LONG HAIRED - DOGS

Type varied, presentation and movement generally good. A few dogs were shown carrying too much weight and this spoilt the outline and movement.

PD 1 Booth and Elsley’s Abbalongdat Name Of The Game. Shaded red boy attending his first show. Well ribbed, movement positive.

JD 1 Metcalfe’s Metadale Make My Day. Black and Tan of good type, well off for bone, good head, excellent shoulder placement, good ribbing and well turned stifle. Moving well; 2 Swan and Roberts’ Rodima Gold Knight At Swansford. Another nice exhibit. Similar remarks apply, just preferred hind angulation on 1.

ND 1 Smith’s Rodima Reach For Gold. Masculine head, good shoulder placement, would prefer more angulation behind, movement ok; 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Original Sin. Unplaced in junior, not quite the front of 1 but well let down behind moved keeping a good topline.

PGD 1 Oxley’s Larkhund Latest Destroyer At Owlery. Black and tan, very nice type, well angulated fore and aft, good head, reachy neck, good size, excellent top and underline. Moved well; 2 Lawrence’s Peverleigh Mr Stripe. Red d with pleasing head, good body and well angulated shoulders, prefer a little more angulation behind, moved well.

LD 1 Garman’s Albaney Black Buckaneaer. Quality black and tan with lovely outlook, classic head, reachy neck, well placed shoulders, prominent forechest, good angulation behind, moving well, he has a good long stride and covers the ground well, straight coming and going keeping a good topline at all times. CC; 2 Booth and Elsley’s Abbalongdat Angel Eyes. Nice red d, good head, well angulated fore and aft. Moved well.

OD 1 Swan and Roberts’ Ch Swansford Lanador. Nice size shaded red, pleasing head, good shoulder placement, well ribbed and well let down behind, he moved well keeping a good topline, RCC; 2 McNaughton’s Eldindean Othello Of Cedavoch. Red d, pleasing head, good neck and shoulders, well angulated, well ribbed and moved well.

LONGHAIRED BITCHES

The quality of exhibits on show was of a very high standard. Owners had taken care to show their dogs well, clean teeth and short nails were the order of the day. Very few were absent and in the larger classes quality was present in all placings. Movement is always my first consideration and my overall impression was that this had improved since I last judged the breed, short upper arms are still to be found.

MP (1) 1 Kantis Kreme Fraiche. Lovely red, nice feet and rear action, level topline, needs time.

P (5) 1 Tekalhaus Kruggerand. Shaded Red, ideal size with good shoulders and rear action, lovely topline standing and moving, a top class exhibit. Not happy with herself on the table, gave her the benefit of the doubt but must present herself with more confidence in the future to win her just rights. Best wishes for the future. BP and BPIS; 2 Owiery Golden Splendour. Clear red, nice lines however preferred first's movement; 3 Larane Sallys Star At Summerview.

J (7) 1 Abydachs Modern Girl. Shaded red, lovely outline both standing and on the move. Good shoulders and rear action, pleased to award her this class and novice bitch; 2 Metadale My Way. Red of smaller type, all there and in the right place, lots to like about her and only lost out to first on maturity, in time must do well for her owner!; 3 Bonavoir Singing The Blues At Loggeta.

N (5) 1 A Modern Girl; 2 T Kruggerand; 3 Abbalongdat Ms Honey Honey.

PG (6) 1 Metadale Moment Of Truth At Bronia. Very nice shaded red, smaller type but all there, lovely coat and nice outline, top quality from this kennel and breeder!; 2 Swansford Tinkadora With Fragglerock. Red of larger type, lots to like about her but not the style of first; 3 Bonavoir Rhythm and Blues At Loggeta.

L (11) 1 Owlery Dakota; 2 Metadale Made In Heaven. Two top class bitches. I wish I could have awarded a joint first. Lovely outlines, sound movement, good coats. Very difficult choice, you are both winners in my mind; 3 Cedavoch Sudden Impulse.

OB (9) 1 Bronia Goldtrinket. CC. BOB and BIS. Pleased to award her her 3rd CC, a true Champion, the day was hers, what more can I say!; 2 Ch Cedavoch Castaspell. A worthy Champion, a lovely red, lots to like about her, pleased to award her RCC hopefully she will continue her winning ways; 3 Ch Abydachs Give Me The Future.

SP O BLACK and TAN (4) 1 F Vosme Romanee Via M; 2 M Melanee; 3 Witch Spell Merlinella.

SP O AOC (1) 1 Marose Vermima The Gem.
