RICHMOND 2004 NO CC'S Dachshund (Long Haired) Judge: Mrs Marion Hunt (Bondlea)
|
Thank you for your entries I enjoyed judging your hounds. Dentition was good throughout and sparkling clean. There does seem to be a problem with short steep upper arms which I am sure would preclude a Dachshund from doing its job. In this entry which I appreciate may not have been representative I found the dogs overall better than the bitches. Nearly all the entry were carrying good well toned muscle.
PD. (5). 1. Oxleys’, Owlery Black Prince. Bl/t 8 months old youngster. Mature and well bodied up. Lovely head, expression and pigmentation. Good neck and shoulder leading to long firm topline held on the move. Well muscled quarters which he used well on the move. Super bone and feet. A good prospect. Didn’t settle for his change of handler. 2. Clarkes’, Tekalhaus Masterpiece. 8 months old shaded red. Good shoulder and prominent breastbone. Moving well from good well muscled quarters. Close up to the winner except he was flying his tail which spoilt his outline on the move. Nice head and good pigmentation. Good coat. 3. Cooper and Steadmans Blue Velvet by Merrygarth.
PGD. (2). 1. Cooper and Steadman’s, Alex’s Favourite with Merrygarth. Shaded red. Nice head and good pigmentation. Level topline held on the move and good sternum with well placed shoulders. Well muscled and moving well. 2. Jordans’, Moonlight Sonata. B/t. Nice headed dog carrying far too much weight particularly over the shoulders area. Such a shame as he appeared to have all the essentials and probably because of the extra weight was not moving with any verve at all.
OD. (5). A nice class. 1. Oxleys’, Ir Ch. Larkhund Latest Destroyer at Owlery Sh CM. B/t. Eyecatcher who does not disappoint on handling. LOvely shaped head with super pigmentation. Good front assembly. Good bone and feet. Good length of back. Well muscled and held on the move. Well sprung ribs. Super quarters and fit. Heavy coat making him look low to the ground but plenty enough of room between ground and keel. Using his good conformation to produce good movement. Calmly, well handled. Looked good in the big ring. BD and BOB. 2. Bongoivannis’s, Merrygarth Greve de Leeq Avec Ankors. Very free moving red dog. Nice head and expression with almond shaped eye. Correct shoulder and upper arm placement. Good coat and glowing with condition. Not a lot wrong with him just unlucky to meet winner in such devastating form. RBD. 3. Cooper and Steadmans’, Darsoms Zuave at Merrygarth JW.
PB. (3). 1. Cross and Robinson’s, Loggate Ace of Base. B/t young lady, my notes say “everything nice about her and that sums her up”. Long, low and level. She was fit and moving accurately. A good prospect. RBB and BP. 2. Oxley’s, Czarina. Nice b/t exhibit litter sister to PD winner. Good bone and feet. Nice headed youngster. Not quite the scope of winner in body or movement. 3. Hams’, Always and Forever.
OB. 1. Tekalliaus Krugerrand. Shaded red. Covering a lot of ground. Nice head and expression, dark eye. Good bone and feet. Good shoulder and upper arm fitting neatly round the rib. Well angulated front and rear and good body inbetween with good ribbing. Striding out well to take BB. 2. Hayes’, Rodima Dark Crystal Mit Dialhouse. B/t. Nice shaped head, well pigmented. Shoulder blade well angulated but would like to have seen a longer upper arm. Good breastbone and good ribbing. Long level topline and good quarters. Moving well. 3. Leggetts’, Ranglewood Aralia of Sonsrymes.
