I should like to thank first SWKA for inviting me to
judge, secondly my very helpful stewards, and finally the exhibitors who took my
decisions with such good grace. I last judged the breed in 2011, and I feel that
there are now many more different shapes and sizes, which can’t be good, also
many seemed to be very apathetic about being in the show ring, not much “look at
me”
MPD. (1)Ridanflight Reginald, A happy brindle boy, pleasing head, reasonable
coat ,nice front angulation and length of ribbing, basically just needs to
mature. Moved quite well, rather proud of his tail at the moment! I liked his
attitude. PD.(0). JD.(0) PGD (2) 1. Lordscairnie Love God, dark brindle, good
coat, reasonable angles and ribbing, nice tight feet. Looks good when stacked,
on the move a bit close coming towards, and would like a bit more extension.
(2). Fallowmill Cambera, in conformation close up to 1. ,looked nice in profile,
moved quite well, though a bit wide behind. Handler does the dog no favours, try
and get it together! LD.(3,1) 1. Waldmeister Aldo JW., an ‘up together’ brindle
with lovely head and expression, well off for bone and has good proportions
height to length, correct front and well muscled quarters, which he used to move
with drive and extension. I thought he was lovely. CC. 2. Granhoward Edward, a
rangier b/t with a slightly softer coat, nice head and correct dark eyes, his
front and rear angulations were good but appeared a bit tucked up. More on the
leg than 1., he had well knuckled feet and moved true. OD.(3) A hard choice, all
had good conformation, and have no doubt changed places on other occasions,
today they all appeared a bit ‘spiritless’. 1. Fallowmill Sydney, well presented
dog, compact, good front construction, ribbing carried well back. Well muscled
and moved with drive, keeping a level topline. RCC. 2.Alncroft Over the Moon
Drakesleat, masculine head, dark eye, nice front, strong hindquarters, didn’t
settle on the move so his rear action was erratic . 3.Ch Ridanflight Ricardo. VD
1. Ch Curtisey Boogy Woogy JW. Good looking 7yr old, well laid shoulders,
pronounced sternum, and keel carried well back. Moved well. GCD. (0)
MPB.(4) A class of mixed types. 1. Starhill Flirty Gerty, good looking dark
brindle, feminine head, nice dark eye, and super wire coat. Well angulated fore
and aft with a nice underline, enough hamminess of quarters to give drive and
extension on the move, very well handled. I shall watch her future with
interest. RCC. 2. Pennywave Pollyanna, different type of well made puppy, good
spring of rib, with underline followed well through, good turn of stifle, nice
feet. Just lacking the free movement of the winner, but a very nice bitch. 3.
Holrik Henrietta. PB. 1. Starhill Flirty Gerty. 2.Emem Gloria Sunshine, another
quality puppy, well off for bone, more compact than 1., good layback of shoulder
and ribbing carried back. She moved well, but I felt the winner was a touch more
elegant. 3. Granhoward Ethel. JB. (3) 1.Bassodon Dodecahedron, dark brindle of
nice type, well boned, harsh wire coat, typical head with good reach of neck and
running into well laid back shoulders, nice beefy back end which helped make her
the best mover in the class. 2. Lordscairnie Moon Over Love, not quite the
length of 1., but a nice type in all ways, moved out well keeping a level
topline. 3. Fallowmill Cap It All at Rosswell. PGB. 1. Pennywave Uptown Girl JW
ShCM, was alone in her class, but in the lineup came into her own, she is a good
size, has a lovely head and dark almond eyes , well ribbed back and keel and
underline following through smoothly, correctly laid shoulders, good reach of
neck. She moved out well, parallel and keeping topline. Pleased to award her the
CC. LB.(6,2) Lordscairnie Life of Love, a compact little bitch, pretty head,
elegant neck into well laid shoulders. Good angulation fore and aft, nice tight
feet. Moved well with extension. 2. Drakesleat Gilder Lily, sweet head, lighter
coat, nice front and underline and good forechest. Longer in the loin than 1.,
and moved slightly wide behind. 3. Ubu Belarus Nahla. OB.(2) 1. Ch Drakesleat
Stitch in Time, elegant, nice head, reachy neck into correctly placed shoulders,
good underline. Moved very well keeping her topline.2. Fallowmill Top of the
Class, compact bitch, not over done in any way, when stacked she sank into her
shoulders, so lost that elegant neck that showed when she moved, which she did
with drive. . VB (1) Emem All Het Up, what a fit 10yr old, good conformation all
through, with a super coat. She moved well , obviously happy to be in the ring!
