I would like to thank the secretary and the committee of the Driffield Championship Dog Show Society for the opportunity to judge at their show in 2022. Thanks also to my splendid stewards Sue and Martin, without whose courtesy, clear announcements and conscientious attention to detail, I feel sure all would have descended into chaos! Finally, many thanks to all the exhibitors for coming along and allowing me the privilege of going over their dogs.
JD.(2) 1. Kirkwood’s Beetlejuice Vitoraz At Helydon (Czech Imp). Striking 17 month old red dog of compact and correctly proportioned build. Well muscled with good balanced angulation front and rear. He moved freely and maintained his level topline on the move as well as standing. BD.
2. Livingston’s Lordscairnie Love Destiny at Hopewood. Well presented 16 month old dog with correct head and eye, steady topline both standing and on the move. Perhaps a little close behind compared to 1. RBD.
SBD. (2) 1. Livingston’s Lordscairnie Love Destiny At Hopewood. 2. Corner’s Carcorn Fabulous Frank. Well built 19 month old with good ground clearance and correct proportions. Strong front set well back under the ribcage and good rear drive. Not very settled today.
PB. (1) 1. Stephenson’s Bothlyn Sweet Missy At Wistex. Elegant, well handled puppy bitch of nine months, still very much a baby, she trotted around the ring without a care in the world. Correct head and neck flowing into withers and strong topline, nice proportions and balanced angulation. Tailset perhaps a little high but might settle with maturity, certainly one to watch! BP.
SBB. (2, 1) 1. Whitehouse’s Rioban Trinket. Smart nineteen month old Black and Tan bitch. Correct head and eye, well proportioned with reasonable angulation front and rear. A little unsure of herself today.
PGB. (2, 1) 1. Stephenson’s Wistex Taking It Easy. Sixteen months, well presented she moved out nicely, covering the ground well, parallel front and rear. Good front and excellent rear construction. RBB.
OB. (5, 1) 1. Kirkwood-Emery’s Helydon Nifty Nairn JW. Super little dog who, at three years and nine months is surely at the top of her form. Excellent structure and muscle condition, a self-confident, even gait and a happy demeanor. A pleasure to go over. BOB. 2. Whitehouse’s Ir. Ch. Baltiskiy Talisman Tcesaria Evora. Another attractive, well presented dog in excellent condition. Correctly proportioned with good ground clearance, good length of neck flowing smoothly into her withers and strong topline. Not quite the confidence of 1.
