Well, the threatened bad weather held off, and the sun shone onto a well run and happy show. My two stewards were great, and I hope their stamina held out, as they had a further six breeds to work on after me. Well done and thanks to them. My comments about the breed are not all good. The old problem regarding mouths has not, (as at one time we had worked for and seemed to be succeeding,) been 100% effective, as I found incorrect dentition, and dirty teeth, even one Junior had scales on his teeth. Come on, this is a 'beauty show', and filthy mouths are not acceptable. Some presentation was top class, and some was not. Temperaments are, on the whole good, but training for some of the exhibits is sadly lacking, making them impossible to assess. It only takes five minutes a day, and showing is an expense these days, so at least try to make your dog presentable. My top winners are an asset to the breed, and pleased me. Thank you all.

PD (4,1) 1 Blackburns Stargang Crusoe. Best Puppy in Breed. dark brindle 8 month old pup. Great angles. He has a good coat, great angles with a correct forechest, moved well and correctly. Really promising. 2 Lewis Trixhund Beluga. Another very nice puppy, and when he gains confidence should do well. Red brindle. It all came together when he moved. 3 Hoopers Starhill Sir Lancelot.

JD (2) 1 Thorn Andrews Drakesleat Neil's On Wheels. Small dark brindle, fair front, topline held and true, correct quarters; he wasn't thrilled with showing, but moved well. 2 Neate's Beaucat Chedda George. Love the name. Wish I could comment about the structure, but he was impossible to assess. Moved fairly.

PGD (3,1) 1 Puckett's Foxearth Free As A Bird. A black/tan dog of great quality. Coat is super, Lovely head, correct front with good angles, lovely bone, Moved and showed well, slight roach when moving. He is good, but a too big for me. 2 Neate's Beaucat Exfactor. He is not in his best coat at this time. Finer boned, he also has a slight roach in his topline, but he is a sweet little character.

LD (5,3) 1 Phillips Curtisey Boogy Woogy. A dark brindle dog who has a nice shape, good feet and bone and boasts good angles fore and aft. Lovely head and neck, correct tail set, moved quite well. 2 Moors Danvichar Euphrasia. A neat and tiny dog with finer bone. Very smart 'gentleman' Has everything in a small package. Close decision, between two very different types.

OD (5) 1 Dog CC and BOB Hassall & McLeods Ch Sidelock Formular One. I have liked this dog for some time, and this is the first time I have been able to go over him. He boasts a lovely head, neck and shoulder. His body is well covered, and beautifully turned out. Pleasing temperament. I would prefer a better hind angulation, but this did not affect his true movement, and it gave me great pleasure to award him top honours. 2 Reserve CC. Dances Deepdax Overdraft Too Far Emem. Dark brindle of quality. Nothing to conceal here. He has a good front, level topline held when moving soundly. He is of similar type to the winner, and they could change places another time. Pleasing. 3 Thorn Andrews Drakesleat Ottoff The Press.

PB (7) 1 Shones Bratenklein I Love The Little Thing. She is a pretty little puppy, who has confidence and shows it. She has a good body, fair angles, and a well presented coat. Moved with energy and precision. 2 Marston-Teal's Lordscairnie Look Of Love. A nice typey bitch 8 months old, very sweet with time on her side. Well presented and showed well. 3 Hunt's Earthseas Darek Sorcery. JB (4,1) 1 Blackburn Bennett's Stargang Czarina. Beautifully balanced with lovely bone, she has a quality red coat presented in top order. Structure is pleasing, but it all came together with her top class movement. 2 Shones Hanishaneau Classique. Pin wire brindle bitch, Good right angles fore and aft. I would have liked a bit more prosternum, but she is pleasing and a quality bitch. Moved well and truly. 3 Howells Fallowmill On The Button.

PGB (10,3) 1 Dances Emem Candy Sunshine. This bitch moved like a dream, with sound and lively stride, level, with lots of thrust. Well placed shoulders and hindquarters. I would prefer a little more forechest, but she is a very nice bitch. 2 Marston-Teals Lordscairnie Love Life. Lighter coloured brindle. She is lower to ground than first. Typey bitch of quality. Very sweet and moved well. 3 Kemps Vossmead Lola Rose.

LB (6,2) 1 Prices Samlane Zaffiro. A very balanced little bitch, correct angles both ends, level topline held on the move, which she does well. Good bone. Pleasing head. 2 Thorn Andrews Drakesleat Off Favourite. Lovely balanced little bitch of quality. Well constructed and, as all this exhibitors dogs, well presented. Moved well. 3 Hunts Earthseas Chocolate Tear.

OB (5) 1 Thorn Andrews CC Drakesleat Trix Of The Trade. First two in this class are two "classy" bitches. Winner is balanced and typey. And moved superbly. Very true and sound. Lovely forechest showing off her correct shoulders. Level topline and a good example of the breed. 2 and Res CC Blackburn Bennetts Ch Stargang Lady Gaga. I have admired this lovely bitch and going over her I confirmed my thoughts. She is well made and my placing here is because today she was moving wider at the rear and the winner wasn't. Another day she may not, but having said that, she is a very worthy champion, and I love them both. 3 Dances Ir Ch Emem Sunny Spells. My thanks for your good sportsmanship.
