I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge, and their hospitality throughout the day, also thanks to my two very capable stewards who kept the ring running efficiently, and to the exhibitors who accepted their placings in a sporting manner. I found temperaments to be good, but some exhibits did not cope to well with the slippery floor. Puppy Dog 2 (0) 1 Wyeth, Rayol Texas Ranger 7 month old shaded red, houndy head of correct proportions, oval eye well placed ears, correct dentition, reachy neck, leading into well placed shoulders, and good length of ribbing, level topline when stacked and on the move, creating a lovely outline. Moved out well. BPD, BPIB, and later pleased to see him go RBPIS. 2 Coupland Rayol Charlie Brown Litter brother to 1, another shaded red who is not quite as mature as his litter mate, and a little longer in the muzzle. Correct dentition, enough reach of neck, and shoulders well placed, good topline and tailset, well padded feet. Just needs a little more confidence. Junior Dog No Entries Novice Dog No Entries Post Graduate Dog 2 (0) 1 Jennings, Marvale The Opposition At Jennivon 19 month Black and Tan, masculine head, with correct ear placement and oval eye, good reach of neck, flowing into well laid shoulders, prominent prosternum, and good ribbing, level topline and good tailset, moved well. 2 Hayvenhund Hunky Dory 16 month old Black and Tan. Finer type than 1, correct shaped head, well placed ears, correct dentition, reachy neck, and prominent prosternum, would prefer a little more ribbing, moved ok. Open Dog 4 (0) 1 Graham Marvale Chancellor At Ravold 19 month Black and Tan, Masculine head with correct ear placement, dark eyes and correct dentition, good reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders, prominent prosternum, held topline on stack and on the move. Moved well fore and aft. BD 2 Hinwood, Adnerb Sheer Nanagins At Longmel 3 ½ year old black and Tan, finer type than 1, but still masculine, scored in head, reachy neck, and well placed shoulders, and level topline kept at all times, moved well. 3 Starkey, Carpaccio Magnum PI At Hamoura Puppy Bitch 2 (0) 1 Roberts & Smith Rayol Cherry Pancake 7 month old shaded red, a real baby, but lots to like, pleasing in head, correct ear placement and good dentition, reachy neck, good angulation front and rear, good topline Moved well. 2 Higgins Empetthounds Galations to Leveliss 7 ½ months Cholocolate, another real baby, higher on the leg than 1, correct head shape with good pigmentation, correct scissor bite, good length of neck, level topline, a little erratic on the move, but sure she will settle given time. Junior Bitch 1 (0) 1 Cox, Bulldaxit Sooner Or Later 13 month old Black and Tan. A very honest bitch of a nice size and very pleasing to go over, feminine head correct scissor bite, well laid shoulder, well ribbed up, well muscled hind quarters, moved well. Novice Bitch 2 (0) 1 Hinwood, Longmel Cococabana 2 ½ year old black and tan bitch of a nice size, feminine head, with correct ear placement, and correct dentition, good reach of neck, and well laid shoulders, level topline, well angulated rear, moved well. 2 Roberts & Smith Craimose Aquilegia For Rayol 21 month old black and tan very similar to 1, but not the reach of movement as the winner, and a little prod of her tail today. Post Graduate Bitch 5 (1) 1 Goffin- Thorogood Matzell Mazari 4 year old shaded red, lovely for size, houndy head but feminine, correct ear placement, dark eye , and correct scissor bite reachy neck, well ribbed up and good angulation front and rear, kept her topline at all times moved out well. 2 Wilkinson & Wakeham Raajput’s CanadianWinter With Wakywilks, 18 month black and tan finer than 1, and a little longer cast, very much the same attributes as 1 moved ok, just preferred overall balance of winner. Open Bitch 4 (1) 1 Nortons Matzell Martinella 4 year old shades red, with plenty of bone correct head proportions with well set ears correct scissor bite, good reach of neck prominent prosternum, well angulated front, well ribbed up, and level topline which was kept at all times. Puppy dog (3,1)
1 Howlett & Phillips, Tendrow Malibar 11m wild boar. Stunning lad who was so correct all through and beautifully balanced. Excellent head with a strong jaw and good bite. Well arched neck into a flowing topline and correct tail set. Neat well arched feet. Well matured sternum with well filled thorax and good ribbing. Correct angulation fore and aft with no exaggeration showing off pads with true drive from the rear. Confident and even temperament and handled to his advantage. Excellent coat quality and presentation. BP BOB Thrilled to see he went BIS and BPIS congratulations!
2 Coverley, Aventine the Poacher 8m wild boar. Good head proportions leading into a modest length neck, nice pigment and ear set. Shoulder a tad steep which gave a short stepping front movement, but he had pleasing sturdy hindquarters which gave a correct parallel movement which was lacking in many exhibits today. Sturdy topline into slight rise over loin and correct tail set. Good coat. He had a lovely fun temperament.
Junior dog (2,1)
1 Howlett & Phillips, Tendrow Malibar This lad got even better opening up his reach and drive flowing around the ring with ease.
Novice dog (2,0)
1 Norman, Silvae State Secret 20m wild boar. Good head shape, correct bite. Muscular neck leading into a nice compact body with short strong loin. Strong forelegs, would prefer a longer upper arm to give a better front movement. He had the nicer outline and is well balanced with a more modest rear angulation. Well-presented coat. Slightly shy on the table today.
2 Farrington, Dollydash Defender of Faith 17m wild boar. This lad had a nice head all through, well arched neck of good length. Topline firm into a correct tail set. Short in loin which is good but was also a bit short in ribbing. His more compact and taller shape gave more ground clearance and his rear angulation was in proportion to this. Would prefer whole front assembly back a tad as he was low stepping. Slightly shy lad today on the table but warmed up on the floor and was handled well. Coat was quality and well presented.
Post Graduate dog (3,1)
1 Russell, Collidach Russell Leaves 20m red. Bigger lad, won on his overall balance and construction qualities. Another great head and furnishings, strong brow and correct ear set. Level bite. Strong neck flowed into correct topline, croup and tailset. Bit long in body for me but firm ribbing all through and nice spring of rib. Correctly angulated fore and aft. Shoulder placement good. Lovely temperament.
2 Mason, Bramalodge Bet on the Blues 2yr wild boar. Nice sized dog, smooth top and underline with ample ground clearance. His head was pleasing, ears carried well forward and a strong neck. Enough forechest, but a steep shoulder assembly gave a short step movement and needs his ribbing carrying further back would complete his outline.
Open dog (5,0)
1 Davies, Atahira Ruffian 4yr wild boar. Splitting hairs between 1 and 2, this lad had pleasing balance and shape, he carried himself well on the move if he kept his nose up more would be even better showing his correct shape off. Lovely even nature and well presented. Pleasing head well rounded and set ears on a reachy strong neck. What stood out for me here was his powerful and correct parallel hind movement driving from the rear with enough reach in the front.
2 Robinson & Howlett, Skyswift Tennessee Honey 5yr wild boar. Super shape overall, he is a strong sturdy boy holding his outline stacking and on the move. Neat well arched feet. Decent front assembly, prominent breastbone with well filled thorax with a flowing underline and matching topline. Harsh wire coat well presented.
puppy bitch (3,0)
1 Arthurs, Elderkine’s Austen 8m wild boar. Lovely class of puppies all with great potential. Winner was calm and collected so could be shown to advantage today. Nice bone for a youngster, and well balanced outline. Good length of neck and a firm topline with a nice rise over loin. Shoulder assembly had pleasing angles, ribbing good into a short loin, firm rounded rump full muscled with unexaggerated angulation and was the most parallel and true mover.
2 McCalmont, Silvae Kitemark 10m wild boar. Loved this girl, she is finer boned and elegant with lots of room to mature into her longer frame. Great head and expression with rounded ears well set on a long neck. Enough forechest with sweeping underline and great ground clearance. Moved out well and light on her feet, her super outline won her placing here. Well presented with a harsh coat and furnishings. A busy and fun girl with a bright future I’m sure.
Junior bitch (9,1)
1 Parrott, Bystock Blue Tango at Marondera 14m wild boar. This girl has good shape and balance. A strong head and jaw, arched neck into a sweeping topline and rise over loin flowing into her tail set. Front assembly correct with strong breastbone and well filled thorax. Well-muscled and well off for bone. Would prefer a more compact body length. After assessing on the table I was pleased to see her correct construction translated into her correct movement with reach and parallel drive.
2 Seath, Sunsong Hopes and Dreams 15m wild boar. A nice sized girl with a more worky, elegant profile, well muscled up. A tight harsh coat and furnishings well presented. A strong jaw and a nice tapering head with almond eye and correct ear set. Strong neck flowing into her correct front and topline. Good layback of shoulder, stood on strong legs and well arched feet. Pleasing rear angulation. Stepped out well for her handler and looks like she’s ready to go hunting moving with purpose. Good ground clearance.
Novice bitch (2,2)
Post Graduate bitch (9,5)
1 Hutchings, Collidach Raynee Day JW 21m red. Beautiful head set with strong jaw and good length of muzzle. Ears carried well forward with expression. pleasing construction all through, super shoulder assembly and well filled front. Her strong neck flows into a fairly level topline with spring of rib carried well back into her short loin. Her rear angulation matched and she moved true fore and aft with fluent powerful reach and drive. Well-muscled rump, with perhaps a touch too much condition on top. Personality on this girl is great and I will always appreciate this in the ring especially when their construction is spot on.
2 Graham, Boloria Wild Spice JW 22m wild boar. A finer boned girl, with a more sweeping body shape. Loved her expressive head, correct jaw, good bite and strong browbone. Conical head and well arched neck sweeped into her withers and topline. Modest angulation. She moved nice and correct, parallel and well set rear. Neat feet and well presented coat.
Open bitch (9,2)
1 Hutchings, CH Collidach Brook Ling ShCEx 4yr red. She instantly catches the eye in the ring as she reaches and drives in profile holding her shape well and her personality seals the deal, she stands true when she wants showing off her stunning outline. Super head, expressive look with her well set ears. She is very correct all through; nice body proportions with excellent front and rear assembly -spot on. Well sprung rib carried well back. Firm rounded rump well-muscled. Not surprised to see she wears her crown now. Best bitch.
2 Rowe, CH Boloria’s Trick or Treat JW 7yr wild boar who is still pushing for the win, and handled to advantage. Lovely head shape with almond eye and a bold defiant expression. Ears well set and rounded. Good reach of neck into her firm top line. Strong keel and ribbing with a shorn loin. Her correct shoulder placement and rear angulation served her well on the move. Overall a nice balanced compact body with good ground clearance. Held her shape on the move in profile and showed true parallel drive with correct width. A worthy champ I was pleased to go over.
