. Very sound,  balanced dog, very good topline, moves well with drive. A very  friendly dog.

PGD1  Finney's Emporio Armani Vitoraz NAFTAF. Size at the upper edge,  masculine dog of excellent type with perfectly matching head, good  mouth, well let down hindquarters which he uses to his advantage. A  dog with a future. RCC. 2 Puckett's Foxearth Free As A Bird. Black  and tan coloured, well proportioned dog with nice head, moves sound  but not as good in the hind as the first.

LD1  Phillips' Curtisey Boogy Woogy JW. Super wire coat, very nice head,  very well balanced, moves excellent with good drive. 2 Kugow &Holt's  Waldmeister Johnson JW. Well balanced and excellent forebreast, moves  excellent, but would prefer better tail set and slightly harsher  coat.

OD1  Thorn-Andrews' Ch Drakesleat Win Alot. A very balanced dog with  good coat and an outstanding topline, nice head and expression, very  showy, moves with drive, lovely overall forechest and ribbing. Won  with ease. CC, BOB. 2 Howells' Ch Fallowmill Back And Fetch JW  ShCM. Excellent type, very good head, preferred the hair quality of  the first, moves sound with drive, good topline, unlucky today to be  in competition with first. 3 Dance's Deepdax Overdraft Too Far  Emem.

MPB1  Finney's Gulliagh Serrano. Very sound and balanced puppy with  excellent coat, good head which needs time to develop, moves very  well for a pup of this age, very nice angulations, very friendly. 2  Hunt's Earthseas Dark Sorcery. Nicely shaped, good head with lots  of hair, stood well, topline needs time to develop, but this can  change quickly at this age. 3 Roberts' Marajo Jump'N Jive.

PB1  Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Czarina. She took my eye as she  entered the ring, a beauty! Very sound, balanced and moving very good  at this age. Feminine head and shoulder, good ribcage and not too  close to the ground, very good topline. A pleasure to judge her. BP  and CC. 2 Shone's Bratenklein I Love The Little Thing. Feminine  bitch with good type, well angulated, overall shorter and more  compact than first, stood well, needs time to develop.

JB 1 Kugow &Holt's Stargang Vera Wang Bei Waldmeister. Wildboar  colour, very elegant, very good head and coat, moved sound with level  topline. Excellent angulations. 2 Howells' Fallowmill On The  Button. Good coat, feminine head and expression, moving well in hind  but not as good as first in the front.

PGB 1 Poxon's Kapodach Cup Cake JW. Excellent head, hair and type, well  laid back shoulder, moving sound, excellent hind angulation, level  topline, nice temperament. 2 Walker's Deepdax In The Red At  Roselle. Very good head and expression, not as good in the topline as  first, but moving very well with good drive due to the exc. hind  angulation.

LB 1 Addoo's Reulemill Freya Fraywood. Excellent type, good head,  moved true coming and going, good straight front, presented  professionally in perfect condition. 2 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat  Round N Round. Very good type and topline, nice head and expression,  hair condition and presentation not as good as first. 3 Meredith's  Deepdax Credit Crunch.

OB 1 Blackburn's Stargang Moll Flanders. Well balanced head, lovely  length of neck, excellent forebreast, presented in perfect coat  condition, very good topline and angulations. RCC. 2 Finney's Ir Ch  Nice One From Vitoraz To Gulliagh. Excellent proportions, feminine  head and expression, moved well but I preferred hair condition of  first. 3 Dance's Ir Ch Emem Sunny Spells.
