Dachshund PD (1) Paget and Carroll's Metadale Lark Ascending at Marvale. A real
little prospect. Beautifully balanced throughout. Excellent head with good dark
eye. Neat front assembly which fitted well into crook, neck flowed into well
laid shoulder. Good ribbing, nicely bodied and with good angulation behind.
Moved well when settled and covered the ground with drive. Neat feet. Just a
touch proud of his tail but only his second time out so this will settle as he
gains experience. BOB, BP. Will follow this one with interest. PB (2,1) Kent's
Lokmadi Catherine Wheel. Very pretty girl. Correct head, dark eye, nicely laid
shoulders, tidy front and good feet. Topline level when standing but tended to
lose it slightly on the move however as she matures this should improve. Well
angulated behind move,d steadily and with ease.RBPIB. JD/B (2) 1 Starkey's
Carpaccio Black Obsidian at Hamoura. Smart dog. Typical head with good eye shape
and colour, strong neck. Neat front sitting well into crook. Well laid shoulder

and expression, good length of neck flows into well laid shoulder. Nicely filled
front and sturdy body with level topline standing. Firm quarters and moved very
steadily. O (6,1) 1. Paget and Carroll's Marvale Master of Disguise. Handsome

(3,2) 1. Williams' Brytonian Tegeirian Sweet and feminine, typical head and
soft expression, would prefer more lay back of shoulder to aid development
in front, Very immature and needs plenty time. Calm and confident in the
ring. BPIB. J (2) 1. Dance's Emem Constance Sunshine. Just out of puppy,
Nicely boned and with good feet. Correct head set on strong neck which
flowed well into shoulder, Good length of body. Level topline and well
angulated quarters. Moved well. RBOB 2. Macklam's Templestowe Harvest Moon.
Very sweet girl, nice balance to her from her head to hindquarters, kept her
topline on move. Tidy front. Good bone and feet. Just a bit less active on
the move. PG (1) Morris' Pennywave Pollyanna. Feminine and typical. Dark
eye, Neat front, nicely boned throughout, enough layback of shoulder. Neck
well set on. Topline level standing but a tendency to rise slightly on move.
O (2,) 1. Morris' Stargang Peggy Sue at Pennywave. Attractive and balanced

constructed. Neat front cradled in the crook, good bone and feet, Excellent
length of body and nicely angulated quarters. Confident temperament and
active on the move. BOB. 2. Dance's Emem Summer Sunshine. Litter sister to

PD 1 1.Lucas’ Hampdach
Dr Watson 11 months Red – promising puppy with
strong masculine head, and good eye. Well off for
bone, good height to length ratio, shoulders well
placed, ribbing well rounded and correct coupling.
Movement was the problem with this one, it was all
over the place. Possibly he did not like the venue
or floor and would prefer to be on grass. I am sure
if & when he settled he would move with a more
steady pace.

J 2 1.Lucas
Wanderhund Make A Wish At Tramardachs B&T (B)
Another promising youngster. Pleasing head with
correct dark almond eye. Reach of neck OK as was
shoulder placement. Well rounded ribbing & turn of
stifle. Same remarks apply regarding movement as to
PD – such a shame.
2.Lucas’
Tramardachs Dunkirk Dustup – Red (D) Loved his head.
Not as good a front as 1 but better shoulder
placement. Depth of keel sufficient, ribbing
carried well back with adequate coupling. Well
padded feet. Yet another that was let down by his
movement, difficult to assess.
PG 3(1Abs) 1.Lucas’
Tramardachs Milkcart Driva Red (D) Good overall even
conformation, although taller than some he was
balanced. Good front assembly and shoulder
placement, tight elbows, ribbing OK, correct tail
set. His movement was better than his kennel mates,
moved true coming but wide going.
2. Paterson’s
Phaeland Secret Dream – Did not present for
critique.
L
3(1Abs) 1. Lockett-Walters’ Ralines For Pete’s Sake
– B&T (B) – She has a classic picture book profile
for a smooth bitch. Not as big as some but
everything as it should be. Feminine head, good
reach of neck, front assembly & shoulder placement
true, correct length of upper arm. Well rounded
ribbing and depth of keel. Moved true both going &
coming. Well presented. BOB & RBIS
2.Lucas’ Cwmdarhian Red To Tango - Red

O 5 (1
Abs) Good class with quality exhibits.
1.
Paterson’s Phaeland Second Delivery to
Ambiesque - Red (D) – Super boy with masculine head,
dark eye & reach of neck. Prominent forechest, short
upper arm with elbows well tucked in, good
shoulders, correct length of ribbing & loin. Well
muscled & angulated hind quarters. Tidy feet. Moved
true going & coming. Well presented. RBOB
2.
Kerry’s Kireton Beau Diddley – B&T (D) – One
that I admired as a puppy and he has gone on to
fulfil his potential. Well up to size but this does
not detract from his overall conformation. Strong
jacket. Masculine head, well arched neck, shoulder
placement correct, good oval forechest, well off for
bone, evenly angulated fore & aft. Unlucky to meet
1. on the day.

My thanks to the Officers &
Committee members for the invitation to judge at their Open Show also for their
friendly hospitality. A special mention has to be made of the hard working
steward for the day, any judge, at whatever level, appreciates good stewarding.
In general - temperaments of the
three varieties I judged were OK, just one that had a ‘grumble’ but it was
short lived. Presentation in a couple of exhibits could have been better with
more attention given to detail.

PD (3) 2 abs 1 moved to Junior
PB (3) 1. Roberts’
Ralines Cupcake t Denver – cream of 7 months. Promising baby, attractive
feminine head with dark eye, good reach of neck going into correct shoulder
placement.
Well rounded
extended rib cage for age and correct coupling. Turn of stifle correct. Neat
feet with nails well clipped. Adequate bone throughout. She was not overdone
in any way. Moved well, presented in tip top condition. When she tightens & with
maturity I am sure she will have a bright future. BPIB & RBPIS
2.
Whitfield-Roberts’ Minard Your Own Kind Of Music red of 9 months. Another
attractive baby, with good balance all through. Front assembly correct, perhaps
coupling could be less, tight elbows and good angulation fore & aft. Well padded
trimmed feet. She moved with purpose. Unlucky to meet 1. on the day
3.
Fitzgerald’s Lyndarlea Starshine Wilma at Harlilson – 8 months
J.3(1 abs) 1.Breese’s
Silkdown Dark Star b&t (B)– her head was in correct proportion - nose to stop &
then to skull, eyes slightly rounded, ears well set. Front assembly & ribbing
OK, Shoulder placement acceptable. Hind angulation correct, moved true coming
but a little wide going. Overall a nice youngster.
2. Pretty’s
Jaxrubydax Creamy Dream – Cream (B) – smaller type than 1. Very attractive
youngster & well balanced all through with good bone for size, front assembly
could be better but was acceptable. Ribbing well extended and short coupled.
Kept her topline on the move which could have been more positive.
PG4(1 abs) 1. Pretty’s
Lyndarlea Bracken Boy at Jaxrubydax - S.Dapple (D) Handsome boy with excellent
bone & good oval front. Well angulated with correct turn of stifle and strong
well let down hocks. Good tail set. Moved steadily going & coming keeping his
topline. I liked him.
2.Fitzgerald’s
Harlilsun Harrybo Summer – Sh.cream(B) – Kind expression and with dark eye &
pigmentation. Good overall height to length balance, shoulders OK and ribbing
adequately extended. Feet badly in need of a trim and looked untidy which let
her down presentation wise.
L 3
1.Whitfield-Jones’ Dandydayo I Am Moana – Red(B) She definitely stood out with
her excellent profile when stacked and did not disappoint on the table. Lovely
head with dark eye, excellent coat, good reach of neck, front assembly correct,
well placed shoulders, nicely rounded & extended rib cage and short coupled.
Sealed her placing and came into her own with her positive movement both coming
& going. Well presented & handled. BOB
2.Breese’s
Silkdown Samson – Red (B) Similar in type to 1. Attractive head & expression,
good reach of neck. Shoulder placement acceptable. Adequate bone for size. Well
balanced height to length ratio. Ribbing OK, good hind angulation. Neat feet
with short nails.
3.Hutton’s Natali Victory Asmik to
Dachalune(Imp Rus)
OD 1 Breese’s Silkdown
Rising - Liked this boy when stacked but his hind movement let him down on the
day. Masculine head & strong muzzle. Well off for bone and correct balance all
through. Good depth of keel & correct ribbing. Tight elbows and prominent
forechest.
Well
presented.

PD 1 Adams’
Tecklegarth Gatling JW –11 months Brindle - This boy has everything you would
look for in a Wirehaired. His conformation & attitude belies his age. Super
head & furnishings, good reach of neck going into text book shoulder placement,
excellent bone, so well balanced all through. Prominent forechest, ribbing well
extended, short coupled. Well muscled hind quarters & correct hind angulation.
Well padded feet and trimmed nails. His movement was spot on both going and
coming keeping his topline at all times.
BPIB & BOB – He then went on to be
awarded BIS & BPIS – Congratulations, what a day!
PB 1 Fitzgerald’s
Fowlerheight Moonshine at Harlilsun – Slightly taller than some but still well
balanced height to length ratio. Feminine well proportioned head with correct
furnishings, good dark eye, adequate bone, shoulders acceptable. Well muscled
hind quarters. Happy temperament. Stood four square. Moved OK both coming &
going.

PG 2 1. Horne’s
Salixian Café Noir (B) Excels in her attractive head & kind expression. Correct
oval dark eye, good furnishings, strong coat, good bone. Adequate reach of neck,
shoulders ok as was ribbing. Moved true going & coming on well padded feet.
2.Baker’s
Allfreys Henrietta (B) Smart brindle, strong head, shoulders a little steep,
good overall length and well balanced. Adequate ribbing extension. She moved
with drive going but a little close coming. May be carrying a little too much
weight on the day.
L 2 1. Carter’s
Romanchi Stargazer (D) Masculine head well furnished, well up to size with
excellent bone, good shoulder placement, prominent forechest, ribbing ok as was
coupling, correct depth of keel giving an overall well balanced profile. Strong
hindquarters which he used to the maximum on the move. RBOB
2. Baker’s
Tilstock Leo (D) Presented a good profile when stacked. Good head & kind
expression with correct almond shaped eye. Correct reach of neck well arched.
Ribbing was OK, coupling could be shorter. Hindquarters well angulated. Correct
tail set. Movement could have been more positive but it was at an even pace.
O 1 1. Adams’
Wyldetarn Shoot From The Hip – (D) – Kennel mate & Sire of BOB and he has passed
on his attributes to his progeny. Lovely temperament. Strong head &
furnishings, correct shoulder placement, prominent forechest, well rounded

(1) Roylance's Clentry Gertrude Jekyll. Another
super find. Smart puppy with lots of potential. Well
up to size for age but balanced. Lovely and typical
head, dark eye, correct ear carriage. Whilst neck
could be a touch longer it still swept smoothly into
a well set shoulder,. Sternum prominent and settled
in crook, eIbows fit nicely, well boned front, tidy
feet, good ribbing helps create a level topline ,
short loin, muscled quarters, moved well and plenty
coat. Will follow this one with interest. BPIB. RBOB.
J (1) Roylance's Abbilis Dionysus Well coated,
typical head and expression, good bone, and feet,
good ribs level back, rather unsettled on the move.
PG.(2) 1. Hutton's Abbilis Theoden by Dachalune.
Good balance to this one and wellboned. Typical
head, tidy front, Shoulder laid well back, ribs long
and quarters nicely muscled. Sedate on the move but
rather proud of tail at times. 2. Bushell's
Ranglewood Harvest Hops. This one was not too happy
today and did not make the best of itself. Good
bone. Neat feet. L (3) 1. Hutton's Dachalune Araxia.
nicely headed , with dark eye, strong neck, good
shoulder, prominent sternum, tidy front, level back.
Started movement erratically but improved greatly as
it covered the ring. 2. Hutton's
Dachalune Annysia. Feminine in aspect but difficult
to assess properly since it was slightly uneven and
not so enthusiastic on the move. 3. Reston's
Ranglewood Gloxinnia. O (1) Hutton's Ch River Rumpus
Through Dachalune ShCM. This was a veteran but
certainly did not show signs of age. Well
constructed with correct head, strong neck, neat
front, good sternum, elbows well tucked in, good
length, of back, firm hammy quarters and a lovely
balance overall. Moved well. BOB AV
Veterans
– I enjoyed these two classes very much with some pleasing exhibits present. It
just goes to show that a good dog will last.
It was a difficult decision
between the two winners of the Veteran classes. Apart from size they matched
each equally in every aspect. In the end it just came down to slightly better
head carriage in the Miniature.
Veteran Miniature Dog or Bitch – 3
1.Walters’ Ch Ralines Just Ozzie –
Cream – 8 years M/L (D) Well & truly deserves his title. Has great ring presence
and a real showman in every sense of the word. Super head, correct pigmentation
& dark eye, perfectly balanced all through. Well extended ribbing & length of
loin, excellent hind quarters which he used to the maximum on the move which was
faultless. Presented immaculately and well handled. BVIS
2.
Lombardelli’s Mylforbe Fleur De Lys at Kelmbeck – B&T - 10 years M/S (B)
– Pleasing girl not overdone in any way and in good coat. She carries her age
well. Attractive head, well balanced height to length ratio. Front could
perhaps be a little more prominent. Good extension of ribbing with sufficient
coupling. On the day not moving as well as she could.
3.
Nolan’s Kelmbeck Lord Of The Dance At Eddyval 10 years M/S (D) Still
looking good for his age.
Veteran Standard Dog or Bitch 4 (1

1.
Hutton’s Ch River Rumpus Through Dachalune SHCM – B&T (L) – 9 years (D)
Impressive boy and you can see why he has his title. Presented in excellent
coat, strong masculine head, good reach of neck. Plenty of bone but not
excessive. Good forechest & lay of shoulder. Correct length of ribbing. Well
muscled hind quarters with correct turn of stifle. One of the best movers of the
day moving true and precise coming and going.
2.
Starkey’s Carpaccio Jasper for Hamoura SHCM – B&T – (S) 8 years (D). You
need to take a good look at this boy and then go hands on to appreciate his
qualities. My preference would be for a slightly stronger head but saying that
it was well in proportion. Good reach of neck & head carriage. Ribbing well
extended, correct length of loin. He was neither over nor under exaggerated in
any way. Movement was more precise and purposeful in this Class than the Breed
Class.
3.
Preston’s Ranglewood Gloxinea (L) 11 years (B) Another who put in a good
performance and carried her age with style.
AV Puppy Stakes (3,1) Whitfield-Roberts Minard Your

balanced outline and smart little mover. 2. Fitxgerald's Fowlerheight Moonshine

well boned. Still needs to drop into crook but lovely feet, good length and
happy mover.
AV Open Stakes (3) 1. Morris' Stargang Peggy Sue at

to rise on the move. 3. Morris' Pennywave Pollyanna
