AV DACHSUND VETERAN STANDARD (5,3) 1 Logetta John Collins, Standard Longhaired shown in good condition and fit for 10 years old. Pleasing head with good eye, well constructed and balanced body with good outline standing and on the move. 2 Ch/Ir.Ch. Ex Sentia I'm Bond James Bond, another well made dog showing and engoyinmg his day out, balanced outline sound mover just not quite condition of 1. VETERAN MINI (7,(3) 1 Ch. Kathington Coeur De Lion, Mini Smooth who at 10 years showed like a puppy. Pleasing head refined with good eye and expression, well constructed front assembly in a deep balanced body with good quarters. Moved soundly covering the ground with style. BV. 2 Ch. Barratini Jeeves At Lokmadi JW, another well made dog in lovely condition for age, balanced outline and moving soundly. 3 Eldmour Electra. BIS: Hunt's Carpaccio Midnight Lace, Mini Smooth of good overall construction and balance showing with style and attitude covering the ground soundly. Res BIS Dare's Darsoms Zamson, Standard Long, another well made dog shown in excellent coat and condition presenting a balanced outline and moving soundly. BPIS: Adam's Wyldetarn Shoot From The Hip, Standard Wire, mature puppy shown in excellent coat and condition, presented a balanced outline and moving soundly with style. Res BPIS, Robert's Darsoms Zardonnay Swanford, Standard Long, only 7 months but of good overall type and construction from a pretty head to strong quarters and moving soundly holding a good outline. The Dachshund Club Open Show 24.02.2018
I would like to thank The Dachshund Club for inviting me to judge at their Open show and all the exhibitors for their entry. All dogs were well turned out and in good condition. I expect the puppies to be well covered but many older dogs were carrying excess weight and lacked muscle tone. I was pleased to see my BOB go RBIS as well as BPIB being awarded RBPIS.
Dachshund Longs
Minor Puppy (1,0): Mr D Roberts’s Darsoms Zardonnay Swansford; 8mth old well covered promising red puppy, lovely feminine head and gentle expression. Good length of neck. Well balanced and of correct ground clearance. Good shoulders and keel. Good length of ribbing and short loin. Carried herself very proudly around the ring for one so young. Beautifully handled. BPIB & RBPIS
Junior (1,1): 1st Mrs & Mrs Bushell’s Ranglewoods Harvest Hops: 28mth old b/t dog. Correct bite, would prefer less heavier head. Good front angulation, length of ribbing and keel. Slight tucked under behind loosing drive on the movement.Beautiful coat. Unfortunately he was unsettled today.
Post Graduate (4,2): 1st Mrs S Rodriques’s Darsoms Zydexta; Handsome 2 year old shaded red dog. Lovely masculine head. Balanced and with correct ground clearance. Good front with correct shoulder placing. Good length of ribbing. Nice short loin. Moved strongly, with good drive from well-muscled behind. Coat in beautiful condition . 2nd Mr & Mrs Duchesne’s Darsoms Zyjosh of Scandell; 2 year old red dog. Good masculine head, long neck flowing to good shoulders and front assembly. I would prefer more length in ribbing and shorter loin. Would come to his own if slightly lighter.
Open Dog (3,2): 1st Mrs C Dare’s Darsoms Zamson: 3 year old red dog. Caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Stunning head, very well balanced with correct ground clearance. Good shoulders with not too much prosternum. Good length of ribbing and keel. Correct hind angulation. Held a superb top line on the move, driving powerfully from well-muscled behind. Elegant outline, beautiful coat and handled superbly BOB & RBIS 2nd Mr & Mrs Negus’s Tarramist Iron Man; 3 year old shaded red dog. Beautiful head, nice long neck flowing down to good shoulders. Good length of ribbing, Good hind angulation, just carrying too much weight which affected his drive and topline. Slightly narrow going away. Beautifully handled.
Open Bitch (2,1): Mrs C Dare’s Darsoms Zeunice; 3 year old red bitch. Nice feminine head and expression. Well laid shoulder. Nice length of ribbing. Well balanced and of correct proportions. Would prefer more angulation in the back. Held an excellent topline on the move. BOS. 2nd Mr & Mrs Negus’s Tarramist Krug Rose; 5 year old bitch of correct proportions, lovely feminine head, long neck. Slightly upright shoulders, good prosternum, length of ribbing and keel. Short loin and nice hind angulation. Did not drive as well as 1st. Would also benefit from losing few pounds.

Thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge at this well run and welcoming show. Also thank you to my very efficient steward and to the exhibitors. *MP* (3,2) 1 Whitfield-Roberts' Run Dandydayo I Am Moana. A really sweet baby of 7 and a half months. Red bitch with a sweet head into a good length of neck and correct shoulders and upperarm. Nice hind angles, moved well for one so young. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Double Dig. 9 month old cream dog, really masculine head into nice length of neck and correct shoulder and ribs. Good rear angulation. *PD* (2) 1 Pool's Findowrie Mr Bumble. 11 months old red dog, masculine head and correct shoulder and upperarm. Good length of rib, nice hind angles. I would like a little less length of hock. Lovely feet. Needs to relax more on the move. BP. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Double Dig. *PB* (3,2) 1 Latham-Jackson's Criscan Pound Foolish at Urismay. 11 month b/t bitch. Lovely feminine head with a dark eye,. Good length of neck, correct shoulder and upperarm. Good length of rib into good hind angles, topline not her best feature. BOS. 2 Brooks' Hanishan Leto for Lyndarlea. Lovely young red bitch, everything in the right place, but she would not settle. *J* (3,2) 1 Lathan-Jackson's Dolyharps Purcell of Urishay. 13 month old black and tan, a handsome male with good shoulders, ribs and hindquarters. Sound mover, keeps his topline on the move. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Santa Amelia. 14 month old cream bitch, very strong in head, good length of neck and correct shoulders. A little long in loin, moved well. ?*N* (2) 1 Henson's Dolyharp Salad Days at Tollyburrow. 19 month old red bitch, sweet head and a good length of neck. Good keel, shoulders and ribs. Nice hindquarters, moved ok, needs a little ringcraft. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Santa Amelia. *PG* (5,4) 1 Brooks' Obdax Lynns Badger JW. Lovely 3 year old silver dapple dog, really well balanced boy, everything correct. Masculine head and a good length of neck and well placed shoulders. Nice ribs, good hind angles. Moved soundly and with drive, kept his topline at all times. BOB. 2 Pool's Findowrie Mr Bumble. Red boy, really well presented. Same remarks as for the winner. I just preferred the movement of 1. 3 McCarthy's Nagshall Dannymac. *OD* (5,1) 1 Brook's Ch Lyndarlea Just Andy JW. 20 month old glamourous and masculine young man. Good head, eye and pigment. Correct shoulders, ribs and good hindquarters. Very profuse coat which detracts from his construction. Moves really well, keeping his topline at all times, just a little low to the ground for me. 2 Whitfield-Roberts' Dandydayo Rhythm of the Nite. Young b/t masculine male, correct in every way. Sound, moved well, just needs more confidence. 3 Green's Neertanauf Jack Jones. *OB* (4,2) 1 Brook's Lyndarlea Vienna. Glamorous rich red 19 month old girl, moved soundly and with confidence, with a happy tail. Wasn't settled in the challenge. 2 Oxley's Pearl Our Pride and Joy at Dinkidax. Really well put together cream bitch. Feminine head, good pigment and correct shoulder. Nice hindquarters, moved soundly - would like a little more substance

MP* (2/2) 1 Hunt's Lauralee Huckleberry Fin at Carpaccio. 8mth Red dog. Very masculine with excellent front and rear angulation, as I would expect from this line. He drove out with clear pads and straight action while maintaining a level top line. It will be interesting to see how he develops as I would suggest a bright future. BP. 2 Armstong's Lauralee Laugh Out Loud. 8mth Red bitch. Litter sister. Very nervous so not able to go over her and assess properly. Everything looked in the right place but not really relaxed enough to show herself off.*PD* (2/1) 1 Chauhan's Wanderhund Viva Las Vegas. 9mth B/tan dog. Another super stamp of masculine dog, with good angles front and rear. Showed a level top line and straight action but just lacked the really drive of the Minor puppy winner. I would suggest that he also has a bright future if he can develop the correct drive through maturity.*PB* (3/2) 1 Hunt's Carpaccio Silent Siren. 9mth Choc bitch. Sweet feminine head on an elegant neck. Good front and rear angles and level top line while moving. For me, just a touch too deep in the forechest. 2 Armstong's Lauralee Laugh Out Loud. 8mth Red bitch. See above. *N* (2/2) 1 Hunt's Lauralee Huckleberry Fin at Carpaccio. 8mth Red dog. See above. 2 Hinwood's Longmel Special Truffle. 14 mth red bitch. Pretty head and good reach of neck. For me, slightly too upright in the front angulation and long in the lower limb. She drove out well and maintained a level top line. *PG *(8/5)1 Armstrong's Lauralee To the Manor Born. 18mth red bitch. A classic from this kennel with everything in the right place. Super level top line on the move with a straight action as she moved away and back. Close between her and Open bitch winner for Best Opposite Sex. 2 Hughes' Matzell Matuma at Ivcar. 23mth red dog. Very masculine dog but not tight enough for me and could drive more from rear. He maintained a level top line and showed a straight action coming and going. *OD* (6/4) 1 Kerry's Kireton Beau Diddley. 2 1/2yr B/tan dog. Have admired this young man from a distance and was not disappointed when I put my hands on him. He is masculine from his classic head through great angulation both front and rear to the excellent rear drive he showed as he moved away and back. At all times, he had a level top line. Pleased to hear he is attracting top placings on a regular basis so I hope it is not long before he gains his title. He is a credit to the breed. BOB 2 Chauhan & Ceransi's G Ch Brownwood's Best Gift V Diagram. 3yr B/tan dog. Although a soundly constructed dog with good front and rear construction, he was a little heavier than I was looking for. However, he moved correctly, maintaining that all important top line at all times.*OB* (6/4) 1 Armstrong's Lauralee Girl Crush. 2yrs Red bitch. Another quality bitch from this kennel. It has to be the mark of a good kennel that they produce consistent quality in their dogs. On looking at my results, I see that she is related to my Best Puppy winner as well as the Post Grad winner. As for her, great front and rear angles, lovely top line and sound drive on the move. BOS. 2 Burke & Manston's Bonavoir Testa Rossa. 6yrs Red bitch. Still has the quality at this age. Sound construction and correct movement. Another credit to the breed. *Paul Hayes

Kerry's Kireton Hebe. 6 month b/t bitch. This promising puppy was nicely balanced. Well sprung ribbing of adequate length. Forechest developing nicely. Neat feet. Moved out well keeping a level topline. 2. Thompson's Oraysha Young Maverick. 6 month dog. Similar comments as 1st. Preferred the better length of neck of winner. 3. Markiewicz's Markidachs Saffrons Dream. *PD* (4) 1. Thomson's Oraysha Young Maverick. 2. Shutt's Melriding Captain Cook Of Donnadoon. 9 month old brindle. Balanced outline with good reach of neck. Lovely head and eye. Good forechest. A little unsettled on the move today. 3. Hunt's Pelirroja Talking Italian At Carpaccio. *PB* (10, 3 Abs) 1. Dunhill's Shantallah Shady Lady At Gellijam. 9 month very confident puppy. Pleasing outline. Well off for bone. Good all round angulation. Tight elbows. Good length of neck. Steady mover keeping a level topline at all times. BP. 2. Protheroe's Picollo Teckel Never Say Never At Royalmaple. 9 months. Smart b/t with lots to like. Good front and ribbing. Moved out well. Expertly handled, as were all the dogs shown today from this kennel. 3. Carey's Debbiejay Ooh La La. *JD/B* (9, 4 Abs) 1. Herrington's Kathington Just By Chance. Red bitch just out of puppy. Good front assembly. Well ribbed. Good head and eye. Well angulated front and rear. Smart mover. 2. Worswick's Dolyharp Sonata. Compact 17 month red bitch. BOS. Smart red with good head and eye. Adequate front assembly. Positive on the move. Firm quarters. Well handled. BOS. 2. Fossett's Lokmadi A Boy Named Sue. Masculine b/t with lovely head and eye. Good reach of neck. Well angulated front and rear. Level topline maintained on the move. 3. Protheroe's Ch Royalmaple Anky Panky. *OB* (10, 5 Abs) 1. Hunt's Carpaccio Midnight Lace. A well balanced young lady with pleasing outline. Prominent forechest with good depth of keel. Well sprung ribs of good length. Tight elbows. Good angulation fore and aft. Moved with drive. Expertly handled to get the best out of her. BOB. Delighted to see her go on to win BIS. 2. Shutt's Donnadoon Dream Dust. Feminine brindle that was well off for bone. Good spring and length of ribbing. Prominent forechest. Well angulated fore and aft. Handler could have made more of her on the move today. 3. Burke & Manston's Radclyffe Acanthus.
