PD. (3). 1. Bonglovanni’s, Merrygarth Greve de Lecq avec Ankors. Quite an engaging young red with such a nice head. Strength yet full of quality with good underjaw and well shaped eyes. He has a fair length of neck, the ribs carry well back and his backline is clean. In good coat, he had the most fluent action in the class. 2. Andrews and Haines’, Merrygarth Grouville at Isanhurst. Litter brother to the winner and quite similar in many ways. I gave the winner the nod as I felt he had better head and this chap is not yet as controlled on the move hence his backline was less steady when circling the ring. Certainly very well ribbed and bodied with an excellent forechest and well rounded rump. He was in super coat condition. 3. Andrews and Haines’, Merrygarth Hellier at Isanhurst.

JD. (3). 1. Cooper and Steadman’s, Darsoms Zuave at Merrygarth. Another red and I felt this one has lots of quality and promise. I especially liked his head balance, clean cheeks, lovely underjaw and beautiful eyes for shape and set. He uses his neck to advantage when posed, his shoulders are well laid and he has a fairly long ribcage. His loins do have that fraction of a rise and his hindquarters are well let down. Moved with an easy stride. 2. Booth and Elsley’s, Abblongdat Name of the Game. In stance my initial impression that this fellow would run the eventual winner close as my eyes liked what they saw. He too is so shapely, long and low with a good topline and then that excellent headpiece when examined at close quarters. He has strong bone and good feet but was a bit disappointing on the move where he stepped short and seemed to be holding back for some reason. 3. Burke and Manston’s, Bonavoir Cloneylogan.

PGD. (5). 1. D Suave at M. 2. Chappell’s, Gleneddee Renegade Warrior. A well ribbed and angulated dog with low hocks and a good backline. His head is pleasing, little stop and lovely ear set. Well arched neck and in full coat. Shade heavier all through than the winner and not quite matching the lightness of his free side action. 3. Jordan’s, Resurgam Moonlight Sonata.

LD. (11). Burke and Manston’s, Bonavior Seven Sisters. BOB. I felt this red dog to be such an elegant and shapely fellow with that dash of quality from his head which has all the power one would seek without the coarseness which seems so prevalent. Endowed with a super neck, shoulders are well laid, his forelegs amply weighted in bone and his front action is so good. He does have a good length of rib. The loins are quite short and his bend of stifle allows him to drive round the ring so well. Not in full coat but I felt he looked the class male here. 2. Oxley’s, Larkhund Latest Destroyer at Owelery. RBD. Like the winner I felt he had a certain presence and air of quality which does attract the eye. Excellent overall proportions with the outline so clean and smooth. His hind action was really good and he just lost out to the slightly steadier front of the first. 3. Wedge’s, Dolan Cupid Arrow.

PB. (2). 1. Mitchell’s, Darsoms Zerenity at Bronia. BP. I belive at her first show and once over the stagefright she acquitted herself well. All the essentials are there. A wonderful outline when stacked and she clearly has a future. I see she is by Ch. Conquistador out of the days BOB. Royally bred and it shows. 2. Atkins and Harwood’s, Kantis Kreme-Fraiche. A nice un-exaggerated red bitch with a fabulous temperament. Totally outgoing and friendly. Pleasing head, eyes a little full for me but she has a useful neck. Level backline and was in very good coat. Like a number of others I don’t belive she did herself justice on the move.

JB. (6). 1. Booth and Elsley’s, Abbalongdat Miss Mama Mia. 2. Wedge’s, Dolan Valentine Dream. Both reds of good quality. Both have very pleasing head shapes with well set eyes and good underjaws. The winner is more even striding in profile movement and her topline is that smidgeon tighter behind the withers in stance. The second had the more appealing rump and croup shape. 3. Chappell’s, Hillmar Velvet Zella at Gleneddee.

PGB. (4). 1. Halsall’s, Bronia Infanta with Rossdach. Yet another red. This one was carrying that little bit extra weight that she could lose to her advantage. However it did not hide her overall quality. She certainly out moved the others with especially strong hind action. Her fore assembly is excellent, her neck pretty long and her topline quite firm. 2. Page’s, Chipperfield Lady Patience. B/t leaner and trimmer and when in stance is most elegant with that clean, long neck held high and her clean level back. She is well boned has a very well laid shoulder, elbows quite tight and she was in lovely condition. Was another victim of the grass ring as she was another, which never really stepped out with the fore reach her construction implied she had. 3. Harwood’s, Kantis Korlander.

LB. (2). 1. Chappell’s, Gleneddee Sugar Plum Fairy. I thought her a very pretty headed bitch. No doubting her sex. Lovely reach of neck, enough chest development and nice spring of rib. In stance her topline is so clean cut and smooth and she has excellent width as she moves away. 2. Chapman’s, Melminds Melanee. B/t and what a fidget this one is when asked to pose! Gave her handler a hard time but came into her own when asked to move. Nice for size and substance. Pleasing neck, backline could be that tad firmer. I preferred the head and expression of the winner.

OB. (3). 1. Mitchell’s, Ch. Darsoms Zwagerbabe. BOB. Looks every inch of what she is, a Champion. Classic in head which shows power yet utterly feminine in expression. Long clean neck and excellent layback in shoulder with fairly tight elbows. Has length, is long and smooth outlined and moved so very well. In full coat, she was presented to perfection and I was thrilled to see her short listed in the Group. 2. Oxley’s, Owlery Dakota. RBB. Although this red bitch was sadly out of coat it only served to show what a very good shape she is. I thought her head quite a delight. A real wedge with that little stop and excellent eyes. She has a good neck, the ribs carry well back and she is quite sound both ways with a fairly even stride when moving round the ring. 3. Wedge’s, Bonavoir Irish Mist at Dolans.
