MINIATURE WIRES - Good to revisit the Scottish club & to experience the new venue where the show was held in partnership with HAS. Difficult to generalise on an entry this size but please cherish the cheerful character the variety should have, & beware overly tight canine teeth.

V (2) 1 Mills-Jones’ Ch Carlita Sunrise, what a handsome chap to start with, in superb form & condition at 7 years, very much a male, super head & expression with great strength of muzzle, well boned, shoulders well placed with correct front angles, plenty of forechest, well ribbed back, harsh coat, excellent topline retained on the move, went soundly with style. Good value for the RCC; 2 Stephenson’s Molloney Winnie Tergames at Wistex, quality 7 years female of appealing overall balance, plenty of substance, well ribbed, strong bone, correct feet, feminine expression. Winner scored in coat texture & smoother front action. PD (1) Withdrawn, not too happy on the table today. JD (3) 1 Mills-Jones’ Bimini Moonrise at Carlita, classy youngster of excellent type & balance, masculine head carried well, reachy neck into good topline, OK bone, reasonable forechest, very good ribbing, firm well angulated hindquarters, moved true & steadily, could just have a shade more reach in front; 2 Sieminski’s Dallandor Burdock, solid typical boy with strong bone & lots of substance, shapely body & topline, could have a shade more neck & front angulation. Well made hindquarters, moved true but if not so freely as winner; 3 Whitehouse’s Gralinn Back In Your Arms. PGD (2) 1 D Burdock; 2 Kay’s Kaytian The Suncaller, neatly made smaller red without quite the coat or substance of 1, nor so masculine in head. Excellent outline, good feet, lengthy ribbing, upper arm slightly steep, looked well going round retaining his topline but a shade narrow coming & going. LD (1) 1 Fulton’s Bothlyn Trail Blaze, good overall balance, masculine head, powerful muzzle, reachy neck, a shade upright in shoulder but good upper arm, correct coat, enough substance, well angulated hindquarters, could have a shade more reach in front, topline OK standing but not quite so firm on the move. OD (3) 1 Corominas’ Ch Almarxils Diego for Ruichango, fell for this delightful red, lovely size but still with plenty of substance & the right amount of bone, beautiful smooth outline moving & standing, well ribbed back, super topline & underline, neat powerful hindquarters, good matching angulation both ends, loved his expression, lovely to see a red with such super coat texture, to top it off has plenty of character & looked as if he meant business on the move, a pleasure to judge. CC & BOB; 2 Kirkwood’s Beetle Juice Vitoraz at Helydon, quality red with plenty of substance & bone, male head, OK neck, good topline & ribbing, well muscled hindquarters, moved true, winner scored on coat texture & front angles; 3 D Burdock. Beginners (3) 1 D Burdock; 2 Rose’s Merryline Martha with Rosencrantz, well balanced puppy of good general type, feminine head with strong muzzle, reasonable coat texture, excellent ribbing, well angulated hindquarters, would prefer better shoulder placement, didn’t keep her topline on the move today, time should help sort this out; 3 Goodbrand’s Bargemon Soft As Starlight for Braesnobel.

PB (3) 1 O’Connell’s Almarxils Flamenco Dancer at Llennocor, charming red, very much a feminine version of the BOB, well made, neat & ‘together’, feminine head, excellent shoulder & upper arm assembly, good forechest & ribbing, matching hindquarters with low hocks & correct angles, harsh coat which fits her well. Moved true & steadily keeping her topline, but very much at a pace of her own choosing. With a bit more enthusiasm might have featured in the main awards, but well deserved BP & perked up later to take RBPIS; 2 Kirkwood-Emery’s Helydon Xeptional Xaya, another very classy pup of a slightly leggier style, quality all through, excels in reach of neck, well angulated hindquarters, strong bone, moved smartly & soundly, OK coat. Just preferred winner’s front construction but this one is very promising too; 3 M Martha with R. JB (1) 1 B Soft As Starlight for B, smaller youngster of an attractive general type, needs practice on the table, feminine head, strong jaws, OK coat, well ribbed back, well made hindquarters, a shade upright in front, topline OK standing but could be firmer when she goes round. PGB (4) 1 Mills-Jones’ Carlita Jellie Baby, lovely to go over with flowing lines & a good blend of substance & elegance, super head & expression, reachy neck into clean well laid shoulders, firm topline, ribbed well back, true front with correct bone for her size, OK forechest, powerful hindquarters. Coat harsher than it looks at first glance but could perhaps be a bit closer fitting. Has plenty of personality & in the challenge outmoved the rest to take the CC; 2 Whitrehouse’s Rioban Trinket, quality b/t of good general type, neat & unexaggerated, in good coat, shapely body, well made hindquarters, not quite front angulation of winner who had a shade more drive going round; 3 Sieminski’s Dajean Surely A Vision. LB (2) 1 Kirkwood’s Helydon Vexy Vixen, so pretty & feminine, attractive outline, good neck & topline, OK ribbing, enough bone, stood true in front, moved soundly & kept her shape on the move, angles good behind, could have a shade more slope of shoulder, not quite in her best coat but liked her a lot; 2 Clarke & Fulton’s Jolanda Uptown Girl at Bothlyn, different type, houndy with a shade a more length & scope, super head & expression, good coat, OK ribbing, a shade long in loin & rear pastern, moved with enthusiasm but could be a shade firmer in front. OB (5) Interesting class of different styles. 1 Patton’s Ir Ch Vandor-Vadasz Banya, amazed to discover she is 9 years old, in tremendous form & enjoying the ring, feminine head, true front well moulded round the forechest, excellent topline, well ribbed back, plenty of substance for her size, true steady mover. In the challenge I appreciated her beautifully presented tight fitting harsh coat, just felt the winner had a shade more reach in front. RCC, hope she completes her UK title; 2 Stephenson’s Wistex Taking It Easy, stylish girl of a very houndy type, good head & expression, super neck, covers plenty of ground, enough bone, a shade longer in rear pastern. Looked the part standing, moved with style & enthusiasm but didn’t hold her topline as well as 1; 3 Kirkwood-Emery’s Ch Helydon Tartan Talula.
