DACHSHUND - MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED
A very inconsistent entry which was
difficult to judge as there was little correlation between the stacked and
moving pictures the dogs made and only a few were able to move freely while
keeping their balance and outline. On a positive note, all the dogs were within
the accepted weight and not one had been kept underweight to make the limit.
MPD (1) 1. Fallowmill In The Doghouse. Just six months old and
naturally very puppyish. Immature in head, sweet expression, ears placed very
far back on skull. Pleasing neck. Firm back. Acceptable angulation in front,
well angulated behind. At his young age, he strives to find his balance, but at
times he finds it and then looks good. Pleasing harsh coat. Used his hindlegs
quite well in movement.
PD (2) 1. Stargang Crusoe. Standing a dog of very attractive balance.
Pleasing head, ears could be closer to skull. Would prefer full dentition.
Strong neck, good forechest. Attractive topline. Quite good coat quality. He
needed to stabilize in his hind action and lifted the tail above the topline in
movement. 2. Earthseas Pocket Rocket. Young male of very pleasing type, but
needs a lot more lay-back of upper arm and forechest. Balanced topline, but his
tail set is too high, but his tail carriage on the move is still better than
the winner. Good harsh coat.
JD (2) 1. Drakesleat Neil's On Wheels. A very sound dog which pleased
in movement, well constructed and balanced. Head is not his fortune, including
widely placed eyes. Pleasing neck. Good lay-back of upper arm and pleasing
forechest for age. Firm topline, well set tail. His coat is ready for a good
trim. Moved well from all angles. 2. Portalutra the Glory. Elegant male with an
attractive head and expression. Good ears. Moderate neck. Elbows could be
closer to body. Not quite the outline of the winner and not as positive in
movement. Pleasing coat quality.
PGD (1) 1. Hotwire Didja Ever. Male with a long, attractive, masculine
head. Moderate neck. Could do with a better layback of upper arm. Pleasing
topline. His tail is too high set and is carried straight up in movement.
Prefer more angulation behind. Acceptable coat. Enthusiastic and merry in
movement, but toes in in front and the tail carriage is disturbing.
LD (6) 1. Waldmeister Johnson JW. Eye-catching, masculine dog of very
attractive type. Very pleasing head, expression and ears. Strong neck, good
forechest. Attractive, well proportioned and shapely topline, prefer slightly
longer sternum. Balanced angulation behind. Excellent coat quality. Moved
soundly and with energy, at times somewhat proud of his tail, but made good
sense from all angles. CC. 2.Bothlyn Brigadoon JW. Another dog with an
attractive silhouette. Pleasing head, good ears. Long neck, well set into
withers and well angulated front with very good keel. Unfortunately tended to
give away in his knees behind when standing and unstable in his hind movement.
Body coat of pleasing structure, but soft on head and legs. 3. Curtisey Boogy
Woogy JW.
OD (6,1) 1. Waldmeister Samuel JW. A dog with high-class quality, but I
would definitely not want him any higher on legs. Beautiful, classical head
with excellent length and lovely expression. Attractive neck. Acceptable
forechest, but could do with some more volume in the lower part of his brisket.
Well balanced topline. Harsh coat in very good condition. Moved with energy and
power, another who was somewhat proud of his tail. Res CC. 2. Portalutra Mr
Thomas of Tarkus. A dog with much the opposite qualities to the winner. He is
low to ground and very generous in his body proportions. Attractive head if a
bit round in skull. Pleasing expression. Long neck, well angulated front. Firm
back. Well angulated behind. Acceptable coat structure. Moved with energy, but
toed in quite markedly in front and did not have enough clearance to ground in
movement. 3. Drakesleat Ottoff The Press.
VD (1) 1.Bothlyn Timemaster at Sharplaw. Masculine dog with attractive
proportions, but not comfortable in the ring and has a frightened expression.
Pleasing neck and layback of upper arm, very good keel. Needs to firm up in
topline both standing and moving. Pleasing body coat, but soft on legs.
MPB (4) 1.Barratini Hot Gossip. A lovely puppy bitch who has come a
long way for her age and for what I was told was her first show. Very balanced
and with a beautiful body. Nice enough head, dark eyes, very pleasing ears.
Strong neck. Excelled in upper arm and forechest as well as body volume.
Pleasing topline. Coat of correct quality, although not in the very best knick
on the day. Balanced, efficient mover. Best Puppy. 2. Lordscairnie Look of
Love. Another well-developed bitch puppy for her age with a very good body.
Attractive expression from dark eyes. Moderate neck, firm topline. Her coat is
harsh on body, but soft on legs and forechest. Moved with energy and power,
acceptable coming and going. 3. Stargang Tipsy Trifle at Daisonville.
PB (3,1) 1. Earthseas Dark Sorcery. Rather immature, but attractive
bitch, puppyish in head and expression. Excellent ears. Good neck. Needs to
keep on developing in body. Firm topline even if slightly high behind at this
time and needs to dvelope more muscles over her loins. At times she moved quite
well. 2.Trixhund Tattiannie Ravensbeech. Attractive bitch standing, more mature
than the winner. Refined head, needs some more strength of muzzle. Attractive
neck. Good forechest for age and pleasing silhouette standing. Good coat
quality. Kept jumping around in movement and needs to find her balance on the
move.
JB (6) 1. Russteck Magdalina. A bitch with a lot of quality about her.
She is feminine, has class and a lovely streamlined shape over her neck and
topline. Well chiseled head with a lovely expression and even at such a young
age is very full of herself. Excellent neck. She needs to develop more
forechest and width with maturity. Lovely outline. Excellent neck. Moved very
light on her feet, free and flowing at all times keeping her balance and
outline. CC & BOB. 2. Stargang Czarina. Well developed bitch with a very
eyecatching silhouette, but I would prefer slightly more length of leg for
optimal balance. Very expressive head. Strong neck, good forechest. Firm
topline, well developed hindquarters. Very pleasing coat structure. Reasonable
mover, but not up to the winner in ease, carriage or style. 3. Waldmeister
Hattie.
PGB (8,2) Not the best class. 1. Stargang Vera Wang Bei Waldmeister.
Long-cast bitch with very pleasing quality and attractive outline standing.
Long, well chiseled head. Pleasing neck, good lay-back of upper arm and
forechest. Pleasing topline, but falls away too much over the croup which
limits her stride from the side. Attractive coat texture. 2. Fallowmill On The
Button. Feminine bitch with a shortish head, but quite attractive expression.
Well angulated in front. Pleasing topline standing, but not firm enough on the
move, even if using her legs well enough. Harsh body coat, but tending to form
curls. 3. Kapodach Cup Cake.
LB (6,1) 1. Lordscairnie Love Life. Powerful bitch with just enough
elegance. Reasonable head with dark eyes, neat ears. Strong neck, good
forechest. Firm topline. Well angulated behind. I would have preferred a
somewhat more generous outline, but won the class on her balanced and quite
powerful side movement. 2. Drakesleat Round n' Round. Much more instantly
attractive bitch standing with a very striking silhouette and excellent
proportions and with more intensity than the winner. I liked her a lot.
Attractive head. Excellent forechest, balanced angulation both ends.
Unfortunately not confident in the ring which negatively influenced her
movement and restricted her drive. 3. Russteck Perchance To Dream.
OB (6) 1. Stargang Moll Flanders. Very eye-catching bitch standing for
her striking balance and intensity of type. Beautiful head, excellent
expression. Lovely neck, correctly slightly arched and well set into withers.
Excellent forechest and return of upper arm. I would not want her any shorter
on legs than this. Excellent topline on the stack and well angulated behind.
Enthusiastic mover, but struggled a bit with her front movement in the grass
and tended to lift her tail. resCC. 2. Ir.Ch.Emem Sunny Spells. A feminine
bitch with a handsome silhouette, but rather too narrow, especially over the
loin. Pleasing neck, could do with some more forechest. Excellent topline which
she held firmly on the move, which was the exception in this class, and she
scored in movement over her competition. Pleasing coat quality. 3. Ch.
Barratini Buble at Ashridge JW.
