Thank you to the exhibitors for giving me a super entry (both quantitively and qualitatively), it was much appreciated and made for some close decisions. The two Open classes, in particular, provided a wealth of quality. The sportsmanship from fellow exhibitors was a pleasure to witness and provided for a super atmosphere throughout.
Veteran Dog (3):
1. Mills-Jones’ Ch Carlita Sunrise, thought this lovely dog, full of type stood out here, liked his head, eye and overall outline, well made fore and aft, moderately long and kept his outline and correct topline on the move where he was totally sound, good coat and well presented, BV;
2. Bruty’s Jantar Red Horses, 9 years and shown in good condition with good muscle, has a few teeth missing but bite is good, scored in hindquarters and hind movement over 3;
3. Phillips’ Gulliagh Loganberry of Robinswood
Minor Puppy Dog (5):
1. Stephenson’s Wistex Perfect Storm, thought this one scored in overall outline on the stack, pleasing head shape with good eye colour, good bone and feet, sound mover, coat a little soft at this stage, moved soundly keeping the static outline quite well;
2. Hunt’s Earthsea’s Santa Paws, pleasing head and coat, good topline maintained on the move, sound behind, just needs to settle;
3. Hill’s Weipowa Hocus Pocus
Puppy Dog (4):
1. Peek’s Milkwood’s May Bud, very promising puppy of lovely type whose overall picture appealed as being correct, possesses balance and overall shape, correct head with almond shaped eyes off good colour, excellent topline held on the move, hindquarters are broad and strong and he is sound on the move in all directions, good coat, has lots of promise, pleased to award him BP, will follow his future;
2. Hayward’s Foxearth Frank Zappa, pleasing overall type, very nice head shape, excellent feet with firm pads, good topline and hindquarters, moved soundly, just a little too tucked up in underline;
3. Hill’s W Hocus Pocus
Junior Dog (7):
1. Rose’s Ridanflight Gilcorus Gino, this 14 months red appealed very much, very nice shape overall which takes the eye immediately and is maintained on the go-around, pleasing head with correct eye, coat good and well presented, moderately long body with good topline, broad, strong well angulated hindquarters, totally sound on the move where he goes on a free and flowing stride and is true fore and aft, well balanced overall and has a look of quality, he was very much in my mind in the challenge and is surely title-bound, one whose progress I will watch;
2. Thorn-Andrews’ Griffingate St George for Drakesleat, this youngster is balanced overall, possesses a very good coat, overall outline good, excellent feet, really good hindquarters, sound and true mover, shown in super, well-muscled condition;
3. Kirkwood-Emery’s Helydon Xtra Special
Post Graduate Dog (5):
1. Mullen’s Rozelle Fools Gold, thought this red brindle was the best for overall shape, liked his head and dark eye, correct topline standing and on the move, well made hindquarters, good legs and feet, moved soundly;
2. Price’s Collidach Thomas Tank, pleasing overall type with appealing head, good feet, coat and topline, not quite so positive behind;
3. Phillips’ Birichino Barley of Robinswood
Limit Dog (4):
1. Mills-Jones’ Bimini Moonrise at Carlita, liked the overall shape and outline of this one, correct shape head and good eye, well made fore and hindquarters, well ribbed, good topline maintained on the move, sound free mover, just needs to gain more confidence;
2. Sieminski’s Dallandor Burdock, pleasing outline with good head, well ribbed and sound free mover, just a little heavier all through compared to 1;
3. Fulton’s Bothlyn Trail Blaze
Open Dog (10): this was a super class with quality right down the line, a pleasure to judge
1. Corominas’ Ch Almarxils Diego for Ruichango (Imp Esp), this red of just over 2 years impressed me by being so full of type, the right size with balance and quality, so well made all through with very good forequarters, chest of correct depth, correct ground clearance, very good topline and extremely well made hindquarters, everything flows about him and this is totally evident on the move where he goes with freedom, style and has a long stride with drive from behind, nothing exaggerated and a delightful outlook and temperament, pleasure to award him the CC and pushed for BOB;
2. Beach and Partridge’s Ch Cardaxians Bambam Baby, another most worthy title holder, a little stronger all through but full off quality and so well made, really liked his head shape and correct eye, well made in fore and hindquarters which was apparent when he moved, well ribbed body with good topline kept on the move, very good coat and presented and handled to advantage, one to be proud of;
3. Rose’s Ridanflight Remo, sire of 2
Veteran Bitch (1):
1. Stephenson’s Molloney Winnie Tergames at Wistex, what a great temperament this girl of 7 years has, pleasing topline, covers the ground well and drives from good hindquarters;
Minor Puppy Bitch (0):
Puppy Bitch (2):
1. Peek’s Milkwood’s May Ze, litter sister to the BP, 22 months red, feminine all through with pleasing head and eye, good topline and well made hindquarters, moved soundly;
Junior Bitch (6):
1. Dance’s Emem Joyful Sunshine, what a delightful temperament this girl has, tail never stops wagging and she is so eager on the move, a pleasure to see, well-named as she does, indeed, bring sunshine, appealing head with good eye colour, well made front and hindquarters, well ribbed body with correct topline maintained on the move, sound and true on the move with free flowing stride, never gives up, one for the future;
2. O’Connell’s Almarxils Flamenco Dancer at Llennocor, this red of 13 months really appealed and is so correct in many ways, feminine, beautiful and well made all through as well as having nothing to excess, pleasing head, so well made in front and hindquarters, moderately long body, well ribbed up and correct underline, has the free, flowing gait and is sound fore and aft, just needs to gain a bit of confidence which I am sure will come;
3. Hayward’s Foxearth Time Fly’s
Post Graduate Bitch (9):
1. Sieminski’s Dajean Surely A Vision, pleasing overall type and balance, scored in outline kept in side profile and free flowing movement, would just prefer a little more bone and better feet;
2. Rose’s Barratini Song and Dance with Rosencrantz, pleasing head shape and good eye, good topline kept on the move, would just prefer a better underline;
3. Hutchings’ Collidach Delta Storm
Limit Bitch (10):
1. Blackburn’s Stargang Aurora, this wild boar dapple really appealed, full of breed type, lovely shape and overall construction and impresses so much on the move especially in profile where her gait is so free and flowing, good head and eye, well made front, well ribbed, super topline, good jacket, really pushed hard in the challenge and one that is destined for the upper house for sure;
2. Kilroy’s Rozelle Rosalie at Janacop, red/brindle, another very nice, typy quality bitch who was a lovely shape, liked her construction all through with good front and hindquarters, correct head and such sound movement, pushed hard;
3. Dance’s Emem Hazel Sunshine
Open Bitch (12): beautiful class with such depth of quality, pleasure to judge
1. Kirkwood-Emery’s Ch Helydon Tartan Talula, loved this bitch for breed type and overall shape, took my eye immediately and when I put my hands on her, it confirmed how well made she was with good construction in forequarters and hindquarters, well ribbed up, sufficient ground clearance, super feet, allowing her to move with such freedom, ease and soundness, added to this she has a good head, the correct tight harsh jacket and her outgoing personality shines through, keeps her totally correct outline both standing and on the move where it was a pleasure to see her go, just loved her joie de vivre, CC and BOB;
2. Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat Hear No Evil, very much the type that one associated with this top kennel for so many years, totally unexaggerated but totally correct for type, size and overall outline, she is completely balanced overall with nothing to excess, liked her head and eye shape, well-made front with very good feet, pleasing coat, moderately long, well ribbed body with good topline which is kept on the move, well made hindquarters with good upper and lower thighs, moved soundly and truly fore and aft and kept her outline in profile, pushed hard for top honours, so pleased to see her gain her title a few days later, RCC;
3. Blackburn’s Stargang Fanfare
