I would like to extend my thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge at their Open Show, and for the hospitality that I enjoyed. I would also like to express my thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me, and for the sporting manner in which my placings were accepted. Special thanks to my stewards who looked after me and for keeping the ring running smoothly.
Temperaments were good, as were mouths, some nails would benefit from being clipped.
The first two classes were the veteran and vintage classes the owner of all these dogs should be extremely proud of their exhibits as they were all shown in tiptop condition.

Long Haired
Puppy
1st Reids Cavallibrook Final Legacy at Maudaxi
Red dog displaying a clean and balanced outline. Masculine in head with conical appearance, good eye shape and strength to the foreface. Good reach of neck and well made front assembly, pronounced keel and ribbing well back to a firm and strong loin. Stifles well bend and short from hock to heel, standing straight. In super coat and condition. Moved out well with good carriage and covered the ground in an orderly manner. Best of Breed and Best Puppy.
Junior
1st Vincents Gainscroft Dolly’s Dina
Feminine Black and Tan with good substance. Pleasing head and expression, would like a shade more strength to foreface. Good reach of neck, shoulders with decent layback, would like a little more return of forearm. Ribs well back and firm in loin which meant her topline was held throughout. Stifles well bent and used well on the move. In the challenge she stepped up a gear and her carriage and firmness in topline gave her the edge to take Best Bitch.
Graduate
1st Chapman’s Melminds Make The Gold
Red bitch with an appealing outline on the stack. Feminine and well proportioned head and expression. Well placed shoulders and good development of keel. Ribs well back and a correctly proportioned loin. Good finish to the croup and quarters well developed. Moved covering the ground and a decent footfall. In the challenge went a little flat on the move.
2nd Linacres Swansford Carazonador
Masculine head of correct shape with a dark eye and pleasing expression. Clean through the neck, a little upright in front assembly. Developed forechest and ribbed back to a proportionate loin. A little down on front pasterns today and carrying some additional weight. In good coat of correct texture. Stifles well bent.
Limit
1st Pakins Cedavoch its Taboo at Kindeace
Masculine in appearance without being overdone. Pleasing head of conical shape and good finish to the foreface, eye shape a shade round. Well placed ears of correct leather, sitting neatly towards the cheek. A little heavy thorough the neck and shoulder today, shoulders were well placed and enough return. Good fill in front and well ribbed. Stifles well bent and straight hock to heel. Moved positively but lacking animation compared to the puppy winner.
2nd Chapmans Melminds Maybelline
Red bitch of pleasing outline, would like a little more substance throughout. Head of pleasing shape a little narrow in foreface. Well placed ears and correct in expression and eye shape. I would like more angulation in her front assembly. Liked her height to length ratio and length of leg. Moved very happily and had carriage.
Open Dog
1st Paskins Kindeace Texas Ranger
This chap appealed in outline when he entered the ring for size and substance. Masculine in head and expression with the correct shape and proportions. Good reach of neck and shoulders well back, enough return to forearm and good fill in front. Ribs well back and a correctly proportioned loin. A little soft in condition today and this meant his topline was not as firm as the puppy winner in the challenge. Good finish to the croup and well made quarters. Moved true and covered the ground. In super coat of correct texture and a fabulous sheen to him.
2nd Chapmans Africandawns Just N Time for Melminds
Masculine without any coarseness. Good head and eye of correct proportions. Clean through the neck and shoulder, would like a little more return of forearm. Well filled in front and ribs well back. Good length to leg giving him enough ground clearance. Stifles well bent. In profile he covered the ground but was not as positive as one on the out and back.
Open Bitch
1st Paskins Ch Abydachs Summer dream at Kindeace ShCM
What a super lady this 12 year old girl was and presented a balanced and typy picture. Feminine head of correct conical shape, good eye and strength to the foreface. Good reach of neck and a well made front assembly standing straight and the right amount of keel. Ribs well back and a correctly proportioned loin. Stifles well bent and straight through hock to heel. Carrying a little too much weight today which did spoil her topline but she’s allowed at this age. Very accurate footfall in a steady manner.
2nd Paskins Africandawns May Sonnet Kindeace
Black and Tan with a feminine head and expression, well proportioned and good strength to the foreface. Clean through the neck and shoulder, good fill in forechest and standing straight in front. Ribs well back, she did tend to raise her topline a little on the move which detracted somewhat. Good bend of stifle and in hard muscular condition. True on the out and back placing her feet well.

Puppy
1st Tomlinsons Melisdax Magnolia In May
Red of just six months but what a delight she was. Lovey head shape of the correct proportions, good eye and a hint of mischief in them. Well placed ears and correctly slightly arched skull. Constructionally put together as you would desire at this stage and showing lots of promise. Well balanced throughout with the right amount of substance and a good leg length. Very sound action on the move for her age and had good carriage. Best Puppy and Best Bitch and Best of Breed.
2nd Roberts and Smiths Craimore Aquilegia
Black and Tan of 6 months Feminine head, slightly more refined than 1, appealing expression and dark eye. Appealed for make and shape with good proportions, well put together throughout and holding her topline. Covered the ground in profile, just needs to settle a little in front action.
3rd Couplands Retrohound Hermes
Junior
1st Tomlinsons Melisdax Memories
6mth black and tan presenting a balanced outline. Well proportioned head of correct conical appearance, well placed ears and dark eye. Good through the neck and shoulder and pleasing front assembly. Keel developing well and ribs well back to a firm loin, topline firm and held throughout. Good bend of stifle and straight from hock to heel. Steady ground covering action, just needs to firm up as she matures.
Open Dog
1st Starkeys Carpaccio Magnum PI at Harmoura
Pleasing head and expression, good proportions and strength to the foreface. Well placed fine ears which sat well against the cheek. Good reach of neck and well placed shoulders. Keel developed and well boned front legs. Liked his length of leg and ground clearance. Ribs sprung and well back to a firm loin, topline held throughout. Good finish to the croup and well set on tail. Stifles well bent and showing good muscular development. Moved covering the ground, just tended to lift a little in front action. Best Dog
Open Bitch
1st Armstrong’s Owlander First Edition
Feminine head and expression, dark well shaped eye, fine well placed ears. Pleasing reach of neck and shoulder placement, a little short in return and this meant a little straighter in front angulation. Good keel and ribs well back, good finish to the croup. She tended to pull against the lead on the move which meant her topline was not kept level at times. Good bend to stifles and straight hock to heel. Fabulous character and really enjoying herself.

Very appealing for make and shape, masculine without being overdone. Well proportioned head with dark eye and good strength to the foreface. Well put together throughout and showing all the essentials at this stage. Very sound on the move with a true and straight action on the out and back and covering the ground on the go around. Just needs to gain his confidence, which will come with time. Best Dog
Puppy Bitch
1st Flower’s Aysdaine Eos
Very appealing head and expression. Well proportioned, conical in appearance and with a slight tapering towards to the nose. Stands on well boned straight legs and very neat feet. Good through the neck and shoulder with the desired front assembly. Well ribbed back to a proportionate loin which is firming up well. Topline maintained throughout and she had carriage on the move. Accurate footfall and a positive action.
2nd McScorley’s Barlaine Golden Honey.
Another with an appealing head piece and lovely expression. Body proportions appealing and well made throughout. Another who just needs to learn her trade and gain a little confidence as she was rather tense on the table and this spoilt her outline. Sound action and placed her feet well.
Junior Bitch
1st Flower’s Aysdaine Selene
Black and cream of 6 months and still very much a baby at this stage. Pleasing head and expression of good proportions. Balanced angles fore and aft and bodying up well. Needs to tighten in front a little and firm up in pasterns but this should come with age.
Graduate
1st Flower’s Abydachs Attraction of Aysdaine
Feminine head and expression with strength to foreface. Clean through the neck and shoulder and reasonable amount of loin. Ribs sprung but not extending as far back as I would have liked. Enough leg length allowing for good clearance. Happy mover in profile but would like her a little more up on her toes.
Open Bitch
1st Shutt’s Starlight Angel of Donnadoon
Well proportioned head of good length, conical in appearance and dark eyes giving an appealing expression. Enough strength to the foreface whilst remaining feminine. Good reach of neck and front assembly, straight front legs and good bone and feet. Elbows tucked in with enough freedom of movement to allow correct action. Developed keel and ribs well back to a firm loin, with a good finish to the croup. Moved freely with carriage and placing her feet well. Best Bitch and Best of Breed.
2nd Phillips’ Summerview Holly Wood
This lady was certainly ready for the job in hand, very showy and good ring presence. Pleasing head, slightly stronger in back skull than one. Lovely dark eye of the correct shape and an appealing expression. Good reach of neck, keel and lay back of shoulder with enough return of upper arm. Ribs well back and firm in loin. Good finish to the croup. Moved covering the ground and with carriage.

Very attractive shaded red Min Sm. Liked her make and shape, showing good leg length to body ratio. Lovely head of correct conical shape, dark well shaped eyes giving a very appealing expression. Clean through the neck and shoulders with a well made front assembly. Good keel, ribs well back to a well proportioned and firm loin. Level topline maintained throughout and a good finish to the croup. On the move she had carriage, style and a very accurate footfall. True on the out and back and covered the ground with ease.
2nd Hutchings Collidach Raynee Day
Another smart youngster with lots of potential. This Standard Wire bitch presented a balanced outline with the correct amount of substance whilst maintaining her femininity. Lovely head of good proportions, a dark eye with a hint of mischief in her expression. Good furnishings to her brow and muzzle. Strong neck of good length, well made front assembly and developed keel. Ribs well back and a proportionate loin. Today not as firm in topline as one but this I am sure is purely down to maturity. Stands on good legs and feet and is straight wen viewed from all angles. On the move she was accurate and positive in action and covered the ground well.
