LONGHAIRED
For me East of England is one of the best laid out showfields with the half covered rings giving the best conditions whatever the weather. I would like to thank the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to handle so many good dogs. I found the depth of quality in the bitches greater than in the dogs. Three faults I found in several exhibits that gave me cause for concern. Level bites and poor pigmentation were two but the major one was space between the shoulder blades which produced the most unusual front movement. With a strong keel to support I feel that if the front construction is not correct, no matter how good the rest of the dog is, it can’t go anywhere.
PD. (4). 1. Mitchell’s, Bronia Monte Cristo. Very promising masculine red youngster. Nothing I would like different at this stage. Scored on muscle tone and maturity of movement. 2. Atkins’, Kantis King of Clubs. Another promising red youngster who just needs more confidence. I will watch both these with interest. 3. Geeson’s, Abydachs Rocks my World.
JD. (3). 1. Chapman’s, Melminds Mastercopy. Black and tan in good coat and condition. Pleasing profile. A bit close at back but scored on fluidity of movement. 2. Burke and Manston’s, Bonavoir Scheherezade. Another black and tan with pleasing profile but I would have liked a bit more condition and drive in hind action.
PGD. (2). 1. Arnold’s, Kireton Silver Shannon of Doral. Dapple. Nice head. Scored on front, tail set and carriage and width of movement. 2. Dimmon’s, Africandawns Night Slipper. Pleasing head and eye. I would have liked more width throughout.
LD. (4). 1. Lawrence’s, Peverleigh Solo Vision. Well proportioned masculine black and tan. Pleasing head and eye. Long muscled neck on well laid shoulders. Strong front, good ribs and nice short strong loin. Excellent angulation at both ends. Moved effortlessly with drive. Didn’t need to be over handled. CC. 2. Edward and Pankhurst’s, Neropa Ace of Spades at Danward. Another well constructed black and tan. Excellent front, well laid shoulders. Good width throughout. Moved with drive. 3. Wedge’s, Dolan Cupids Arrow.
OD. (5). 1. Robert’s, Ch. Swansford Henrikador. Masculine red dog. Excellent width throughout. Low set hocks. Excellent angulation at both ends enabling him to move soundly with drive and extension. RCC. 2. McFaul’s, Ch/Ir Ch. Darsons Zwagerson. A truly worthy Champion who on handling I found difficult to fault. In this class he scored in front, shortness of loin and rear pasterns. Excellent angulation at both ends. Pleasing roundness of quarters and correct tail set. He has excellent bone and width throughout. 3. Oxley’s, Ir Ch. Larkhund Latest Destroyer at Owlery.
PB. (7). 1. A class like this restores confidence in the breed. 1. Mitchell’s, Bronia Marionette. A truly feminine black and tan. The one the judge would most like to have taken home. According to my interpretation of the standard there is nothing I would like different. Expertly presented and handled. One to watch. BP. 2. Arkin’s, Kantis Kweed of the Night. Another very promising youngster who was unlucky to meet the winner. 3. Lawrence’s, Peverleigh Polly Rose.
JB. (6). 1. Warke’s, Glasvey You Nique. A nice type of shaded red bitch. Feminine well constructed. Good head and eye. Excellent pigmentation and front construction. Good angulation at both ends. Sound free mover. 2. Burke and Manston’s, Loggeta La-Scala at Bonivoir. Another nice type of bitch. 3. Newport’s, Dark Enchantress at Rodima.
PGB. (6). 1. Warke’s, Glasvey Bobby’s Girl. Feminine shaded red bitch. Pleasing head and eye. Excellent neck on well laid shoulders. Stylish, sound, free mover. 2. Cross’s, Logeta High Society. Sweet feminine red bitch. Excellent pigmentation. Needs to show and move with more enthusiasm. 3. Booth and Elsley’s, Abbalongdat Ms Honey Honey.
LB. (8). 1. Clarke’s, Tekalhaus Krugerrand. Ultra fine head. Good neck on well laid shoulders. Short loin, scored in front construction and well angulated quarters. Sound mover but seemed very sluggish in the challenge. 2. Booth and Elsey’s, Darsoms Zariual with Abbelongdat. Sweet feminine red. Super profile. Handled and presented to perfection. 3. Hayes’s, Rodima Dark Crystal at Dailhouse.
OB. (4). A super class. 1. Warke’s, Ch/Ir Ch. Darsoms Zanastasia. Stylish, feminine shaded red. Pleasing head freely carried. Scored in front construction. Well sprung ribs, short loin and beautiful, well rounded quarters. Excellent angulation at both ends resulting in ultra sound free movement. CC and BOB. I was pleased to see her short listed in a very strong Group. 2. Mitchell’s, Ch. Darsoms Zerenity at Bronia. Perfect profile and pleasing to handle. Another with beautifully rounded quarters. Presented and handled to perfection. RCC. 3. Robert’s, Swansford Kiadora.
