PD. (3). 1. Metcalfe’s, Metadale Macquaire. CC and BP. Very handsome puppy. I admired his medium size, not over long back, firm topline with a nice slight arch over loin. Good masculine, outlook, ok in front. Well ribbed back. Nicely carried tail and impressive side gait. Super temperament and quality throughout. Sire and dam both won the RCC on the day. 2. Cross’s, Bonaviour Beethoven with Loggeta. Another handsome boy. Much too big and very, very long. He is a good sound mover. Keeps a level backline and is a beautiful nail colour. Too much stop in head for a Dachsund. 3. Chapman’s, Melminds Electrical Storm.
JD. (1). 1. Edwards and Pankhurst’s, Neropa Ace of Spades at Danward. Excellent size and proportions. Correct length of back and a short strong loin. Nice over croup and well muscled and angulated rear. His head takes close inspection as on first glance doesn’t quite appeal, but I think once the puppy fluff from his ears disappears and his head fines down and tone, it is very pleasing. Needs a touch more neck for elegance and not such harsh handling.
PGD. (5). 1. Bongiovanni’s, Merrygarth Freve de Leco avec Ankors. Reasonable size, nicely high set ears which lend an interested expression to his face. Good almond eyes, strong neck, not too long in body. Reasonable rear. Nicely sprung ribs. Moved out with good drive in profile and a lovely true front. His sister won Novice. 2. Page’s, Chipperfield Brigadier. Very elegant with a beautiful head and chiselling under eye, ears set too low. Good neck, shoulders quite nicely set. Needs to spring his ribs and get a little more width throughout. Moved well and uses his quarters. In good coat and muscle. Half brother to third in Limit Dog. 3. Burke and Manston’s, Loggeta Intredip from Bonavior.
LD. (3). 1. Wedge’s, Dolan Cupid Arrow. Slightly plain look to head but eyes nicely set, muzzle strong and of good length, tight lips. A good length of upper arm but shoulders rather up the neck and blades set a little too far apart. Super body of correct length. Good over croup and tail set. Neat rear. A good mover all round. First and second are half brother I see. 2. Pannell’s, Penzown Black Edition. In superb muscle and condition. A mature and pleasing 5 years old not the front of winner, but a super body. Level topline and strong slight arch to lon. So powerful in rear. A credit to his owner.3. Furnaeux’s, Voryn’s Fellini.
OD. (7). 1. Metcalfe’s, Metadale Make my Day. RCC. A lovely class. Winner very pleasing to go over. Lovely front, neatly fitting into oval chest. Shoulders well set back. Good legs and feet. Nicely ribbed and a well made rear. An elegant shapely dog. I would like lips a little tighter and slightly less stop, but otherwise a smashing boy. 2. Swann and Robert’s, Ch. Swansford Lanador. Sound fit and so nicely muscled. Strong well boned in lovely coat and body. Not too long in back and overall a smart active dog. Just not quite the lay of shoulder and length of neck of winner, but very close up. 3. Burke and Manston’s, Bonavoir Seven Sisters.
PB. (4). 1. Mitchell and Hanney’s, Swansford Viennadora of Bronia. A good class with some great babies here! Enchanting head on winner, lovely almond eyes, good cinical head, strong muzzle, fairly tight lips. Good neck and extra tight front. Great body not overlong. Good behind. Her coat is slightly all over the place at the moment, but time will sort that out. Sound free active mover. Well handled. 2. Cross and Burke’s, Loggeta Chiquitta. Bigger puppy all through, which I din;t care for so much. She is sound, great body and rincage. Good legs and feet are well knuckled up. Good head, lovely rich colour and she moves well for age. Just wish she was a little more feminine3. Barrow’s, Frankanwen Dancing Queen.
JB. (1). 1. Swann and Robert’s, Swansford Kiadora. Absolutely ideal size for a standard bitch. She has a lovely head, good broad jaws. Elegant neck ok in front construction. Wonderful body and topline and well made rear. Lovely long stride going around, keeping her good firm backline. She just is a little disappointing in muscle tone, which she needs over the shoulders and quarters, which will gibe her that little more width in tp and down movement she needs, to trouble the best.
NB. (1). 1. Newport’s, Merrygarth Greve D’Azette. Very hot and she wasn’t using herself very well in the heat. Nice to go over and beautifully muscled up. Topline tends to run up a trifle but she does push well off hocks.
PGB. (8). 1. Marsh’s, Marshwick Moonlight Senata. Not an easy class, most all were vastly overweight and sluggish. Such a shame as there were some nicely constructed girls here. Winner sound and fit, a little out of coat. Elegant shapely, good front and topline. Sired by thirs in Open Dog. 2. Atkins and Harwood’s, Kantis Kreme Fraiche. So nice to go over. One of the ‘fatty’s’, really would benifit from several punds off her! A lovely type and quality. 3. Sutton’s, Dolan Cupid Golden Dawn at Deami.
LB. (5). 1. Metcalfe’s, Metadale My Way. RCC. Difficult between first two. Winner was a lovely size, well made excellent front, bone and tight thick feet. Slightly out of coat on the day but it does show off her elegant outline, so sound and a lovely type of head, eyes and expression. Her brother won RCC and son CC. 2. Mitchell’s, Darsoms Zerenity at Bronia. Even more elegant, gorgeous head, well set ears. Ok in front. Well bodied. A mite longer in back than first and just tended to tummy tap in rear movement. A quality bitch! Her sister was second in Open. 3. Cross’s, Bonavior Singing the Blues at Loggeta.
OB. (3). 1.
Metcalfe’s, Metadale Made in Heaven. CC and BOB. Very close decision, three very
lovely girls. Winner just had the better head, more width in skull and a very
slight stop. Long foreface, broad jaw, high set ears. Very sound, hard and fit
girl to go over. Excellent legs and feet. Well bodied and correct tailset. Not
overlong or too big. A really nice quality compact Dachshund with a decent
length of leg. 2. Mitchel’s, Darsoms Zophisticate of Bronia. Flowed beautifully
around the ring, also nicely made. Head didn’t appeal so much as first and she
is a mite longer in loin. Otherwise a super girl in good body and enough coat.
Elegant in outline. 3. Geeson’s, Ch. Abydachs Give me the Future.
