I would like to thank the SKC committee for my first
Championship Certificates in this breed. I had a good selection of dogs and
bitches of good quality, no major faults found, a little bit overweight, and
turned out with a good quality entry overall.
PD 1 Fulton’s Bothlyn Trail Blaze. Overall impression of good
proportions, head and eye, muzzle and strong jaw line, and correct teeth.
Ear length is a bit short. On the stack good shoulder lay with a good
topline, I would prefer a bit more ribbing. I allowed for this as a puppy
and has plenty of growing time. Angulation not overdone on the move was
naughty but given the benefit of the doubt, just did not settle. Excellent
coat.
JD 1 Kirkwood’s Beetlejuice Vitoraz At Heydon. A good
attitude in the ring, head and eye correct, ear length covered eye,
proportions correct, reach of neck and lay of shoulder angle allowing a good
reach on the move, front not overdone allowing clearance, length of ribbing
and loin correct giving a good strong rounded backend on the move presented
a well put together dog. Res DCC.
LD 1 Feetham’s Kimbleholme Cazino. A good striking hound head
with almond shape eye, strong jaw with correct bite, length of muzzle
correct, good dark pigmentation, reach of neck and lay of shoulder and
correct ground clearance. Correct length in the proportion of body with nice
straight hocks. On the move, topline correct, showing pads throughout the
movement, could have been better on concentration, has a good future. DCC. 2
Mills-Jones’ Bothlyn Mr Chip To Sharplaw. Another nice dog spoiled by being
overweight made him look overloaded at the shoulder and impede movement, a
shorter coupled dog of correct proportion, well ribbed with good angulation
handler needs to be more assertive in the ring so the dog can show himself
in the ring. Excellent coat and well turned out. Keep getting out there.
OD 1 Kirkwood-Emery’s Ch Heldon Laird Loki JW. An overall
good impression head and eye occuplt good shape, strong jawline, with a good
reach of neck, chest and forefront in proportion, correct ribbing and loin
good topline, back end filling hands on the stack. Moved with purpose around
the ring, a little close at times. Well presented. 2 Russell’s Russteck
Romeo. A good hound expression, eye slightly rounded, correct ear length,
good pigmentation, proportion to length and height correct, on the move he
was moving well until something took his mind off the game, which unsettled
him and his movement, did not correct himself, different type to the first.
VD 1 Feetham’s Kimberholme Jackpot. Overall a compact dog
with correct proportions. Head good shape and length, prefer a slightly more
almond shape eye. Good ground clearance of forechest. Shoulder placement
correct with a good reach of neck. Ribbing and loin correct length with
angulation not overdone. Forward-moving and kept a topline. BVH Group 4. 2
Ritchie’s Bothlyn Mr Chip To Sharplaw. See critique in limit.
PB 1 Kirkwood-Emery’s Helydon Radiant Rivva. Well presented
bitch with a good hound head and eye shape, with a strong jaw line, correct
bite with feminine head, correct shoulder placement, good ground clearance,
nice forechest developing, topline correct and good ribbing and loin. On the
move held a topline with a good forward movement, a little unsettled at
times, good future ahead. 2 Kirkwood’s Helydon Quickstep Queeni. Good
proportions throughout, head and eye and correct mouth, a good forechest and
lay of shoulder on the stack, good topline. Would prefer a bit more ribbing,
time to develop. A correct coat. Is not as flowing on the move as first on
the day.
JB 1 Sexton’s Molloney Noodle Not A Doodle. Overall good
shape and proportions, well presented. Good length of muzzle, head and eye
correct, with a strong jaw and correct bite, ground clearance of forechest,
lay of shoulder, nice tight elbows. On the move straight and forward going,
kept a topline. Reserve CC. 2 Russell’s Eyez The One Russteck. Good head and
eye shape, correct forechest, good lay of shoulder, tight elbows. Ribbing I
would prefer a bit more. On the move kept a topline and moved forward. Just
preferred the overall outline of the first.
PGB 1 Russell’s Sheez Got It Russteck. Overall a well
presented bitch with a good coat. Correct head and eye shape, strong jaw
line, and correct bite. Good shoulder lay of placement. Ribbing and loin
correct with nice straight hocks. On the move forward going with a good
topline. 2 Stephenson’s Wistex Taking It Easy. A different type to first. A
good strong head, eye and ear correct, lay of shoulder and forechest good.
Prefer slightly more ribbing to loin, angulation correct for height with
excellent coat. On the move kept a topline and moved forward with a good
temperament.
LB 1 Kirkwood-Emery’s Heldon Niffty Nairn. Overall outline
correct feminine head with a correct mouth, good reach of neck, enough
clearance of forechest lay of shoulder correct. Overall moved forward with
purpose and confidence keeping a topline, nicely handled well turned out. 2
Blackburn’s Stargang Sapphire And Steel. A really impressive dapple evenly
and clearly marked. A really nice bitch with bone. Good feminine head, eyes
with a good almond shape and ear correct, a good reach of neck and lay of
shoulder and good ground clearance. Ribbing, and loin correct proportions.
On the move had drive and presence but gave the handler a hard time stacking
on the floor, so frustrating for handler.
OB 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Witches Shadow. Good strong bitch
of proportions overall excellent head dark pigmentation with good length of
muzzle correct bite. Almond shaped eyes with a good length of ears. Reach of
the neck with a good strong forechest, with ground clearance. Ribbing and
loin correct angulation and strong back end. On the move showed drive and
loved every minute of her performance Temperament obliging at all times and
fit. BOB, CC. 2 Stephenson’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex. A well
presented bitch with a good head and eyes correct bite and strong jaw line.
Forechest good ground clearance correct lay of shoulder, not quite enough
reach of the neck as I would like. On the move kept a topline and showed
herself well in good condition.
VB 1 Stephenson’s Bothlyn Indigo Blue At Wistex. A 10 year
old bitch in good condition with correct head and eyes, dark pigmentation, a
little stuffy on reach of neck, forechest and lay of the shoulder in the
correct position, good length of ribbing and loin. On the move kept her
topline. Nothing seemed too much.
Sp Beg B 1 Hill’s Helydon Nimble Neve. Correct harsh coat, a
compact bitch, good head, almond eye with good pigmentation. A little
overweight, makes her neck look stuffy and her shoulder overloaded. Ribbing
and loin, correct angulation. Moved better in this class, more
forward-moving and looked better.
GCB 1 Stephenson’s Bothlyn Indigo Blue At Wistex. Critique
written for veteran bitch.
