MPD (3) 1 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Darby, 6 months. Excellent type, well balanced outline with good ground clearance. Quality head, big strong teeth, good length of neck, nicely boned & well ribbed, pleasing coat texture. Moves quite soundly but topline needs to settle a little. Nicely covered; 2 Feetham’s Kimbleholme Jackpot, 6 months, a little lower to ground than 1 & shorter in ribcage yet he holds his topline well. Attractive head & expression, well boned, needs to strengthen behind, coat a little softer than 1; 3 Grant’s Granhoward Geoffrey. PD (2) 1 Jones’ Bimini Starstruck, 9 months, excellent overall type, size & shape. Balanced head with excellent expression, well filled front, nicely ribbed back & well let down behind. Carrying optimum bodyweight, quality coat. Sound mover, covering the ground with ease but hopefully will carry himself a little more nobly as he grows up. In the challenge he went well & was the dog who so clearly matched the CC winner for type that he won the RCC. I was pleased to discover that this was his sire. Also BP; 2 Lewis’ Bastlefords Toffee Crips at Trixhund, almost a year, slightly leggier type than 1. Very pleasing head & expression, good bone but shorter ribcage than 1 & needs a little more bodyweight, sound extrovert mover. JD (3) 1 Feetham’s Bothlyn Wee Man at Kimbleholme, nicely conditioned, good overall balance, quality head but preferred the eye & expression of 2, could be a little longer in ribcage, makes the best of himself on the move using his tail well. Quite good coat texture; 2 Thorn Andrews’ Drakesleat Hostile Takeova, loved his head & expression & the static outline is very impressive. Like 1, ribcage could be a little longer but his front is well filled, has strong bone & promising coat. Not as confident or steady on the move as 1; 3 Hunt’s Earthsea’s Billy The Kid. UGD (1) 1 Lancaster’s Pellismer Ottdeal, for his frame I would like him carrying more weight & the coat could be harsher & in better order. Good head type, topline not his fortune & rear movement needs to strengthen. PGD (1) 1 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Moment Of Love, balanced head, excellent dentition, rather underweight for his frame, a little short in ribcage & could be better in croup and hindquarters, using his rear more effectively. LD (1) 1 Grant’s Barratini Ted Astaire at Granhoward, well covered yearling, good basic head type, enough bone, well covered, a little short in rib, holds his topline well but could use his hocks better & his tail more enthusiastically. Pleasing coat. OD (2) 1 Rose’s Ch Ridanflight Ricardo, handsome, upstanding with a natural presence & so well balanced. Fundamentally good head type, very well bodied & boned, excellent keel, well ribbed back, firm hard backline, nicely angulated rear & tight harsh jacket. Moves soundly & with style. Won the CC & BOB easily & then put on a great performance in the big ring to take G3 under Espen Engh; 2 Phillips’ Ch Curtisey Boogy Woogy, lighter in eye than 1, smaller framed but quite well put together, not in such good coat as 1 & not so steady behind.
MPB (5) 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Liberty Belle, 7 months well bodied, beautifully balanced & in good form. Appealing head & expression, well boned & ribbed, just needs to strengthen behind but still moves out with purpose; 2 Daykin’s Barratini Hot Stuff, another good headed bitch of 7 months, excellent size & shape, promising coat, just not as settled in topline as 1 but still a steady mover; 3 Feetham’s Kimbleholme Queen Of Hearts. PB (2) 1 Morris’ Pennywave Top Totti, 9 months, very typy, ideal size & shape, lovely head & eye, very well balanced outline but could have longer ribcage. Enough bone, promising coat, just needs to strengthen behind; 2 Reilly’s Rieyonne Landau, 10 months rather leggier than 1 & narrower all through. Quality head, reasonable coat, needs to drop into her rear & move a little more truly. JB (4) 1 Shone’s Hanishan Bellepaque, close coated 13 months & really good breed type but a darker eye would enhance the expression. Balanced head, well filled front, nicely covered & strong bone. Stands well on her legs & moves with purpose. Ribcage could be longer; 2 Howells’ Fallowmill Carolina, 14 months, petite but well bodied, feminine head, well developed front, nicely covered & promising coat but again could have longer ribcage & while she has a darker eye than 1 she needs to strengthen behind; 3 Mobley’s Jakanem What You Will. UGB (3) 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Compania Faberge, very well made & beautifully covered. Quality head, well filled front, smooth flow of neck into shoulders, immaculate topline, a little short in ribcage but well let down behind, decent coat & dead sound mover. RCC; 2 Clements’ Blidworth Beauty, narrower behind & not as well finished in body. Feminine head, good bone, again a little short in ribcage. Not quite as flawless in topline as 1; 3 Walker’s Roselle Irenee. PGB (3) 1 Morris’ Banburg Black Opal at Stargang, very well finished & covered, ideal size, set up throws out very striking outline. A little heavy in backskull but the profile pleases. Excellent to go over, sound & stylish mover; 2 Meredith’s Deepdax Perrie, another well conditioned bitch who has the edge in head over 1 but topline isn’t as settled on the go-around. Excellent coat. Well angulated but again could have slightly longer ribcage; 3 B Beauty. LB (4) 1 Morris’ Stargang Quintina at Pennywave, very stylish, beautiful head & expression, smart well balanced outline, nicely bodied & boned, holds an impeccable topline, goes around covering the ground with ease but could be truer going away; 2 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Annie, a little stronger in skull than 1 but she has an imposing profile. Nicely constructed, moves better behind than in front, neatly coated; 3 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Rhythm Of Love. OB (5) 1 Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat Fingers Xrossed, very sound unexaggerated type, charming head & expression, nicely bodied, decent coat, well ribbed, strong bone. Moves steadily. Overall correctness took her through to the CC which was apparently her third. A worthy champion; 2 Lewis’ Trixhund Tati Romanova, totally different & would love to see her in full coat as she has a rare smartness & presence coupled with a workmanlike agility. Quality forehand, excellent topline, very well angulated front & back. Quite magical on the go-around but didn’t have the coat to go any further today; 3 Jones’ Bimini From Russia With Love.
