LONG HAIRED
Thank you to the exhibitors for a pleasing entry on this my first time awarding CC’s in this variety. All exhibits were clean & well presented & there was only the odd canine tooth that could have done with a clean. One or two had more coat than I like. There was excellent bone & feet with short nails in most cases. None of those entered were what I would call over large, but just one or two were a little plump. I did though find quite a few who lacked a gd reach of neck & had upright shoulders. Rear ends with gd muscle tone were present in most cases, those that were not stood out. Top lines were gd & held on the move & none were what I would call too low to ground. Ribbing was gd with plenty of spring.
PD (5). 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Monte Cristo. Shaded red with a masculine head, dark eye, gd reach of neck, leading into well placed shoulders, excellent spring of rib, short coupled, well angulated rear moved with drive & extension. V promising youngster, but did not seem as settled in the challenge for BPIB; 2 Clarke’s Tekalhaus Masterpiece. Another shaded red with much promise, but at the moment a little apprehensive, but once he loses this, he has the construction & movement to do well & he is a lovely size, who moved out well & maintained a level top line at all times; 3 Atkin’s Kantis King Of Clubs. B/t larger than 1 & 2 but with excellent bone & feet, but is tending to turn a front foot out at the moment, could be shorter coupled. Movement quite gd. Shows a balanced profile.
JD (2). 1 Grimes’ Mondricia Mr Ed. Masculine head & eye, gd reach of neck running into quite well placed shoulders, prominent forechest. A little long in the hock, so rear movement lacks drive. Correct coat & well presented; 2 Chapman’s Melminds Master Copy. Masculine head & dark eye, more upright in shoulder than one, so not the reach of neck of winner or front extension. Well made rear which he knew how to use. Excellent bone & well presented.
ND (1). 1 Goodsell’s Bronia Monte Carlo. Masculine head with gd bone, well presented, lacks a little angulation both front & rear, which shows in his movement & for me he is a little narrow in front.
PGD (5). 1 Cooper & Steadman’s Alex’s Favourite with Merrygarth. Shaded red with a lovely temperament, masculine head & dark eye, gd reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders, prominent forechest, excellent bone & feet, ribbing carried well back. Short coupled, gd rear angulation. Presentation excellent, moved well front & rear was just pipped by his kennel mate for the reserve on general balance; 2 Chapman’s Melminds Electrical Storm. Red not quite the shoulders of the winner, but a well angulated rear, moved out well behind but not quite the front extension of one, & at times seemed a little close. Masculine head & excellent presentation, lovely size; 3 Wedge’s Dolan No Matter What. Nice size, excellent coat & presentation, masculine head with a dark eye, not quite the feet of 1 & 2. Shoulders could be better angulated. Rear gd moved out quite well.
LD (8). An excellent class of exhibits & it was just personal preference that separated them. They should all go on to do a lot of winning. 1 Lawrence’s Peverleigh Solo Vision CC. Quality b/t who really appealed, masculine head & eye, gd reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders, prominent forechest, gd spring of rib & ribbing carried well back, short coupled & well balanced exhibit, who moved with extension & drive maintaining a level top line. Gather this is his second CC, so hope his third is not too far away; 2 Cooper & Steadman’s Darsoms Zuave at Merrygarth RCC. V close up to winner & same remarks apply, but just felt his shoulders were not quite as well angulated, but it was a close decision; 3 Boyle’s Brianolf Hi Falutin at Zarcrest. Masculine head, dark eye, lovely size, excellent coat & presentation, v well balanced. Again it was shoulder placement that was a deciding factor, as all three had so much to offer.
OD (3). 1 Mitchell & Hanney’s Ch Frankanwen Sundance to Bronia. Masculine head & eye, better shoulders than two, gd reach of neck, prominent forechest, but too narrow in front for me, gd length of ribbing, moved out well front & rear; 2 Oxley’s Ir Ch Larkhund Latest Destroyer at Owlery. B/t with excellent coat & presentation. Masculine head & dark eye. Gd rear end which he used on the move & maintained a level top line.
PB (7). A lovely class of v promising youngsters, whose progress I shall follow with interest. 1 Barrow’s Frankanwen Hi Babe. Red of nice size with a lovely feminine head & eye, v gd shoulders, ribbing carried well back, prominent forechest, well angulated rear, gd feet & bone, excellent ribbing, moved out v well fore & aft; 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Marionette. All the above remarks apply to this young lady, but just on the last move, she tended to move a bit close behind, but the class was always going to be between these two; 3 Edwards & Pankhurst’s Amber Nectar of Danward. A lovely sized 7 mth old who shows lots of promise, has a feminine head & expression with a sound front & rear.
JB (2). 1 Grimes’ Mondricia Regal Holly. B/t litter sister to winner of JD, moved out with more enthusiasm than two, pleasing head & expression, gd front & shoulder placement, ribbing carried well back, but would like more rear angulation; 2 Newport’s Dark Enchantress at Rodima. B/t larger size & rather lethargic, front & ribbing quite gd, but needs more rear angulation.
NB (1). 1 Newport’s Dark Enchantress at Rodima. B/t larger size & rather lethargic, front & ribbing quite gd but needs more angulation.
PGB (3). 1 Atkins & Harwood’s Kantis Kreme-Fraiche. Feminine head & expression with a gd reach of neck & gd shoulders with a prominent forechest, gd ribbing, quite well angulated rear, moved out well; 2 Newport’s Merrygarth Grave D’Azette. Same remarks apply, as was v close up to one, but lacked her enthusiasm on the move; 3 Page’s Clipperfield Lady Patience. B/t rather narrow in front, quite gd rear, but tends to turn her front feet out, which was noticeable on the move.
LB (7). 1 Clarke’s Tekalhaus Krugerrand RCC. A lovely sized feminine young lady, who has a gd reach of neck, prominent forechest & well placed shoulders, ribbing carried well back. Well angulated rear & moved out really well. In excellent condition & beautifully presented. In the challenge for the ticket just did not seem to have the fluidity of movement that the winner did, but a close decision; 2 Atkin’s Larkhund Quietly Kreme at Kantis. Slightly larger red than one but another who was in excellent coat & condition, gd front, ribbing & well angulated rear. Moved out well but feet could be a shade tighter; 3 Hayes Rodima Dark Crystal Mit Dialhouse. B/t of a nice size with the correct coat, excellent ribbing & rear angulation. Gd bone & feet. Moved out quite well.
OB (4). 1 Mitchell’s Ch Darsoms Zophisticate of Bronia CC, BOB & G3. This young lady had everything I was looking for, correct size, just the right amount of coat, v elegant, feminine head & expression, prominent forechest, excellent ribbing, moved with extension in front & drive from the rear, did not put a foot wrong, either here or in the big ring. Well done; 2 Atkin’s Kantis Koko-Chanel. B/t both this young lady & three, were pleasing exhibits with much to offer, prominent fronts with quite gd shoulders & well ribbed, but this one had the better feet; 3 Oxley’s Owlery Golden Splendour.
