Really enjoyed judging mini wires again my previous
appointment being Crufts 2012
Thank you to the exhibitors for the lovely entry it was
very much appreciated.in general I feel that the quality in this variety has
gone down in the last 5years,one reason for this could be that people are
just following trends when choosing a suitable dog for their bitch and not
looking beyond that into what would actually suit their Lines ,i do feel
that many of the foreign lines may play a part in this because they are of
of a completely different type ,we seem to have lost the elegance of the
hound ,there are too many either straight or far to heavy shoulders,length
of ribbing is still a problem as is hind angulation, also as I constantly
say miniature Dachshunds are hounds and should move as one not as a toy! On
the plus side heads have greatly improved as have coats and presentation
with a few exceptions who need nails attending too.i was delighted with my
main winners.
Minor puppy Dog (3)
1.Fultons Bothlyn Super Trooper, just over 7 months
little immature at the moment but has got potential, he has a lovely head
and eye with good pro sternum and excellent shoulder placement moved soundly
front and back to be over critical would prefer better feet but one who I'm
sure will go far when fully mature.
2.Kirkwood-Emery Helydon Laird Loki,Another baby who
has plenty of time I just preferred the front assembly of the winner.
3.Fleetham, Kimbleholme King Of Hearts.
Puppy Dog (4) 1,Kay, Kaytian Tempest Over Hiati, lovely
happy red young man who has personality plus showing on a loose lead and not
strung up! Lovely head and long neck into well angulated shoulders excellent
pro sternum and a lovely hammy backend, good coat and presentation he keeps
his outline very well on the move keeping a good topline moving with
purpose. Promising boy.Best Puppy.
2,Russell, Russteck The Bruce, Brindle boy who needs to
gain in confidence and hold his head up on the move, he is a quality lad
with correct shoulders and ribbing fair pro sternum tended to move close in
front but this could be because he wouldn't get his head up .
3,Reilly, Phyvars Winston.
Junior Dog (4)1, Thorn Andrews, Ch. Alncroft Over The
Moon Drakesleat,lovely boy who pleased me immensely he is in my opinion the
correct type with the most beautiful head and eye correctly constructed
shoulders lovely reach of neck ,correct pro sternum and well angulated
quarters on the move he is true both front and back presenting a very nice
package indeed.
2, Kaytian Tempest Over Hiati.
3,Russteck The Bruce.
Post Graduate Dog (2) 1, Clark, Lordscairnie Love God,
lovely brindle lad who really has much to admire, he has the correct
shoulder assembly lovely reach of neck good topline well muscled hammy
quarters very true both coming and going and beautifully presented.pleased
to award him Res cc.
2,Hayward & Howells Fallowmill Cambera,Brindle who lost
out today on coat.
Limit Dog,(2,1ab) Presnail, Taree Useless Loop, brindle
with good head and eye neat shoulders and fair topline would prefer more
length of both top and under ribbing.
Open Dog,(5),1,Thorn Andrews, Ch Drakesleat Win A lot,
wow 9 and a half years young!! And shows and acts like a youngster such a
credit to his owner/breeder he certainly has the X Factor!! The most
beautiful head and eye with a keen expression he oozes quality, correct well
placed angulated shoulders lovely reach of neck lacking in so many,
prominent forechest good depth of ribbing with excellent topline and nicely
rounded hammy quarters excellent ground coverage perfectly true front and
back add to this the obvious devotion from dog and owner and you have
complete package , I was delighted to award him cc which gave him The Breed
Record well done and very well deserved and BOB.
2,Jones,Ch. Bimini Starstruck, very worthy champion
lovely type of boy who has many obvious breed points to admire today though
for some reason he was turning a back foot in on the move.
3,Fleethams Kimbleholme jackpot.
Minor Puppy Bitch(4),1, Jones Bimini Wish Upon A Star,
lovely brindle baby of excellent type with lovely flowing lines quality
outline kept at all times for me though she could do with a slightly longer
reach of neck, how ever she has many other attributes to admire that should
do her well in the future.
2,Morris,Pennywave Pollyanna, nicely constructed
brindle overall lovely head and eye and excellent pro sturnum however today
her rear movement let her down today.
3,Kirkwood-Emery, Helydon Fabulous Freya.
Puppy Bitch(3) 1,Grant,Granhoward Ownly, lovely little
girl just my type beautiful head and eye neck running into well placed
angulated shoulders , good spring and depth of rib keeps a good topline
whilst moving with elegance around the ring.
2,Daykin, Barrantini Angels Eve,Again a promising
youngster at present though is slightly heavy in shoulder she is only young
though so this could change.
3,Hunt, Earthsea Miss Givings.
Junior Bitch,(10) 1,Jones, Bimini Blue Moon,really
liked this youngster again of the same type this kennel produces,lovely
flowing lines quality all through excellent outline kept at all times, a
bright future ahead of this young lady.
2,Fultons Bothlyn Half A Sixpence, young lady with many
qualitys to admire including nice head and eye lovely reach of neck and well
laid shoulders excellent hind angulation however she had just come into
season which was probably the reason for her moving slightly wide behind.
3,Black, Bassondon Dodecahedron.
Post Graduate Bitch,(6), 1,Meredith, Deepdax Perrie,
lovely bitch with super bone and construction lovely spring of rib nicely
rounded hammy quarters excellent tight feet very true on the move both front
and back a very houndy bitch who has much to admire another one with I hope
a good future.
2,Morris, Pennywave uptown Girl Jw ShCm, nice bitch
unlucky to meet number 1 she too is a quality lady but she was too heavy in
shoulder for me.
3,Selley, Ubu Belarus Nahla To Heleanne.
Limit Bitch,(7) 1,Meredith, Deepdax Lets Dance, Dam to
the winner of PG and you can see where Perrie gets her qualities from, she
is very sound from top to tail add to this true free movement and you have a
lovely bitch.
2, Morris, Pennywave Top Totti Jw ShCm, nice bitch with
appealing head and eye lovely rear angulation with fair movement but I would
prefer tighter elbows and a longer under rib.
3,Marston- Teal, Lordscairnie Life Of Love.

In Time, A Beautiful brindle lady who is so my type she oozes quality from
her beautiful head and eye lovely long reach of neck correctly laid and well
angulated shoulder good pro sturnum , tight feet lovely front well rounded
angulated rear so true both front and back keeping her outline at all times
on the move in profile , I was delighted to award her cc.
2,Smith & Moon, Drakesleat Prim N Proper For Alncroft,
The most beautiful bitch litter sister to number 1, what a beautiful litter
, she is a slightly different type to Stitch but none the less I loved her
so very well constructed all through with fantastic shoulders ribs and hind
angulation lovely head and eye and the best of front assembly she moves with
good reach and drive beautifully presented and so well shown by her young
handler who really gets the best out of her and this young lady's love for
her dog is so obvious for everyone to see I awarded her the res cc and
learnt after that she has already 2ccs her 3 should not be far away.
