Class 188 GCB NO ENTRIES |
Thank you to Brian and Carol, my two Stewards, for your
efficient and unobtrusive stewarding. Overall mouths were excellent,
temperaments delightful, ground clearance generally very good and although a
few coats were on the blow, most exhibits were well off for head furnishings
so typical of the breed. BCC & BOB was Daykin's Barratini Angels Eve JW,
this beautiful brindle bitch caught my eye immediately and left a big
impression on me: she was in tip-top condition, the star of the day and is a
real Dachshund in miniature. She has a sweet head and expression, true front
with prominent keel and best of legs and feet, elegant neckline, excellent
ribbing and top-line, adequate ground clearance, beautifully angled
hindquarters, underline is also good and to top it all her coat was spot on
for texture. Movement true and confident. I loved her.
RBCC was Thorn Andrews' Drakesleat Too Gud To Be True,
this is a lovely brindle bitch of style who at 15 months is still maturing.
Attractive head and eye, reachy neck, correctly constructed keel and
forequarters, strong feet, her smooth ribcage extends well back to good
hindquarters which balance with the forequarters and overall she presents a
nicely balanced outline. DCC was Rose's Ch Ridanflight Ricardo, brindle, an
impressive Dachshund who is strong and masculine yet has much quality and
lovely breed type, he has a typical Wire head and furnishings, true front
and keel with best of legs and hard feet, length of neck exactly correct for
balance and like all good ones he has a well-constructed ribcage and
top-line. Underline, hindquarters and coat texture are all as they should be
and he powered round the ring with real Wire personality. RDCC was Jones' Ch
Bimini Starstruck, brindle, another top quality typy Wire who pressed hard
for the top spot and who like the one above is a most worthy champion and a
pleasure to go over. Again a masculine and strongly made hound but with
quality, pleasing head and eye with particularly good furnishings, correct
front assembly and strong feet, super ribcage and hindquarters, top-line and
underline excellent and moved correctly with confidence. BP was Thorn
Andrews' Drakesleat Evan Sent, 8 month brindle litter brother to the winner
of MPD and further forward, a promising puppy who has much confidence for
his age, correct head and furnishings, good front and keel complete with
dimples, smooth ribcage reaching well back, pleasing top-line,
well-angled-hindquarters and true movement.
VD (2,1) 1 Phillips' Ch Curtisey Boogy Woogy JW,
brindle. It was good to start judging with a quality hound! This hound at 8
years was in lovely condition and is an excellent Dachshund and worthy
Champion. Impressive head and furnishings, good length of neck for balance,
soundly made front, best of legs and feet, ribbing & top-line & hindquarters
all correct and movement true and strong.
MPD (5) 1)Thorn Andrews' Drakeleat Ivor Notion, 8 month
dark brindle, not so far on as his litter brother who won Junior and also
promising, soundly constructed all over, lovely head and furnishings, better
reach of neck than his litter brother, good front & feet, top-line &
underline in harmony and movement correct. 2)Hunt's Earthseas Curly Whirly,
chocolate, another likeable puppy who gave a good account of himself for one
so young, typical head and furnishings, soundly constructed all over with a
good ribcage carried well-back, hindquarters are in balance with the
forequarters and movement was correct. Just preferred the length of neck of
the one above. 3 Phillips' Gulliagh Loganberry of Robinswood.
PD (3) 1 Jones' Carlitta Sunrise, masculine puppy who
is well-developed for his young age, attractive true Wire head and
furnishings, well-constructed forequarters and keel, correct top-line and
good ground clearance. Would like more muscular development. 2 G L of
Robinswood, brindle who is still very much a baby compared to the one above,
attractive head and eye, sound front and top-line, just needs time. 3 Mills'
Tythe Douglas at Oniasid.
JD (2) 1 D E Sent. 2)Vossen's Dajean's Happy Sunday,
red, at 13 months this boy is still very much a baby and needs to develop
which hopefully time will sort out.
PGD (3,1) 1 Cassidy's Rosenez Little Rambler, lovely
little brindle with much to like, appealing head & eye & furnishings,
prominent keel and sturdy legs and feet, correctly made forequarters,
top-line good and correct ground clearance. Moved well. Would prefer ribbing
to extend a shade further back. 2 Rigby's Waldmeister George, brindle,
enjoyed his day out and showed well.
LD (4) 1 Tomsett's Dajean Starstruck and 2 Clare's
Lordscairnie Love God, two attractive dogs who are similar in style and
outline, both have real Wire heads and furnishings, both are fairly
well-constructed with good top-lines and well-angulated hindquarters and
good jackets. Both moved well and while I preferred the underline of the
second I preferred the reach of neck of the first. However, both could
easily change places. 3 Flowers & Smith's Vostoc-zapad Viking For Bingobongo.
OD (2) 1 Ch R Ricardo. 2)Ch B Starstruck.
VB (1) 1 Dance's Ch Emem Candy Sunshine, brindle,
lovely quality bitch in super condition for 7 and a worthy Champion that was
a pleasure to judge. Sweetly feminine, she scores for breed type and
presents a lovely balanced outline with a good top-line and underline, sweet
head, lovely shoulders and ribbing and everything finished off with a harsh
jacket and true movement.
MPB (9,2) 1 Morris' Stargang Peggy Sue At Pennyweave,
red, sweet little bitch who shows promise, feminine head and attractive
expression, sound front and keel, good feet, long smooth ribcage and correct
top-line, good ground clearance, coat coming through and moved well. 2
Clare's Drakesleat Helen Back To Mabellene, brindle, another good baby with
much to like, typical head and expression, prominent keel and correct
ribbing and top-line. These two could well change places. 3 Powell's Forbell
Special Performer.
PB (5,1) 1 Weeks' Beldrew Flora At Avon, attractive
brindle who is very much the finished article for her young age, typy head
and furnishings, good front and keel, well developed musculature, top-line
and underline correct and moved correctly. All of a piece. 2 Selley's Ubu
Fascinating Aida To Heleanne, brindle bitch who is slower to mature than the
one above, good Wire head and furnishings, correct top-line and showed well.
Preferred the forequarters of the one above. 3 Mobley's Samlane Fran.
JB (5,2) 1 Cassidy's Rosenez Bella De Crecy, brindle,
sweet bitch who is a real Dachshund in miniature and of lovely breed type,
feminine head complete with furnishings, beautifully constructed all over
with forequarters and hindquarters in balance, in good muscular condition
and moved with correct action and much personality. 2 Tomsett's Dajean's
Happy Sunbeam, red, sweet bitch who is just not as yet as mature as the one
above. Nevertheless she is sound and moved well. 3 Ashcroft's Byabye
Beautitudine With Pulsante.
PGB (8,1) 1 B A Eve JW. 2 Mills' Tythe Black Pearle At
Oniasid, black and tan, quality bitch who was unlucky to meet the one above
today, she is sweetly feminine and of attractive breed type. Lovely head and
eye and furnishings, sound forequarters and hindquarters, good top-line and
underline, ground clearance commendable and moved truly. 3 Grant's
Granhoward Ownly.
LB (9,1) 1 Jones' Bimini Blue Moon JW, 2 Thorn Andrews'
Drakesleat Drop Dead Gorjus, both brindles. It was difficult to separate
these two sweetly feminine bitches who are of attractive breed type. Both
are similar in style and shape and with most of the structural essentials
and balance: top-lines & underlines & ground clearance & jackets are all
correct. The first made more of herself on the move. 3 Daykin's Barratini
Chatters.
OB (6,2) 1 D T G T B True. 2 Dance's Emem Gloria
Sunshine JW Sh.CM, brindle, close up to the one above and could well change
places, another quality Dachshund in miniature, lovely head and eye complete
with furnishings, sound forequarters and prominent keel, best of legs and
feet. Top-line and underline in harmony and movement was excellent. One for
the upper house. 3 Grant's Granhoward Ethel.
