I would like to thank the WEDA Committee for inviting me to judge BIS at this well-organised,   hospitable event.

I was rather spoilt for choice with some quality breed winners coming through.

BIS:  Wendy Stark's Adnerbs Won Vision Of Gobannnium Jw.  (SHD)

I just loved this quality bitch who took command of the ring, with that 'look at me' attitude.

Correct size with classic head, superb front, firm top-line, powerful well-angulated quarters. Moved with poise, balance and verve, covering the ground effortlessly.  It was a pleasure to award her BIS.

RBIS: Clare Butler's Minard out Of The Darque From Drymoor Jw (MLHD)

It was this bitch's elegance and movement that won through today; what a show girl. Presented in perfect coat and handled to get the best out of her: she just flowed round the ring, covering plenty of ground.  Beautifully constructed, with well-angulated front & rear.  Held her outline at all times, a very worthy winner.

BPIS:   R & K Sainsbury's Drymoor Marron Grace At Boscolla (LHD)

What a delightful outgoing 6 mth puppy; couldn't take my eyes off her.  It was her extraordinary balance and soundness that won through today.  Feminine head, super front with prominent forechest, nicely bodied for age.  Powerful hammy quarters, used to good effect. Top-line can be a tad soft at times but hey, she is only 6mths. However once on the move it firmed-up nicely to give a  pleasing outline. Very positive true mover;  I had no hesitation in awarding her BPIS.

RBPIS: Jason Rudkin's Crosscop If I Could Dream For Dynastydax (MSHD)

What a smart compact bitch, handled and presented to perfection. So well proportioned everything fits. Good front, firm top-line, powerful angulated rear. Moved with balance and energy, she just gives a 100% .  Should have a promising future.

BVIS: R & K Sainsbury's Ridgegrove Constance At Boscolla (MLHD)

This quality 11 yr old stood alone. Carrying her years lightly she presented herself with poise and grace. Lovely outline, moved with purpose, at one with her handler.

Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (1,1) 1st - Absent

Puppy Dog or Bitch (2,1) 1st - Mullen's Rozelle Are You Ready. Must say I liked this puppy very much, trained properly it has allot of potential. True coming and going with a lovely topline on the move. Skeletal construction is also nice both font and back with a nice head shape, perhaps about 1.5inchs to long in loin but apart from that for a puppy it is close to a 9 out of 10 for me!!!!

Junior Dog or Bitch (3,1) Close decision between these two but preferred the front of first. 1st - Dance's Emem Autumnal Sunshine JW. First of a few entered on the day from this kennel all of similar type. 2nd - Kilroy's Blackvein Rambler at Janacop JW

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (2,1) 1st - Mullen's Rozelle with Love. Quite nice acceptable head moved sound coming and going with a good topline.

Limit Dog or Bitch (5,3) Another close decision both had acceptable heads and moved soundly preferred the coat and tail set of first. 1st - Ree's Emem Sunday Sunshine for Ermewood 2nd - Kilroy's Blackvein Cupid at Janacop Open Dog (1) 1st Dance's Emem Solar Power JW. From the same kennel and similar to the best of breed winner.

Open Bitch (2) 1st Dance's Emem Letty Bee Sunshine JW. Two words “pocket rocket” BOB today out of what was entered. Great ring presence. 2nd - Mullen's Starhill Flirty Girty. Preferred the head and topline on the move of first. Does have very good length of upper arm which is hard to get in any breed of dachshund these days one to work with.

2nd - Rudkin's Dynastydax Alfreda

3rd - Beer's Stargang Frankly Magic at Lowrider

Res - Maros's Moyra

Special Beginner Dog or Bitch (5,2) To be honest neither exhibits have the qualities of a show dog rating them 5 and 4 out of ten respectively. 1st - Beer's Lowrider All Maid of Magic. Moved reasonably straight coming and going but does have quite a roach in the top line on the move with very long legs. 2nd - Poulier's Auradach Alfred the Great 3rd - Maros's Moyra

Puppy Dog or Bitch (7,2) 1st - Rudkin's Crosscop If I Could Dream for Dynastydax. Acceptable head but did prefer the head of second. Moved true coming and going with a level topline. 2nd - O'Connell's Llennocor Miss Alana. Very nice head, front assembly is acceptable stacked, preferred the topline and hindquarters of first. Something to work with. 3rd - Wilkinson & Wakeman's Darque Angel for Wakywilks Res - Forge's Normpug Apricot Beauty VHC - Beer's Lowrider All Might and Magic

Junior Dog or Bitch (7,1) 1st - Jame's Lois Lane Cheky's Hojanmitnaf at Daxiemoors. Nice head sound coming and going with a good topline on the move, would prefer move drive from behind, not sure the pigmentation meets the breed standard. 2nd - Wilkinson & Wakeman's Bronia Valentina for Wakywilks. Nice style of a black and tan with good substance definitely has potential, on the day preferred first. 3rd - Beer's Lowrider All Maid of Magic Res - Machray's Dubrey's Star Dust VHC - Forge's Normpug Prairie Moon

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (5,2) Questioned 2 nd and 3rd placings against the breed standard. 1st - Forge's Normpug Tiger Eyes. Worked well in movement around the ring. 2nd - Mitchell's Dubrey Secret Love 3rd - Poulier's Auradach Alfred the Great

Limit Dog or Bitch (4) Close decision this one between first and second. 1st - Beer's Stargang Candy Stripes at Lowrider. Would prefer a better head however it moved soundly with energy around the ring, this was the deciding factor. 2nd - Kilroy's Janacop Maggie May. Preferred the head to first but went with the movement of first. 3rd - Mitchell's Energy Elegance Ferrari at Dubrey Res - Forge's Normpug Red Flame Open Dog - NO ENTRIES

Open Bitch (7,3) This was a close decision!!! 1st - O'Connell's Hollybirch Glowing Gold for Llennocor. My best of breed. I had previously judged this small red bitch and was very impressed last time. Looked a picture on the stack and was up with the best of them for best in show. 2nd - Rudkin's Dynastydax Alfreda. Nice black and tan bitch preferred the substance and hind movement of first. 3rd - Beer's Stargang Frankly Magic at Lowrider Res - Maros's Moyra

Puppy Dog or Bitch (4,3) 1st - Goddard's Minard Strawberry Pearl. Acceptable Head, Stood as it should in front when stacked, movement acceptable for a puppy.

Junior Dog or Bitch (1) 1st - Goddard's Minard Strawberry Pearl

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (3,1) 1st - Latham-Jackson's Hanishan Neapolitan Urishay. Nice head, Very good front assembly stood with nice feet. Topline could be better on the move. 2nd - Dixi Aris at Devondax. Of similar quality to first. Preferred the head and front of first. Down in pastern on the day.

Limit Dog or Bitch (6,3) 1st - Butler's Minard Out of the Darque from Drymoor JW. Best of Breed and Reserve Best In Show. Lots to like. Nice Head, particularly liked the topeline and underline on the move. 2nd - Cox's Cheritondax Chardonnay JW. Unlucky to meet first. A Nice bitch which I have judged recently not allot to fault preferred the depth of ribbing of first. 3rd - Latham-Jackson's Urishay Pennyroyal Open Dog (1,1) 1st - Absent

Open Bitch (4,2) 1st - Sailsbury's Drymoor After Eight at Boscolla. Very nice bitch, lovely head seriously considered for best of breed and of similar type and colour to my best of breed winner. If she was up on pastern on the day she would have pipped the winner. 2nd - Cox's Dolyharp Sweet Harmony. Moved out well around the ring. Preferred the head and length of neck of first. Not as sound as first going away.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (2,1) 1st Salisbury's Ridgegrove Constance at Boscolla. Best Veteran In Show. Veteran performance on the day from this 11yr old bitch. Lots to like still holds a nice topline on the move and very nice going away from you.
