I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge Miniature Wire-haired Dachshunds at such a wonderful show. Such a lovely showground where we were blessed with the weather. Being one of the earlier outdoor shows in the year it was apparent that many of the exhibits were terribly excited by walking on grass making it difficult to assess movement in some cases, however many took it in their stride. This is my second time giving CC’s in this variety, I was thrilled with my principles winners, unfortunately good length of pro sternum and well filled out fronts were few and far between, something that is achievable in this variety as there are exhibits which excel in this area. It was lovely to see the good sportsmanship in this breed lots of support from the side of the ring. Puppy Dog (2,1) 1st: JONES Bimini Song Sung Blue, really eye catching puppy of 8 months, stunning on the stack, smart conical head, enough neck, front and shoulder assembly to be admired, strong level topline leading into well angulated quarters. Super sound coming and going, I’m sure he has a bright future. BPIB, RCC. Junior Dog (1) 1st: COROMINAS Almarxils Diego for Ruichago, Red boy who’s not only a beautiful example on the breed but also incredibly charismatic meaning you can’t take your eyes off him. The most stunning houndy head and expression with faultless dentition, correct ear set. Slightly rangier in type but still excels in bone and substance, correct front and shoulder angles perfectly mirrored on the rear. On the move this well-muscled boy powers around the ring covering the ground with ease. Acting the clown a little on the grass in his class but by the time he had settled in the challenge his presence was captivating. CC, BOB. Pleased to hear this was his third, a worthy Champion! Graduate Dog - NO ENTRIES Post Graduate Dog (2,2) 1st: Absent Limit Dog (5,2) 1st: GILKES & STORTON Dereheath Shaken Not Stired At Birichino, smart boy with correct head proportions, good length of neck, slightly forward in shoulder, sufficient length and spring of rib, his hind quarters being his biggest asset allowing him to really drive on the move. 2nd: KIRKWOOD Beetlejuice Vitoraz at Helydon (Imp Cze) fabulous bone and feet on this boy, super head with good dentition, preferred the rear angulation on underline of class winner. 3rd: COVENEY Emem Django Open Dog (1) 1st: THORN-ANDREWS Ch Drakesleat Gud to Go, super smart boy, more cobby in type, good head proportions plenty of fore-chest and well filled out front, nice short loin, and sound rear. Veteran Dog (1) 1st: BRUTY Jantar Red Horses (Imp Pol), this boy really enjoyed his day, the most stunning temperament his tail did not stop wagging. A very balanced boy good length and spring of rib, strong topline which he held well on the move. BVIB Puppy Bitch (8,1) 1st: SIEMINSKI Dajean Surely a Vision, tidy pup, nicely balanced with sufficient ground clearance, covered the ground with ease, this girl had a fab length of pro sternum with a well filled out front which many lack. 2nd: JONES Bimini Indigo Blue another quality exhibit from this kennel, a clean outline which she holds on the move, supported by good length and spring of rib, class winner had a little more front. 3rd: ROSE Barratini Song and Dance with Rosencrantz Junior Bitch (5,2) 1st: CROSSMAN & KENNEDY Moonshe May Bee, ultra feminine black and tan bitch with such a classic outline, lovely angles fore and aft which she uses well on the move to drive around the ring.
